Yah your right - its 87% with the trim - I was grinding a different schematic when the amazing assembly popped up.

but still - 3 layers - 87% + 87% +87% dont equal 97.7777 % (which is what a 44% stun would translate to)

Like I said I'm pretty certain of the process that was used...

They made layers till they had that once in a blue moon assembly that raised the experimentation cap ( not every amazing assembly does, maybe 1 in 200 ...)...

Once they had that assembly they experimented stun and then base.

Due to the rarity of such odd assemblies they could not go for the double amazing on stun and then base which explains why their base is lower than what it typically would be ........

All there is to it....

PS : 86% doesn't make 40% Stun, I think you need 87%...

So what do we look for to signal us that its "THE ONE" while grinding schematics? I get amazing assemblies more than amazing successes on experimentation. How do we experiment something that should only get 87-88 up to 97.7777 percent? fuzzy math to me

Sounds like the explanation is coming soon tho....

All I know is that I had this weird amazing assembly once while making a chestplate and I was able to experiment base to 94% instead of my typical 89% ....

I honestly am not certain it is not a bug because honestly you would expect all amazing assembly to produce the same result ( which right now is nothing....).

If I had to make a guess ( I didn't check at that time). I would expect that weird amazing assembly toraisethe initial percentage on stun and base before experimentation( likeinstead of the 23 or 24% you usuallysee you would be getting a few pts higher..).

And in 10 months of crafting I think I got that weird assembly twice so good luck reproducing it....( I don't use the assembly cake when making layers though...)

I suspect these abnormal amazings are more common if you have the FS crafting trees. And I bet your right - they will probably be visible from the assembly success screen with a abnormal stat list.

but I have been crafting armor since launch - and have yet to see an abnormal assembly that made me say WOW - much lessbe able to REPEAT it. Im also not FS tho which could be important.

still sounds like a fairy tale or legend- a magical assembly never photographed, and rarely seen.

So now my only question is:

is it a bug? or intended?

I'm using the exact same resources for layers and I'm capping at 39% Stun. I know you probably have something that pushes final assembly that last little bit Akme (I'm thinking you're usingOap Phrik which I don't have a large stack of). I'm quite sure that there may only be one resource (the aforementioned Phrik) that is not the "best of the best" in my stockpile. I'm toying with some different experimentation techniques on segments and final combine but for the life of me I can't see what is making 13% Stun layers hit 44% Stun at final combine. ...scratches head...

Akme forgot about me

I to have these resources, Dont have ALOT of Trim but I have trim

I fooled with this last night as well, I "Know" how they did it in theory but I too can not reproduce this. Even useing stored nerf day layers I too hit 43% stun and those were double amazing on the special line layers too

Both me and Akme are stacked enhanced smiths And I can tell you I get amazings every few assemblies/expermentations. (+23 assembly)

The only thing I can think of is a multiple amounts of amazings/abnormal amazings(greats) Expermenting 1 point at a time over and over till they get a failure followed by a series of amazings (the failure accually went up in % on me 1 time), I was able to push it to 90% special but no farther, 7.777% shy of the mark needed but closer, This was on 1 layer and could not be done again with in 350-400 builds. I got board and gave up.

But I feel it has something to do (not 100% positive test inconclusive) with multiple amazings combined with a "Super" great or good. I know i have got abnormal greats before, says great success but it was = to an amazing some how.

This same theory came to me when makeing an RIS helmet for a guy last night. It normaly takes 3 points to get to 80% kinetic when i experment on spacial protection line, but this helmet last night got a critical failure with 2 points, i closed my eyes and said the poop word a few times when i noticed it was at 80% with a crit failed 2 point exper. thats when i ground out some layers for testing, I even took off my assembly cloths then put them back on after the peice was assembled.

Amazing or great assembly was same Base results time and time again. with food/drink and with out food/drink. To be honest I dont know with out a dought how they got it to 97%, but All I know is they lost 1-2% base to get it which means there was some expermentation points lost/used somewhere.

Yep - sounds like 1 maybe 2 experimentation points were lost/used inwhatever method is usedto break the math cap. otherwise they would have 66-67% base.

Breaking the cap would allow more points to go into a line that would normally be capped. This is where the points would be used, not really lost.

got like the same on Enc on a lair

I hitted 91% on base resist what makes 72% base then used my last 4 points together in Enc and hit a critical fail

but Condition went down to 98 but amazing the Enc went down to 8/10/4 on it and normal it is like 10/10/10 some times a 9 between it

so it can be that the hit a critical in the beginning of the experiment and still got the protection up some how and so got spare room to put more points in it and making with the same 87% experiment higher stun on it

wel only the makers now it

Has anyone ever considered to try experimenting multiple lines at one time?

I'm thinking along the lines of:

2 points to base, and the rest on that experiment on the special line, or vice versa. What would be the affect of an amazing in this situation?

My understanding is that experimenting multiple lines at once raises the risk of failure, but how exactly does it affect the experimentation percentages and the math involved?

There is a increased rate of failure, and amazings are twice as difficult to get. But I use a method similar to this all the time now because I love the results..

I thought that also. so I tested it....

Here is the results with both an AMAZING on ASSEMBLY - AND - EXPERIMENTATION. Yielded 86% aka 13.333+ stun % on the layer - enough to make a 40% piece.
