Ok then explain to me why their post about the final respec warning magically 'vanished'

They just chose random posts to delete? Yes that's right, me and thousands of other people are just 'imagining' we didn't get a warning. Silly me!

How useful was that post anyway? It's not needed anymore.

All that matters is there are people that did see the final respec message which shows that it works.

End of story, case closed, no further whining/complaining/moaning needed.

I cansee a problem with the way the message was given, what I can't agreewith is that it didn't work.

We understand some players are experiencing issues with the respec ability ending. Unfortunately, Customer Service will no longer be able to fix these issues. The respec timer started when first logging in after the Combat Upgrade went live on April 28, 2005. The timeframe has since been extended multiple times. If you logged in on April 28th, your respec timeframe would have ended on May 25, 2005. We have given advanced notice in the update notes, as well as posting multiple warnings on the forums about the respec time ending and to be careful when respec’ing.

Unlike many other games, SWG offers players the ability to respec at any time, via standard gameplay and the surrendering/earning of skills. Going forward, all character template changes will need to be made through the legitimate earning of experience and application of that experience to the appropriate skill boxes.

Again, Customer Service will no longer be assisting with respec issues.

Thank you for your patience.

There you have it, we experience issues and they say tough luck. Bad customer service from any standpoint. Period.

They understood some players were having issues with respec, realized it was the player's fault, thenrealized they should probably stop devoting so much customer service time to it. What's wrong with that?

Good I'm glad you understand now.

Im sorry, I have to go with this one:

"Below is the warning message that will pop-up in game for your last character respec:

*WARNING* - Your ability to respec is about to expire.

Your ability to respec your character is about to expire. You may still respec your character during this session, however, once you log out from this session, your ability to respec will be revoked. Please make sure that the way your character is when you leave this session is your final desired configuration."

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Good I'm glad you understand now.

You forgot the part about it being the player's fault, but I'm glad we have come to an agreement.

I'm not denying the fact that players are having problems with respec.

I am however denying that the message doesn't exist and doesn't popup.

They put the message in there, you chose to type /respec instead of waiting to see said message.

It is your fault.

the problem is between the victms and the CSR/DEV department. if u re happy about YOUR situation, im really glad for u. but stop making things even harder for ppl that got majorly screwed by this SOE error ok?

/respec

* All existing characters that have not used /respec will have 21 days from the date they login (after CU went to Live servers) to utilize their /respec abilities. After 21 days the above pop-up message below will be shown to alert the player of their final /respec.

* The Respec timer has been extended for all players who logged in directly after the CU went Live to 6 additional days from today. On the 6th day please read your respec pop-up boxes very closely. Any mistakes made will not be corrected by Customer Service.

Below is the warning message that will pop-up in game for your last character respec: *WARNING* - Your ability to respec is about to expire.

Your ability to respec your character is about to expire. You may still respec your character during this session, however, once you log out from this session, your ability to respec will be revoked. Please make sure that the way your character is when you leave this session is your final desired configuration.

The following is the standard respec message:

You have been authorized to respec your character; that is, to reassign your skills and player statistics. If you would like, we can begin this process now. We recommend, however, that you play with your existing character long enough to determine what you would like your new skills to be.

Click "Yes" to begin the process now, "Later" to be reminded later, and "Never" to never be reminded again.

You may also begin the respec process at your leisure by using the command "/respec".

I will answer this the same way I have answered it before.

Some people got the message because they did not type /respec first thing when logging on and waited for the box asking whether you want to respec or not to appear

On the other hand, some people logged right in, typed /respec, andnot realizing it was their final respec, shot themselves right square in the foot.

Know what would've been a simple fix to this whole situation? Removing the /respec and /ui action skillsRespec commands thus forcing people to actually look at the box that popped up.

Its noone else fault but your own that you cant read a calender, or a watch. Accept that fact that you are, in fact, an idiot, and will enventually be an unfortunate casualty to prove Darwin correct. Thus making the world better for the rest of us, that do understand the concept of a calender and a watch.

You were warned.

Repeatedly.

Yet you people are still crying about it.

Spamming the forums about it will not change it.

Flooding CSR chat about it will not change it.

Filing repeated tickets will not change it.

You are putting the game into a grinding halt because of your own stupidity.

i did not grind out my template with respec. I choose to respec to master lightsaber master defender fotm template becasue when they added in action costs to sabers you had to recraft them for a 96 percent efficency because all the current 96's became 100's... i did this then pub 17 hit for a hole day and stuck me with the fotm template....

it is bullcrap that I am made to suffer like soo many others because soe has horrible customer realtions

You are not made to suffer.

One button can cure all your suffering.

The cancel button.

It is not a myth, oh no! SOE will stop taking money from you and you will no longer be able to play the game.
