My number 1 concern is still resources. What is going to happen to all my resources I've been collecting for a year and a half?

I'm pretty concerned about that myself. I don't need to tell anyone here how much you can invest in resources. I'm extra concerned since I'm an Ubese smith. I know most do Composite only and I fear that may have been what they focused on when making resource decisions.

From what I'm reading so far, we will burn through alot more resources than normal in making armor.
4layers + 3segment + # of cores = final combine + enhancers.
I would imagine 4 cores for chest, 3 cores for helm and legs, 2 cores for boots, biceps and bracers, and 1 for gloves.
Gloves and boots will now be the place to put attachments. Leaves belt possition open for PSG. Well there goes my expensive mabari belts full of mods.
Not enough info but I'm guessing encumbrance will be converted to the new "hinderance"? The heavier the amor you make the slower your ability to do special move?

There are no more boots and gloves.

DOnt forget skill tapes....I wonder how many ADK'd pieces of armor will be destroyed because what that piece becomes in the conversion is either inefficient, less cool, or the person simply cant wear it sue to armor certs... TK-painanyone?

The way I read it, our factory runs will be everything up to and including cores.

I think, though I may be wrong, the final assembly with skin and loot modifiers would be best done by handin a lot of circumstances.

Dont get me wrong, I would think it will be possible to factory run that combine, but given the armour certs and much more variety needed in both appearance and level of protection, I think hand assembly of the final combine mostly to order will be the new business model for AS.

I cant see a factory run of one type of armour, when there are 9 types each in about 8 or 9 different skins possible being a good way to run a business.

True, i guess they want to make crafting have more care taken rather then just factory runs..

Perhaps, Ive long thought that factory production was being discouraged when the hugely increased timers first came in, I think it will be very difficult to see how a business will run after this for the first month or so.

Firstly everyone andhis dog will want the faction stuff, because they are new.
then it will settle down, people will settle into the new system for PvE and Pvp, and decide which armour is best , which elementals its ipmortant to have protection for etc.

I think this will vary completely from profession to profession though, so a factory run of max resist comp once a week wont be a successful business in the post CU world.

My AS is on test center, and with there only being 7 or 8 of us there that actualy keep vendors stocked it will be interesting how things pan out.

My guess is specialisation will happen, which will ultimatly make more room for newer armoursmiths than there is currently.

I agree. I forsee the main components being done in factory runs, and most final combines being done by hand. This could potentially change over time, if we notice a trendin favorite armor types and skins.

We are going to have to start AS guilds just to comunicate between other ASs. One smith can not possibly stock all armor types.

That might not be a bad idea. One of the systems I admin has a Consolidated Users Group (CUG). The same theory could apply here.

I tried to do this in the past, but no one wanted to participate. Said they did pretty good on thier own. If anything, I have a couple MAS friends I may just comunicate with and we open our own shop. Armor Emporium....

You won't have to carry three sets of armor. The armor systemworks more like your second description. Different sets of armor will be certified for different professions and each of the three types can have a different look:

Reconnaissance Armor
Ubese, Tantel, Mabari, Kashyyykian Ceremonial, Ithorian Guardian, Marine Rebel (Factional), Scout Trooper (Factional)

Battle Armor
Padded, Marauder, Bone, Kashyyykian Black Mountain, Ithorian Defender, RIS (Quest), Rebel Battle (Factional), Stormtrooper (Factional)

AssaultArmor
Chitin, Composite, Kashyyykian Hunting, Ithorian Sentinel, Mandalorian (Quest), Rebel Assault (Factional), Shock Trooper (Factional)

Don't you think anything's wrong with that list? No?
Well, according to Thunderheart, neither wookies nor Ithorians will be able to use EITHER side's factional armor.
Now, count armor types:
3 types for Wookiees and Ithorinas (Ceremonial/Black Mountain/Hunting and Guardian/Defender/Sentinel)
versus
16 types for all other races!

I think this is just outrageous! How does the Armorsmith community feel about this? (I'm sure there are some Wookie and Ithorians among you...)
Please support our demand for factional armor for these species as well, or at least some more diversity!
Thank you for your concern...
