You absolutely are not stuck with the branches you go with. You can change them, you must train up a seventh branch, and then you can drop any of the original six, the requirement is to have 6 full branches, the system doesn't care what they are. This has been tried and confirmed.

...and theoretically you could do every single FS box there is in the game, right? (not that I want to lol)

I have a FS character with 3 unlocks, i missed phase 2 and 3.

I've unlocked CP: Ranged Defence, ER: Survival, ER: Melee Defence.

To get the other skills i want (CP: Melee Speed & Accuracy, and ER: Ranged Defence, and HS: Luck) i'll have to wait 32 weeks for all required phases to come by.

If i take skills that i dont want then i can have 6 unlocks in 11 weeks.

My question is, can i change or get another skill tree once im Jedi Initiate? And if so, can you delete the unwanted tree.

This whole process i still unclear to me. I would prefer do get the skill i want instead of getting the skill that will make me jedi faster. What your opinion?

ARgh, you obviously didnt do a search on the topic. Always do a search before you post a question, it annoys people less. Also, this topic is discussed in the Jedi Revamp FAQ in the Jedi profession forum.

Eenywho, yes you can change fs branches later, but at this time it would be a very clumsy and VERY inconvenient process. AT THIS TIME Jedi xp does not convert to fs xp of any kind, however it is a current hot topic and is being addressed at the highest levels. Therefore the only way to gain fs xp is to convert the various types of xp gained from the regular professions.

To become a Jedi Initiate you must fully train 6 FS branches. As a Jedi you can never have less than 6 fully trained FS branches. Is it sinking in yet? Example: You are a Jedi and for some reason decide to master a 7th fs branch. Only when you fully master that 7th branch would you be able to drop another unwantedbranch, because you would notviolate the required minimum6 fs branches.

(did I say 'branch' enough times in that paragraph?)

However the only way to do this is to grind xp from a regular profession. So here you are a Jedi, and you're wasting time on non-Jedi skills. Sounds dumb doesn't it? Yea, it is.

I was in the same predicament as you my friend, and I decided to compromise. I could be a Padawan right now if I had wanted to train the ranged speed, since that was my 6th unlock. However, i decided to wait until vehicle control came around in phase 2. From what I hear, as long as you have ranged and melee defense, the rest doesn't really matter. I chose to wait for vehicle control because it has SOME benefit whereas ranged speed has absolutely no benefit to a Jedi.

I would suggest you wait it out for the skills you want, as it seems important to you, as it did to me. You must think of all the hard work you are putting in to gaining those skills, and if they are not what you want, it will be very easy to lose motivation. Thats why i just couldnt spend so much time grinding ranged speed - there was nothing it it for me. I would rather wait a little while longer than get something i would later resent.

If it is any consolation, my fs template will be Enhanced Reflexes 4444, and combat prowess 0044. Not the best skills in my opinion, but close enough, and all somewhat useful. The melee acc and speed won't directly benefit my Jedi skills, but while Im a weak Jedi, they will help my Tkm skills be more effectiveso I can defend myself until I become stronger with Jedi.

I hope that helps, may the Force be with you.

Hiya, im a Master Bounty Hunter, my current temp is:

Master BH

4/4/4/3 Medic

Novice Pistoleer

Novice Carbinator

When i first started this game 4 months ago, all i wanted to be was a Master BH, I didnt know at the time that we could hunt Jedi, but when i found out it made me want to be a MBH all the more, I i think there is just something cool about being a MBH and the thought of being the only profession able to hunt another player without having to ask for a Duel is just to cool!!

I got Inv 3, but didnt hunt Jedi, i decided to wait until i was a Master (thought it would help me fight) and finally the day came, I became a Master BH, I got buffed, I sorted out my Macros (Carbine: Confusion Shot x2, Fast Blast x 2 switch to LCC, Lightning Single 2 x 4) then spam LS2 until the jedis dead. I found a jedi online and started on my way to meet him for the duel i've been waiting for since i started all those months ago............seconds later i spawned in the cloning centre with massive wounds, a serverly dented sense of pride in my newly master profession and the idea of being a Bobba Fett style BH in tatters around me.

