As per thunderheart ALL existing pieces of composite will be NERFED!.
They need to let us know what their plan is and then SLOWLY implement it. SLOWLY reduce the resist to composite so AS can start tofaze out of total composite manufacturing if this is what they want to do. Don't do one BIG nurf and make months of work worthless! It's been like this for almost a year they could slowly implement the change over the next 3 months so AS have a chance to change their practices for whats to come. Doing one big nerf hurts everone and gets a lot of PO people. Alsoremember, composite is better becouse its heavy. If other armor becomes as good, then composite needs to be lighter or the other heavier.

Regardless of what you Hardcore Armorsmiths say, bottom line is the Armorsmith trade needs a revamp badly. Only reason you guys dont want the revamp is because you control the market with your mass producing of 80% kientic 70% base composite and you know everyone wants it.
One major probably with composite armor is doctor buffs. If the buffs were 1/2 as strong then AS would have to concentrate on reducing encumbrancing more then maxing out stats. But since buffs are so powerful nobody worries about encumbrance.
Master Doc Buffs + Ubber Composite Armor = People solo'ing Night Sisters and all the POI's,these werement to be for groups not people who solo it and camp it all day to get all the loots. If you make it so you need 5-10 people to do the POI's where the good loot is, then you would eliminate the camping, because all 5-10 people would have to camp and the odds are against that all of them are willing to stay there for several hours every day.
I'm willing to take the armorsmith revamp if part of the revamp is making it easier to get RIS compoents... As it is now, its just a legend, nobody but a few have actually seen it in the game... and those who do have it, i gurantee they dont use it in battle. I know if i spend 10-15 million for a suite I wouldnt want to wear it in battle.
Composite needs to be nerfed, (and some of the lower level armors need to be improved), but I'm pretty skeptical that the Devs will get it right. Personally I think composite should have its resists lowered by 15-20%, and it should be given one more vulnerability. If the Devs don't give comp any more vulnerabilities, then I have a feeling that its going to remain the most dominant armor.
The biggest thing I'm afraid of is how the combat rebalance is going to affect pre-nerf items. Here's the three ways that I think it might go down...
- Pre-nerf items are still usable - Everyone who stocks up on items before the rebalance will be able to dominate in PvP and PvE for months to come. Obviously this would be a terrible way to do things.
- Pre-nerf items are rendered unusable - Tons of players will be outraged to find that weapons and armor that they have spent millions of credits on are now worthless. In particular, I would be royally pissed if I had dropped some very nice Armor Attachments into a suit of armor that is suddenly rendered invalid after the rebalance. Just like option #1, this method would be a terrible way to do things.
- Pre-nerf items must be converted to post-nerf items - This would be the best way to do things, but it would also involve the most new coding. Also, considering the problems had with the pet-swapping system back when CH was rebalanced, I wouldn't be too confident in the devs getting the item conversion system right.
YAY! Not a day too soon (rather 6 month too late).
Now I only need to see some fixes to CM and I will be a happy.

Crap. I hate this idea.
I need to have more info on what exactly they plan on doing though.
One this is for sure, I will not be happy if all of my schematics, segments, and armor are turned into useless rubish. At least grandfather the pre-nerf stuff in.
grandfathering the pre-nerf stuff is the worst idea on how to handle the re-balance. There will be no reason to be an armorsmith for at least 6 months. We will know this is coming, and be able to make TONS of the really good stuff. Even if it is sprung on us, there are plenty of AS's who have a ton of great comp already crated. That means that PvP and PvE would be even more unbalanced, as the rich get richer, so to speak.
If/when they do nerf armor, they need to adjust all current existing armor. If they just applied a 1-1 mapping of resists, then we would still need those uber resources we've spent so long collecting, as anything else would produce even lower resist armor.
