Ok, so i guess in real life your a speech writer for those moron politicians.

I was meerly pointing out the fact that anyone that gets satisfaction from this game is a sad individual who has not lived. Im saying this because i have lived and continue to do so every day. I am 21 years old, my father was a caretaker and my mother is unemployed. yet i have already travelled the world twice, seen things you can only have nightmares about and helped people with things that charity and aid can not provide, Human compassion.

Pretty soon i will be joning the army to learn 4 different trades, then when i turn 27 i am going to join the red cross and help out in countries across the world with disaster relief.

I also run a few websites which give me enough income to live on whilst doing things you see as trivial, such as taking blind people out shopping, helping people who are less fortunate live the full potential of they lives they have, and teaching others to become a member of society for themselves., and allowing them to some day go out to work and make relationships of their own., with dignity and pride of what they have Achieved with their own determination to carry on.

The statement i made was purely so SoE would realise that there are 2 types of gamers. Gamers that come to relax, and gamers that sit 24/7 in the world of SoE, and know nothing than the 4 walls in which they sit. In an ironic sort of way you are less fortunate then the many less abled people i know. You have your mobility and choose to waste it doing nothing. Some of these people would kill to have their mobility to allow them selves to do what you take for granted.

Yes, SoE is trying to run a business, but there should be laws that govern that business. There are laws that say lorry drivers should not drive for more than 4 hours at a time, There are laws which prevent people from busking on the streets to earn enough money for a hot cup of tea, yet there is no law that stops people from wasting their lives away infront of a machine. That is irony. The rich get richer, whilst the people they get rich from become worthless.

And yes, i feel i am in a position to question the choices others have made, because i have made my decisions based on alot more fact about human nature than you will ever know. But you are right in one thing, i do not know what all of you do. All i ask is for people to look around and open their eyes to reality, not hide away in a cupboard infront of a machine whilst life passes them by.

amazing, how do you even get time to play this game... or are you just here to help?

You cant compare this to a lorry drivers resting schedules... we dont kill anyone if we fall asleep on the keyboard (i would hope)

All the things you say you've done and the places you say you've been....

Sorry I just don't believe you. I think it's more likely that you've never been anywhere or done anything for yourself or for anyone else. Your rhetoric is that of a spoiled child who has been convinced by his coddling parents that he is something special and that what HE thinks is some how more valid than any other point of view. I'm 32 yrs old, five years in the Marine Corps, twice combat veteran on seperate occasions in seperate countries, have visited 32 countries in my travels in and out of the military, just to scratch the surface of my life experience. DO NOT assume to tell me that what I do with my free time is a waste. For one thing it is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS what I do w/ my free time. Nor is it your place to tell me what to feel pride in and what not to feel pride in. You are a pompus a$$ and I sincerely hope you do join the military so that you can ge a REAL dose of what life is. You have made it paifully apparent that you have 0.00 r/l xp. You wanna preach? go to seminary school and become a preacher. Sell you worthless opinion to those who want it, obviously no one here does.

Good grief folks. Why does this subject always have to spark a flame war. Having been a player since launch I maybe I'm just desensitized to afk grinders.

For first timers to a profession, I wouldn't recomend grinding (afk or otherwise) if you can avoid it. You really do lose learning opportunities about the profession by doing that. You end up asking some really stupid questions on the forums when you have 'mastery' and don't know even the fundamental info about said profession. You'll learn alot about the profession just crafting whatever the profession makes (armor in my case) and sell it as you can. Sure you might grind some, but you'll learn a lot just playing with the various schematics.

Having said that though. There is a lot asharp'newb' can learn about a profession offline before training even one box in that profession. In that case 'playing with the schematics' may not be as applicable. In that case simply getting to master to be usefull to the community is their goal. In that case maybe grinding up to mastery isn't so much a cheat as some seem to think.

On the other hand there are players that have been shifting around their skills for over 2 years now. Surrendering a skill set doesn't mean I forgot how to do it. If I decide later that I want to take up that profession again, there is absolutely no reason to go through the motions like I was a 'newb' again. I was lucky I got to respec when I reactivated after the CU and that was great. I got to try out all kinds of professions. In the end I returned to my roots as an Armorsmith. But not everyone has that opportunity.

So what am I trying to say? Grinding? Meh. Just try to use crap resources and try not to ask silly quesitons on the forums. (at least read the stickies first!)

Wow, you're so busy saving the world it's a wonder you have time to come online and berate the rest of us for being "sad morons". But that's okay, I know how it is to be busy. Why between running a Fortune 500 corporation, doing all kinds of charity work, networking with celebrities, making love to one of my many super-model girlfriends, saving the world for democracy and being a professional race car driver, I barely have time to post anything on these forums.

/sigh So much to do; so little time.

not to be rude but I was reading thru this and I saw this......I dont know who told you that you would be learning 4 diff trades in the army. Im currently in the army and have been for 8 years, Ill tell you the trades ive learned: My MOS (Aircraft powerplant repair), how to paint rocks, how to mow grass, how to give a IV (good one there), how to pull guard duty in Iraq, how to shoot a M249 Squad automatic weapon, how to sleep in a small tent with 45 other people while its raining lol. Might want to check with the SGT again and ensure what trades youll be learning. The army isnt the Disney Land picture they gave you..

Just my two cents......o yea...dang afk grinders!

Deleted? Ok fine, it's only information though. I neither condone nor endorse the use of 3rd party programs in SWG. It has a perfectly functional ingame macro system.

Do agoogle search for Auto It. It is against EULA. If you decide to do this make sure it is in your residence and not at a public crafting station. I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble for doing it at their residence, but i will not say that this is OK to do.
