Thread: Advice needed

I have a FS character with 3 unlocks, i missed phase 2 and 3.
I've unlocked CP: Ranged Defence, ER: Survival, ER: Melee Defence.
To get the other skills i want (CP: Melee Speed & Accuracy, and ER: Ranged Defence, and HS: Luck) i'll have to wait 32 weeks for all required phases to come by.
If i take skills that i dont want then i can have 6 unlocks in 11 weeks.
My question is, can i change or get another skill tree once im Jedi Initiate? And if so, can you delete the unwanted tree.
This whole process i still unclear to me. I would prefer do get the skill i want instead of getting the skill that will make me jedi faster. What your opinion?
ARgh, you obviously didnt do a search on the topic. Always do a search before you post a question, it annoys people less. Also, this topic is discussed in the Jedi Revamp FAQ in the Jedi profession forum.
Eenywho, yes you can change fs branches later, but at this time it would be a very clumsy and VERY inconvenient process. AT THIS TIME Jedi xp does not convert to fs xp of any kind, however it is a current hot topic and is being addressed at the highest levels. Therefore the only way to gain fs xp is to convert the various types of xp gained from the regular professions.
To become a Jedi Initiate you must fully train 6 FS branches. As a Jedi you can never have less than 6 fully trained FS branches. Is it sinking in yet? Example: You are a Jedi and for some reason decide to master a 7th fs branch. Only when you fully master that 7th branch would you be able to drop another unwantedbranch, because you would notviolate the required minimum6 fs branches.
(did I say 'branch' enough times in that paragraph?)
However the only way to do this is to grind xp from a regular profession. So here you are a Jedi, and you're wasting time on non-Jedi skills. Sounds dumb doesn't it? Yea, it is.
I was in the same predicament as you my friend, and I decided to compromise. I could be a Padawan right now if I had wanted to train the ranged speed, since that was my 6th unlock. However, i decided to wait until vehicle control came around in phase 2. From what I hear, as long as you have ranged and melee defense, the rest doesn't really matter. I chose to wait for vehicle control because it has SOME benefit whereas ranged speed has absolutely no benefit to a Jedi.
I would suggest you wait it out for the skills you want, as it seems important to you, as it did to me. You must think of all the hard work you are putting in to gaining those skills, and if they are not what you want, it will be very easy to lose motivation. Thats why i just couldnt spend so much time grinding ranged speed - there was nothing it it for me. I would rather wait a little while longer than get something i would later resent.
If it is any consolation, my fs template will be Enhanced Reflexes 4444, and combat prowess 0044. Not the best skills in my opinion, but close enough, and all somewhat useful. The melee acc and speed won't directly benefit my Jedi skills, but while Im a weak Jedi, they will help my Tkm skills be more effectiveso I can defend myself until I become stronger with Jedi.
I hope that helps, may the Force be with you.
You left out one key peice of information. What are the stats on the guns you are using? From my experinece the quality of your guns is just as important as tactics.
