The Devs mention the conversion process of current armor. I wonder if they will examine a conversion process of current segments already crafted or do they just because useless? It 'seems' from the description of segments that the segments won't be particular to a type of armor, so I'm not sure how they would convert Composite segments or Ubese segments already crafted.
As I said previously, my AS is on test center.
I have made a stock of energy, kinetic and various other layers, a few completed segs for ubese and comp, and a few completed pieces, in the hope that at some point theycan be used to test conversion.
Ill post here straight away if/when I get data.
Um, TC prime is being mothballed. There will be an entirely new TC server set up to test the CURB. If they bring back TC prime during CU testing, it probably won't be until right before release.
Just so everyone knows that it will be quite some time before they bring back TC Prime. It's also possible that it won't be back until after the CURB goes live.

As an imp wookiee I see no need for me to be in stormtrooper armor. You want to look like a clone....start one.

I'm guessing that factional armor will be the new "comp". Meaning everyone will be wearing it because it looks "cool".

Maybe no need for factional armor, but we get to chose from only 3 suits of armor, whereas everybody else gets to chose from 16! And we have NOTHINg to make up for this!!!
Incorrect. You Wookies and Ithos get to choose from 3 cores. Everyone only gets to choose from 3 cores. And humans and stuff won't be wearing wookie "appearanced" armor, nor Ithorian "appearanced" armor. So, we'll all get to have the same stats on our Combat Armor, but mine will look like padded and big furry guy's will look like... well... look like it came from Pier One.

I didn't mean the "cores" I meant different sets AMONG these cores: Bone, Chitin, Tantel, Ubese, Comp, 3xFactional (x2), RIS, BH, Mando... We have Ceremonial, BM and Hunting. That's it. Not uch of a diversity, is there? Every wookiee in assault armor will wear hunting. Every wookiee in battle will wear BM. Every wookiee in recon will wear Ceremonial.
That's what i meant.
Same goes for Ithos....

Don't you think anything's wrong with that list? No?
Well, according to Thunderheart, neither wookies nor Ithorians will be able to use EITHER side's factional armor.
Now, count armor types:
3 types for Wookiees and Ithorinas (Ceremonial/Black Mountain/Hunting and Guardian/Defender/Sentinel)
versus
16 types for all other races!
I think this is just outrageous! How does the Armorsmith community feel about this? (I'm sure there are some Wookie and Ithorians among you...)
Please support our demand for factional armor for these species as well, or at least some more diversity!
Thank you for your concern...
If I could one star this guy I would, 3 sets is better than 0 (that you used to have)

The synth cloth and reinforced panels are just like now, we use them to make armor, tailors provide them for us its just where it is added to the armor craftin process has changes.
Not all armors use just Synth Cloth and Reinforced Panels. Some use Fiberplast Panels, or Armor Padding (stupid wookie armor) or a combination thereof.
But I'm wondering if now we'll only be needing the two.

well here's teh basic break down of it to me...
All damaage is going to be two different types, basicaly ranged and melee (energy and kinetic). Then there will be sub damage types based off of different elements (acid, heat, ect.)
Based on the type of armor, it will either lean towards energy or kinetic. OR it will be mroe rounded.
Crafting wise, the new process is, you will make layers, then segments, which will go into cores. Once you make cores, you can put them into any type of armor you want. So in essence, all armors are going to have same stats, just different apearances. Although there will be a stage of experimentation at this point, which could change stats a bit.
PSGs will be changes to last longer, and now block a few hits, then recharge, then block more hits. Best way I could think of this would to be think of the way the shield generators work in Halo. They take damage, then after x amount of damage they wear out. Then they recharge and can block more damage again. And they will have graphical effects.
Also some things to notice, Light Sabers are going to be energy now, so I don't think jedi are going to be very happy about that.
thats exactly what I got out of it also, but when I read it i picked up on them saying that the appeirance will also be bale to be altered via loot items. this is going to be very interesting to see. I cant wait.
heh, maybe be able to add horns. seens that is an organic thatdoes nothing.
