When the day comes that you are unable to find a decent AS due to the way the dev's have treated the profession and you are unable to wear any armor you will understand.

All i can see is "cry cry cry" could some intelligent AS actually tell me what the problem is? I tried to browse but all i can find is whining. If any of you care this is what it looks like to an outsider:
"Our armor isn't godlike anymore, omg we're worthless"
"Omg all our corr did was get us to spam the devs, what's bad about that?"
So please, I truly want to be concerned about you guys, but the posts i'm reading just make you guys look like Jedis crying about nerfs. So i'm not trying to be a troll, i came here out of concern when i heard "the AS are in a riot" and then I can't even find one post saying anything intelligent about what has happened...please...help me not think of you guys as crybabies, cause i really don't want to.

Bottom line, the corr did something without thinking first and did it off feelings, which turned around and bite him in the butt, that set off and already ticking time bomb in the AS forums due to so many ongoing "key word ONGOING" changes on the TEST CENTER.

i can only imagine your correspondant was a figurehead of the majority i'm seeing here...2-3 intelligent posts the rest are "SHUTUP YOU KNOW NOTHIGN! YOU SUCK! GO AWAY TROLL! YOU DISAGREE WITH US IN EDUCATED FORM USING LOGIC AND COUNTERPOINTS THEREFORE YOU ARE A TROLL!!!!!!!"

Yes, i truly have been educated about the problem here. Thanks. Now I know this is nothing more than the later noob cryfest instead of a real problem. Thanks.

Ibont: YOu are wrong. I'm sorry, if you are gonna stand by your claim that armor does nothing, you are proving you are an idiot. Armor is VERY helpful, its just not the 90% crap anymore. THe second i hit novice carbineer and picked up a suit of armor i felt empowered and could take down things i didn't have a prayer of killing before...so yeah..it does nothing....

I mean, I guess its only useful for absorbing damage...i guess that plan to have armor also turn into a girlfriend when you take it off got the axe and that's all the fuss

By the way, i'm quite sure they fired him for no reason...yes yes...everyone in jail is innocent too.
He broke his contract, he got players to spam the devs, surely if any of you can call down for a sec you can see that's exactly what happened, he messed up. Its frustrating to not get answers, but you guys aren't the only ones being left in the darka bit during the CU, so settle down and quit acting like spoiled brats

When you get shovled the stuff from the devs for so long you tend to break. They broke, its retarded the order they fix things. Go to the smuggler forums, their revamp info is sticked, the thread was started back in early 2004, how long has pistoleer been broken? forever, it has never been fixed. They put an IMAGE DESIGNER REVAMP BEFORE they FIXED other problems in the game. ID's didnt complain about the current system, it had nothing to do with the performance of the game, players, combat system, crafting system.

totally missed the sticky thread on my way in yes, my bad, and i've read it now, my ongoing replies are those who replied with points in this thread, i have now read that and feel a bit more informed, now i'm just trying to see how many goons are gonna come out with "the sky is falling" theories about how armorsmith is completely worthless...

Its the same cry that swordsmen and most melee made when Warcry got nerfed the first time....

then the second time...

then the 3rd...

Its the same one that was made when jedi get anything tweaked about them

its the same one that was made when any change was made to any class...there's no rational acceptance of any changes...9/10 times its the same "OMG the devs hate us, i'm cancelling my accounts, my class is worthless"

Yet its amazing...swordsman were not only still around after those nerfs....and don't forget the bleed nerfs too....but they were big time FOTM....

Defense stackers...same way...

Jedi....yeah..lemme tell ya...those have just vanished...never see any jedi in this game...nope

So how about you guys take a deep breath and calm down, NO ONE gets responses from the devs as timely as they would like especially with the CU stuff they are being very secretive about its future....so jsut chill

# Experimentation more or less removed from the game (ie no diversity in armor anymore)
# Massively increased resource requirements (lets say 200% price increase as a result)
# They ditched named resources AS has been saving for the last 2 years
# And replaced them with around 20 new named resources
# Hard core crafters cant leave the doorstep without risking instant-death by krettles (we cant wear armor anymore)
# Armor certifications...
# Faction armor hideously expensive (you think RIS was expensive?)

Ok here's where you'll start flaming me, but let's see....

#1: What do you mean? I haven't played crafter on TC and this is the first I've heard of experimenting being gone...do you mean its more difficult? the resources are less "flexible", or is it actually removed?

Basically instead of the two major and one minor experimentation lines we had to choose where to put our points, there is nowreally just one. And to be honest, you wouldn't get the picture unless you had been a crafter on both live and test.

#2: Maybe its payback for armor being so overpriced in the first place? But come on, I'd really like to see the better armor types a little more rare, your average joe schmoe in SW doesn't run around is badass armor...

Errr not necessarily. On some servers maybe, but for me myself, and a lot of other AS I know, the prices are fair. Most rich AS are those that have been here since early on and have sold a LOT of suits....

Now of course, there is not really any such thing as a better armour type. A suit of Chitin is likely to be exactly the same as a suit of Ubese/Mabari/Composite in terms of total effectiveness. Once a toon gets an armour certification they can go straight to top of the line armour.

#3: about the resources....they did this in the past to other profs...they lived....but i feel for ya, i do, but come on...its not THAT bad

Well you know, I've only been as AS for 5-6 months, and only made Master a month ago (I didn't grind) I was unsupported by a guild, and spent a lot of time and energy (& credits) buildinga stock of resources that I knew I would need when Master. And now most of it is useless, and I need to go out again etc.... so yes - it is almost THAT bad, and not just for the established smiths.(I say almost as I'm not completely conviced as to what way this will go at this time - it may end positive - who knows?)

#4: So you might actually have to have help from combat classes? since missions were brought back down to normal pay range...combat classes don't have any "creative" means of making cash...escorting crafters might be a fun new thing in the game....btw, kreetles don't aggro...things like Thugs and Pirates do....kinda realistic though don't you think if they attack a solo crafter with loads of goodies on him to rob him?

Firstly, I thought the intention was to not force group play, secondly, while I like the idea in concept, I cannot conceive of regularly being able to find a group of ppl to run around with me for a couple of hours randomly over various planets, just in case I get jumped by a bunch of butterflies..... Besides, for me - I was hoping that the days of one-shot incapps were going to be over. Now they happen even more.

#5 Armor certs....that will take 2 hours for any gamer to reach...no one could afford armor before this point anyway so what's that gonna change?

Any gamer that chooses to go the combat character route, maybe.... But for other crafting chars? And also think of, say roleplayers, who now cannot wear their nice suit of Stormtrooper armour as they use the wrong gun. The beef was not with Armour certs as an idea, just the the way they were implemented.

#6 I'm totally uninformed on this one...so no comment

Basically, as well as the resources costs which are same/similar to other suits, there will be faction point costs for both AS and customer. Most AS do not have massive combat skills, so cannot grind faction, so will have to buy from smuggler, etc and so on.

Ok, so hopefully you may have a bit more of an idea.... ps - I was being very brief with this
