I am MBH/Pistoleer 0044/Carbineer 0100 (my template is not finished--it will be carbinerr 0400, but I am using scouting hunting right now to earn money). I have been having a lot of luck against Jedi in the 60-100k range with this, unbuffed.

Like the others said, offense is your best defense. I am also medic 2100, and I've found that, if I had to heal, I was probably already dead. You want to concentrate on hitting them: carbine state changes first--dizzy, blind, stun, knockdown, then deal the HAM damage accordingly, either switching to pistols or using the carb. I haven't used LLC against a Jedi (but had in PVP waaay before buffs), but, unless your target is on the ground, it is a bad idea. Too inaccurate.

Most important, I think, is patience. BHs actually have to HUNT. You gotta wait and watch. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes it takes a while to get your mark in the best position.

Lastly, perhaps you haven't looked on the boards, but the FS xp maximum is somewhere around 5 million per skill (combat, reflexes, etc.), so there is no reason to rush and train up those boxes if you would be better served (for the time being) using the skill points somewhere else. Jedi CAN wait!

what is the best way for a new SW to drive business to their vendor. All I have is the coke machine and midget droid vendors. I don't any merchant skills. I did co-locate with a master architect who's vendors show on the map, yet in 3 weeks I have only gotten 1 non guild sale and theres just not enough pilot guilies to sustain my business.

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated

What do you have on your vendor? How far is it from the nearest Starport? Have you advertised in your galaxy trade forum?

Try putting things on the bazaar in a major city like Theed or Coronet. Pick something that does not seem to be well represented, but would be useful. If there are no paint kits on the bazaar anywhere, that is a good one. When someone buys something from you, write down their name, and send them a thank-you email with information about your shop and waypoint. Try not to email spam someone more than once.

As sad as it is to say, if you don't know enough people to try to get business going that way, the best is to stand at a shuttleport spamming. The majority of people, from my experiences, still do not use the galaxy wide vendor search.

I'd recommend picking one or two parts and focus on making them as good as you can. Starting there will have less of a tie-up of resources/credits then trying to stock everything.

I completely disagree with this strategy. First, I am not at all a fan of starport spammers. These players just lag out the server making it unnecessarily difficult to enter and exit a city. Second, many have become very weary of spammers messages. All too often you see something that really catches your eye, you go to the vendor, and zilche--waste of time.

As an alternative, I suggest the following:

  • Put a sign up in your shop availing yourself to potential customers. A lot of players have in mind what they want (or at least some idea of what they want) and don't really want to waste a lot of time looking for something that is merely going to be "close".
  • Craft free items for your friends using your absolutely best resources. They will undoubtedly be pleased and tell their friends, who will tell theirs, and so forth.
  • Leverage the Galactic Vendor Search feature on public bazaar by making the best and putting it on your vendor at competitive prices. This requires that you browse other vendors through the same feature and figure out how to best compete.
  • Keep topping your best. This means always (and I mean always) looking for better resources, which means reallly understanding what it takes to craft quality items. Save up for experimentation tapes. Earn Force Assembly IV and Force Experimentation IV. Move into a player city that is a research center.

These are just some suggestions, but it should put you on a path to success.

I agree completely with the emphasis there. I myself have hated spammers for the longest time. But, after trying all the other options you mentioned, it still did not generate enough business. I set my crafter at a starport maybe once a week. His spammer is set on 30 second intervals between comments. And if he's advertising it, it's there.

I agree completely with the points you made. If I see someone in a starport spamming every 5-10 seconds, they get an /addignore, don't care what they are selling/buying. Those that spam occassionally don't really hamper my game at all, and are usually the ones that have better stuff to offer. Always keep your best sellers in stock. For me, it's shields and weapons. I always have a stock of my basics on my vendor.

While I'm not trying to belittle the points you made (they are all very good and valid ways of generating business), the "smart" spammer will be able to help boost their sales a little. Even if you only do it for one to three days a week, a month max. You'd be surprised at how many people do actually stop by. And, if you stick to Jagged's suggestions about staying competitive, you'll be surprised how many are repeat customers.

I usually put some good Items on the bazaar with a wp to my vendor in the description, seems to have worked so far.