I unsuccesfully attempted Jedi Bounties a few more times all with the same tradgic results!

So now i dont know what to do, the dream is still there, and I still wear my MBH title with pride, but its not working out as a profession, I want to stay MBH but im now feeling that unless i take a melee profession to gain some melee defence i'll have no chance of earning anything over 22k per BH mission (which to be honest isnt worth the time it takes when you consider that i can do 1 Janta/Mokk mission and get 32k (when in a solo group and from a terminal in an Improved Job Market City) in about 5-10 mins

The Combat Upgrade offered me some hope, but i've not seen any sign that BH's will be any better off when it arrives and the Bounty Hunter Revamp doesnt appear to be happening anytime soon. It appears that my dream profession is doomed to be just a "Mastered the Bounty Hunter Profession" in my list of acheivements when some examines me.

So here is my problem, please someone help me out with some advice:

- I want to remain a Master BH.

- I want to be able to defeat a Jedi in the (in my opinion) true BH way (ranged and solo).

- I cant remain a MBH and gain any decent Melee skills as far as i can see, but appear to need them.

Can anyone offer me advice on my technique or template, is there a template that would enable me to remain a MBH and successfully hunt jedi (hope hope hope)?

Thanks in advance

Okay, first off, your template is very weak. While you may be able to heal, if you took Master Carbineer or Master Pistoleer instead, your mark would be dead before they reached you (providing you know how to kite). Basically, I'm saying if you need to heal, you are doing something wrong. Also, why do you have the crafting tree in Medic? Are you going to hunt down a Jedi and craft stims at him?

Also, NEVER USE THE LLC TO PVP. You need to be in melee range to use the specials, and that means that you are in range to get your head sliced off with a saber. Its also not likely to get past the Jedi's ranged defense and saber block, so dont bother. Your DPS will be alot better with a pistol/carbine.

Dont use Fastblast. It doesnt do enough damage to warrant its use. Use Stoppingshot from the Pistoleer profession instead, much better damage.

Remember to take Jedi missions in the 25k-170k, because that means you can handle them because they dont have (or probably dont have) Master Lightsaber.

Remember that its not the profession that sucks, its your build. Someone with only Teras Kasi Master is really bad, but when you stackdefenses from other professions, maybe Master Brawler, you have a deadly foe. Someone with only Master Bounty Hunter will not be able to stand up to a Bounty Hunter who has MBH and the remaining skill points in combat professions, much less a Jedi.

Hi Brodie,

You left out one key peice of information. What are the stats on the guns you are using? From my experinece the quality of your guns is just as important as tactics.

Thanks Cran, firstly what is DPS? sorry if thats a noob question.

So what template would you recommend for soloing a 25k - 170k Jedi whilst still retaining MBH?

So i neednt worry about defence at all, just adopt the old axium of "The best defence is a strong offence"???

edit: after checking a Profession planner i've noticed that being MBH and Master Carb/Pist would leave only 18 skill points left, and i need at least 24 skill points as im now FS, is it still possible to be able to have a Jedi Hunting Template without Mastering Carb or Pist.

Cran said: "your mark would be dead before they reached you (providing you know how to kite)" - i have no idea what Kite(ing) is sorry

What other templates would be viable?

well if you go Mpistols you get "decent" defences..im bh/pistols atm and i handle pretty well with my defs...tho im thinking to change pistols to carbines due to the dmg and nice state attack..and better area attacks for pve..only carbineers really dont have any defences..you could also dapple those two..like 3404 carbs 0044 pistols or 3404 carbs 0040 pistols novice medic..etc

So does anyone else have any advice of what i should spend the remaining 81 skill point left after MBH on? would a mixture of Pistoleer and Carb work or is it best to just concentrate

on just one, also as i said earlier, i need to save at least 26 skill points as im FS
