As per thunderheart ALL existing pieces of composite will be NERFED!.

Good! The game is far too easy as it is now. Im sick of composite. I remember when the game started, combat was much MUCH more fun because we didnt have composite and doctor buffs! Going to elite planets really put fear into my character.. now its just a walk in the park.

Challengeing gameplay = Fun. Right now combat is too boring and no sence of danger.

They need to let us know what their plan is and then SLOWLY implement it. SLOWLY reduce the resist to composite so AS can start tofaze out of total composite manufacturing if this is what they want to do. Don't do one BIG nurf and make months of work worthless! It's been like this for almost a year they could slowly implement the change over the next 3 months so AS have a chance to change their practices for whats to come. Doing one big nerf hurts everone and gets a lot of PO people. Alsoremember, composite is better becouse its heavy. If other armor becomes as good, then composite needs to be lighter or the other heavier.

If they nerf existing armor and make it useless, tons of ppl will be pissed, I spent TONS of credits assembling my high resist suit.

Aren't the devs the one that nerfed all the creatures in the first place because they though CH's were overpowered? Creatures that I was once afraid of to fight, now I have no fear charging right at 3 of them.

I don't think armor is overpowered. Maybe cutting down Composite Segments to accept only 2 layers might be a possible solution.

Regardless of what you Hardcore Armorsmiths say, bottom line is the Armorsmith trade needs a revamp badly. Only reason you guys dont want the revamp is because you control the market with your mass producing of 80% kientic 70% base composite and you know everyone wants it.

One major probably with composite armor is doctor buffs. If the buffs were 1/2 as strong then AS would have to concentrate on reducing encumbrancing more then maxing out stats. But since buffs are so powerful nobody worries about encumbrance.

Master Doc Buffs + Ubber Composite Armor = People solo'ing Night Sisters and all the POI's,these werement to be for groups not people who solo it and camp it all day to get all the loots. If you make it so you need 5-10 people to do the POI's where the good loot is, then you would eliminate the camping, because all 5-10 people would have to camp and the odds are against that all of them are willing to stay there for several hours every day.

I'm willing to take the armorsmith revamp if part of the revamp is making it easier to get RIS compoents... As it is now, its just a legend, nobody but a few have actually seen it in the game... and those who do have it, i gurantee they dont use it in battle. I know if i spend 10-15 million for a suite I wouldnt want to wear it in battle.

I care, I like to solo I don't like to be forced to find a group. If you want to play a group enforced game go play everquest. Individuals could make a difference in the Star Wars universe, they didn't consistantly have their ass handed to them by kwis or anglers.

Composite needs to be nerfed, (and some of the lower level armors need to be improved), but I'm pretty skeptical that the Devs will get it right. Personally I think composite should have its resists lowered by 15-20%, and it should be given one more vulnerability. If the Devs don't give comp any more vulnerabilities, then I have a feeling that its going to remain the most dominant armor.

The biggest thing I'm afraid of is how the combat rebalance is going to affect pre-nerf items. Here's the three ways that I think it might go down...

  1. Pre-nerf items are still usable - Everyone who stocks up on items before the rebalance will be able to dominate in PvP and PvE for months to come. Obviously this would be a terrible way to do things.

  2. Pre-nerf items are rendered unusable - Tons of players will be outraged to find that weapons and armor that they have spent millions of credits on are now worthless. In particular, I would be royally pissed if I had dropped some very nice Armor Attachments into a suit of armor that is suddenly rendered invalid after the rebalance. Just like option #1, this method would be a terrible way to do things.

  3. Pre-nerf items must be converted to post-nerf items - This would be the best way to do things, but it would also involve the most new coding. Also, considering the problems had with the pet-swapping system back when CH was rebalanced, I wouldn't be too confident in the devs getting the item conversion system right.

YAY! Not a day too soon (rather 6 month too late).

Now I only need to see some fixes to CM and I will be a happy.

Composite is way too strong right now. You guys who complain about this have just gotten spoiled with your Uber armor and have forgotten how to play this game without it. Armor should never have been 90% resistant to every kind of damage attack.

Ok I know there are a lot of opinions on this subject. However, I for one do not see the problem with composite armor being the best armor in the game. It is, after all, Master AS level armor. If composite is nerfed to make it just as effective (in other words useless) as almost every other form of armor, then what is the point of even becoming a master other than to get the additional exp. points? Every crafting profession in the game has the attributes of a profession located at the master level (i.e.doc buffs, BE additives, etc.) Heck evenartisans do not get a thing that is marketable unless they are masters (i.e. power conditioners, energy distributors, speeders, etc). This being the case, why should AS be any different? Ok that addresses my thoughts on the whole composite being the best armor issue.

As for them nerfing armor to get rid of 80% resists etc, that is an utter crock. To me that just implies that the devs. are going to take a half a**ed approach in balancing the combat profs. Right now PvP is suffering all over the place in the game and it has little to do with armor and more to do with things like a single combat medic being able to wipe out an entire group of fully buffed and armored players with mind poison, riflemen taking out a fully mind buffed and food enhanced player's mind in 2 or 3 shots, etc. Now, if they nerfthose profs and then nerf armoron top of that, guess what, we revert right back to 4or 5 months ago when everyone was calling for a nerf to TKA.

Oh and as for the argument that they should nerf armorso people are forced to hunt in groups. Not everyonein this game wants to hunt in a group. Does that mean they should be denied the ability to go out and enjoy themselves in game just because they are not the social type?

If this rumor is true then I think the devs. need to go back to the drawing boards and come up with a new plan for a combat balance. From my point of view, nerfing armor just is not going to cut it.

One this is for sure, I will not be happy if all of my schematics, segments, and armor are turned into useless rubish. At least grandfather the pre-nerf stuff in.

grandfathering the pre-nerf stuff is the worst idea on how to handle the re-balance. There will be no reason to be an armorsmith for at least 6 months. We will know this is coming, and be able to make TONS of the really good stuff. Even if it is sprung on us, there are plenty of AS's who have a ton of great comp already crated. That means that PvP and PvE would be even more unbalanced, as the rich get richer, so to speak.

If/when they do nerf armor, they need to adjust all current existing armor. If they just applied a 1-1 mapping of resists, then we would still need those uber resources we've spent so long collecting, as anything else would produce even lower resist armor.
