I'd have to agree with Akaara, what is a AS only component doing in the Tailor skill tree. Maybe its to promote interaction between professions? Or maybe the DEVS are going to have Tailors make clothing with some resists LOL then the AS will have fits. I initially thought that it was padded armor segment but when I read further it said padded segment. HAHA, oookaaaaaayy that just doesnt make sense to me but oh well. Oh well I guess you can't make everyone happy.I know what I will do is have a tailor sell me a schematic for 50k and I willprovide the ingredients so that I can get the best components.

I believe what has the tailoring community so upset, besided the fact that this component is only useableby armorsmiths (at least my interpretation), is the fact we will have to experiment. Many tailors want experimentations, just as many don't. It seems like a slap in the face to some that they are given the experimentation, but not on anything they can personally use in clothing. I agree that it should be an armorsmith thing, unless they are going to let us use these segments in the battle padding or something that is more like bone armor (since this is more like ubese) -- cheap and good enough for noobs to use.

Ok, flame off please.

The resource attributes you want to look for are OQ first, SR second and Mall third, with UT running a distant fourth.

What level of Tailor do you need to make these panels, and what resources do they take?

I still don't get what the issue is ??? If tailors don't want to makePadded Segments- DON'T. Its not that hard. Does it bother you that much that an item was added to the total number of crafted items a tailor can craft? I don't see how this affects tailors. Tailors are not forced to make anything. Can someone please tell me the issue here. Everything I have heard is trivial in my opinion. Is it that devistating an Armorsmith component is in the tailor tree? With all do respect I would love to have this shifted to the AS tree, and furthermore if they added Tailor items to the AS tree I could care less.....

I think you are overlooking the big picture here Chianna. You might not want to make the padded segment because you don't use it "NOW". But, what if it was put in the tailor profession so that the developers could add new Tailor clothing later with small amounts of resists that would require the padded segment. And don't give me any crap about tailors don't want new schematics. I've been a tailor since launch, and I know how badly tailors want to make different clothing. I think the padded segment was put where it is for a reason (new content for tailors in a later patch). I look forward to being able to experiment on clothing, one whole branch of our profession gives bonuses to clothing experimentation, granted each level gives us more color options as well. Thisalso gives the clothing crafters apron a use now. Why are you bothering the armorsmiths with your problems anyway, it's not like they had any say in the decision. If you don't like it, bring it up in the development boards, don't harass other players who have absolutely no say in what the developers do. As for any armorsmiths on Bloodfin that are worried about depending on someone that has never experimented, I would be more than happy to help you out with padded segments.

Please move the tailor/armor discussion to another thread. I'm trying to keep this thread as a general information thread, not a debate thread.

What's all this hate from tailors?

They hade a poll up hours after this info was discovered. Talk about jumping thegun. As mentioned,we have no idea if SOE mightuse this for something later.

Also as mentioned before there's nothing that demands you craft these items.

I could see Armorsmiths bitching that they have to rely on tailors, but the complaints from tailors themselves are silly.

Maybe this was here and I missed. What skill in AS is required to craft the suit?
