people were saying krayt was not soloable after they increase the resist and ham. it only takes time, people solo them all the time

yes ris and mandalorian is rare. but ris IS USEABLE in their current state. look at the stats of ris compare to mandalorian. its no contest. yes armor do decays as with everything else in the game. now no one is tell you that you must use ris to hunt krayts with it and have it decay in less then 1 day. however ris is useable in their current state.

Took three kills yesterday to loot a series of GDK Scales (The RIS type!), and today I've killed twenty with two normal scale drops and nothing else. I think it is fixed as of today.

Looks like I'll have to muster up the motivation to go hunt GDK's today. When in Rome...

Just because Thunderheart says something does not mean we all have to just "lemming" our way off the cliff. By his statement we have not in fact seen an increased drop rate. We have seen drops that have more then one scale. This allows a non-uber combat AS the opportunity to hire or get friends to go out, help them kill 65 Kimos (about the average) and have opportunity to in one loot get a quest scale AND have the opportunity to actually make a piece. I can run the numbers but it would bore everyone....needless to say that even if the drop quantities remained the same, RIS would not become common place.

To my fellow AS out there seeing the "epic quest" as the end all. Why would you NOT want them (your fellow AS's) to have that game enjoyment? This is my problem with the views expressed here. No one is taking that away from you. Thats a personal satisfaction that should not be effected by others also being happy. Am I wrong with this view?

I am not being sarcastic, Im just trying to understand what I seethe focalpart of the discussion.

No one is wrong. It's all opinion, and every one is entitled to their own. What I'm saying now is meant to be read in the most calm, unconfrontational tone one can muster:

Nothing was/is stopping anyone from undertaking the RIS quest. The same folks that I see calling everyone with one RIS piece to their name an "elitist" are the same people who seem to be acting like they were somehow barred from mastering swordsman or rifleman, or are somehow a successful armorsmith yet can't afford to put attractive bounties out on scales.

The fact is that it was already there for everyone to enjoy. People chose not to. A bug occurs, and now tons of venom and flames are flying between people who are suddenly interested and those who were already involved. It's much the same as the Jedi changes, except this time we have confirmation that the change was not intentional.

FWIW, if GDK's ever become un-soloable, I would fully support a change to have the scales drop in sets. Considering they're currently easily soloable by anyone who's put 92 skill points into certain combat masteries, I don't see the need. Again, that's my opinion, and like everyone else I'm entitled to it. I'm not getting brought down into another flame war over this.

So GDKs will always be soloable, right? Because they wouldn't change the rules half-way, would they?

Whoaa, cool down man. I think you are out numbered. The drop rate is better now, everyone can enjoy RIS with more random drop rates. They make a lot of things rare at first then introduce new things into the picture that replace it. Allowing the once hard to find stuff more availible. Better drop rates means less work for you now so you can relax and have fun in other areas of the game instead of being so concentrated with one aspect of it.

As mad as it sounds like you are, I wouldtake a break. This is just a game for enjoyment. Not heart attacks!

Honestly no kidding a side, put the game a side and come back to it in a couple days. I know how people can get wrapped up in the MMORPG kind of games.

My buddy was married with 4 little kids and he played EQ non-stop. I went to stay with him for a week on vacation and his kids were so starved for attention they wouldn't leave me alone and he was too busy to take notice.

He got his wife into it and they both don't have time for anything anymore, their house is always a pigsty, they mostly eat fast food because it would take too much time away from their playing time to cook, she don't work and stays home with the kids and plays EQ so if she gets a head of him in the game he will call in sick or use up his vacation time to be a head of here, the list goes on and on. First they were Magic freaks then EQ came along, who knows now, I haven't seen him in 3 years. But there kids were there all the time wanting the attention they were giving to their hobbies.

Take a break every now and again or look into other areas of your life, this applies to anyone reading this.

I personally find it nice to just sit in the game and talk and meet new friends. Find out where they are from or how you can help them understand the game better. You get satisfaction that way. You don't always need to be productive in game, most people use video games to relax or for fun.

I am not trying to bash you or flame you, but you need to seriously look back over your message you left with a clear head and realize you need a break.

Please don't take this in any bad way as I am just trying to be friendly and helpful as I see a problem if you keep going the way your are.

I thought I played this game too muchso now I have a certain time set a side to play and that is it. Well take care and please get some enjoyment back as Star Wars is all about going back and being a kid again while having fun doing it! If you are a younger person go watch the movies and realize why you bought this game.

hold on while I get my stupid stick to beat you down with "royalwitcheez"...

change is expected in a mmorpg... I accept that... that is normal.. that is actually par for the course...

but how about..... one day I make you master ALL professions to get a jedi slot... takes what?? 2 months maybe one month for the insane hardcore... 3-4-5 months for the less then hardcore... and many more months for the causal gamer....

now how about in a patch I "break" the jedi system.. and I allow everyone who wants to be a jedi do it in a week... 3 days maybe.. how would you like that..... would you consider that a "fair and just" move by the mmorpg development team....

or how about you invest 3 months into ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE, I personally don't give 2 **edit**s as to what it is.... and then I undermine your work with a "bug" that allows anyone to do it in 2 days... how would you like that....

PLEASE GIVE ME MORE FEEDBACK... I WANT TO POINT OUT WHO THINKS THEY KNOW WHAT THE **edit** THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.. AND EXPLAIN TO THEM EXACTLY WHY THEY ARE COMPLETE AND UTTER FOOLS....

/sarcasm ON....
royalwitcheez comments not only help the situation, but makes me feel like the last 3 months finding loot drops is justified by making these loot drops available to anyone who loots the GDK ONCE....

royalwitcheez knows that MMORPG's are not constant and will change in time... and that is not what I was complaining about at all... he understands that wasting online players time with very stupid bugs is fine and should not result in a large backlash by the community....

/sarcasm OFF..... please... speak more..... and justify why the development team "can do no wrong", because we have people like you around.....

or maybe if you WERE someone that wasted the last 3 months getting loot drops.. you MIGHT begin to understand why this might make some of us mad... but don't worry..., I don't expect you to actually understand... I'll just keep posting "feedback" till they ban me from doing so....

Wow someone needs alittle fresh air.

Everyone knows the Devs are compleate and total idiots however you still fail to address the fact that although now these are easy to solo all you want when the devs change combat to where these require a large group how is it fun in any way to get a group together to g TRY to find GDKs on the slim chance that they MIGHT drop 1/3 of 1/9 of a suit for 1/x number of people in the group

Awww, that sucks guess RIS goes back to being armor only 1 or 2 people per server can enjoy.

So tell me, what were you enjoying while I was out killing enough GDK's to loot eight scales over the course of three months? What was stopping you from from killing GDK's or putting out bounties for them attractive enough to lure the loot hunters away from the krayts?

I love this whining, it's like Lok doesn't exist on some of your clients or you're somehow barred from mastering a combat profession. There's absolutely nothing stopping you from crafting RIS, you just choose to do something else with your time.

I totally agree.. this armor was for those who actually wanted to work for it... seemed like a prize to get it and own a piece of it. With the loot dropping so fast it puts all those who worked so hard to get it to waste.
AND IMO those that are whining cause the loot drops are gonna slow again... you must not realize how much time it took to make this and to see someone get a full set of it when it took someone else 3-4 months to get a full set is BS.

This was my point, if they change it back.

It's no more fair for people in the future to have to group up to hunt the GDK than it is to give 1 person 8 scales for 1 kill.

What they should do is revert the change right now, but then after the combat balance turn the drops up a notch to make up for the fact that it's no longer a single person hunting them, but groups of however many people.
