Thread: multi-component RIS drops are a bug

So GDKs will always be soloable, right? Because they wouldn't change the rules half-way, would they?

RIS and Mandalorian armor are not useable in their current state. The armors require and extreme amount of effort/credits to obtain and are then will only last a short time period. RIS and Mandalorian armor is so rare that I have NEVER SEEN IT on a live server.
Looks like I'll have to muster up the motivation to go hunt GDK's today. When in Rome...

I retract my previous post. The bug is NOT fixed as of today.

To my fellow AS out there seeing the "epic quest" as the end all. Why would you NOT want them (your fellow AS's) to have that game enjoyment? This is my problem with the views expressed here. No one is taking that away from you. Thats a personal satisfaction that should not be effected by others also being happy. Am I wrong with this view?
No one is wrong. It's all opinion, and every one is entitled to their own. What I'm saying now is meant to be read in the most calm, unconfrontational tone one can muster:
Nothing was/is stopping anyone from undertaking the RIS quest. The same folks that I see calling everyone with one RIS piece to their name an "elitist" are the same people who seem to be acting like they were somehow barred from mastering swordsman or rifleman, or are somehow a successful armorsmith yet can't afford to put attractive bounties out on scales.
The fact is that it was already there for everyone to enjoy. People chose not to. A bug occurs, and now tons of venom and flames are flying between people who are suddenly interested and those who were already involved. It's much the same as the Jedi changes, except this time we have confirmation that the change was not intentional.
FWIW, if GDK's ever become un-soloable, I would fully support a change to have the scales drop in sets. Considering they're currently easily soloable by anyone who's put 92 skill points into certain combat masteries, I don't see the need. Again, that's my opinion, and like everyone else I'm entitled to it. I'm not getting brought down into another flame war over this.

hold on while I get my stupid stick to beat you down with "royalwitcheez"...
change is expected in a mmorpg... I accept that... that is normal.. that is actually par for the course...
but how about..... one day I make you master ALL professions to get a jedi slot... takes what?? 2 months maybe one month for the insane hardcore... 3-4-5 months for the less then hardcore... and many more months for the causal gamer....
now how about in a patch I "break" the jedi system.. and I allow everyone who wants to be a jedi do it in a week... 3 days maybe.. how would you like that..... would you consider that a "fair and just" move by the mmorpg development team....
or how about you invest 3 months into ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE, I personally don't give 2 **edit**s as to what it is.... and then I undermine your work with a "bug" that allows anyone to do it in 2 days... how would you like that....
PLEASE GIVE ME MORE FEEDBACK... I WANT TO POINT OUT WHO THINKS THEY KNOW WHAT THE **edit** THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.. AND EXPLAIN TO THEM EXACTLY WHY THEY ARE COMPLETE AND UTTER FOOLS....
/sarcasm ON....
royalwitcheez comments not only help the situation, but makes me feel like the last 3 months finding loot drops is justified by making these loot drops available to anyone who loots the GDK ONCE....
royalwitcheez knows that MMORPG's are not constant and will change in time... and that is not what I was complaining about at all... he understands that wasting online players time with very stupid bugs is fine and should not result in a large backlash by the community....
/sarcasm OFF..... please... speak more..... and justify why the development team "can do no wrong", because we have people like you around.....
or maybe if you WERE someone that wasted the last 3 months getting loot drops.. you MIGHT begin to understand why this might make some of us mad... but don't worry..., I don't expect you to actually understand... I'll just keep posting "feedback" till they ban me from doing so....
Wow someone needs alittle fresh air.
Everyone knows the Devs are compleate and total idiots however you still fail to address the fact that although now these are easy to solo all you want when the devs change combat to where these require a large group how is it fun in any way to get a group together to g TRY to find GDKs on the slim chance that they MIGHT drop 1/3 of 1/9 of a suit for 1/x number of people in the group

So tell me, what were you enjoying while I was out killing enough GDK's to loot eight scales over the course of three months? What was stopping you from from killing GDK's or putting out bounties for them attractive enough to lure the loot hunters away from the krayts?
I love this whining, it's like Lok doesn't exist on some of your clients or you're somehow barred from mastering a combat profession. There's absolutely nothing stopping you from crafting RIS, you just choose to do something else with your time.
I totally agree.. this armor was for those who actually wanted to work for it... seemed like a prize to get it and own a piece of it. With the loot dropping so fast it puts all those who worked so hard to get it to waste.
AND IMO those that are whining cause the loot drops are gonna slow again... you must not realize how much time it took to make this and to see someone get a full set of it when it took someone else 3-4 months to get a full set is BS.

This was my point, if they change it back.
It's no more fair for people in the future to have to group up to hunt the GDK than it is to give 1 person 8 scales for 1 kill.
What they should do is revert the change right now, but then after the combat balance turn the drops up a notch to make up for the fact that it's no longer a single person hunting them, but groups of however many people.
