I looted 7 scales last weekend with my ranger/rifleman... hope they really didnt nerf the droprate. I want to burn a buff session saturday and hopefully get enough scales to finish a couple more suits.

Man Venya I would love to know where you are looking because I drove all over the southern half of the map up to kimo town looking tonight and I couldn't find one!!!!!!
VTS, sorry if I made it seem like I was calling you an exploiter. There is a trick to get a near continuous spawn (may not still be working) for a mob. That is a lot of GDKs to find though. Congrats!!!

Kill 19 GDK's and that included 5 in a row and no loot drops.
So the idea of RIS suits seems far away to me.

Here is my running total since publish
Saturday: 57kills - 16 scales
Sunday: 41kills - 0 scales
Monday: 62kills - 0 scales
Tuesday: 53kills - 0 sclaes
Wednesday: 28kills - 11 scales and still hunting.

we killed 3 gdk's tonight found a spawn and just waited for him to respawn it was like 15-20 mins or something each spawn.
but the 3rd one dropped 4 scales, but i dont know if they are ris ones. they say kimogila scale segment and it has stats like you see for armor segments with base effectiveness and integrity etc.
are those the gdk scales can anyone post a screenie of what they look like so i know what to look for.

The scales for RIS are in a genaric hide container and don't have stats. They look just like the other RIS parts.

Look.., With the solo groups nerfed.., there had to be some sort of way for people who only have fighting skills to gather money.., don't get me rong.., I too agree that sometimes the % of certain loot drop is a bit over-exagerated...
Still not everyone can afford a RIS armor..., despite the fact that we already have a dancer in the theed cantina with a full set on eclipse.., you can still sell it for 40 million... GDK scales still go for 2.5 million.., only have dropped 500k..
True.., it is suposed to be "less common"... but still.., there are much more compleated sets of BH armor still then RIS (god, there are even more people with a NS Bicep then a full RIS suit)... beeing a BH armor harder to find because there are no static BlackSun spawns.., some just appear near certain known areas where they had before..., unlike the RIS components.., in witch, you always had a good drop rate at the Woolo temple for Bones..., King Gurk Hides always sold cheap.., and I'm not even mencioning the feathers.., the GDK scales.. well.. those where at 2%.., in witch.., some people actualy killed over 100 times the GDK at kimo town and never found 1 single GDK scale..
I myself had to alone kill the GDK at kimo town for him to drop me some..., after 11 kills.., he finaly dropped 9 scales... if this remains as such.., I don't see many problems.., because.. well.., not everyone can kill the GDK alone..., and his trainer always spawns with him now..., and when in groups, the loot is always splited..
But true.., some guilds are walking arround with incredible weapons.., those of witch I think that are too many arround, that just well.., make everything seem easy, therefor "corner" such markets due to getting all the kills for certain loot..., I recon that is what the developers didn't take more into consideration.., hopefully they will in the CU though..
Though what I don't agree most is that they changed the re-spawn rate to 15 mins instead of the 45 mins it used to take.., with 10% drop and 15 mins.. I recon they made the same mistake at nyax in the begining..
And those people who get 24 scales in 2 hours are just plain luck.., one can't find 2 spawns of kimos in an eyeblink, much more close...
I'm saying all of this but true.., I now have all the components needed to make a full set.., and couldn't have done it without the patch.., though god knows I tryed, killing the GDK at kimo town 4 times per night some time ago and not getting one scale.
So in the end my conclusion is..., a GDK with 10% drop chance on scales is very good, they are suposed to drop such if killed from time to time..., what isn't is the amount of people that are able to kill it alone so easily like myself.., and to mosteven aloteasier... and that my friend.. is the real reason why now you see more people with RIS.
And as for rare armor my friend.., I can count with the fingers in my hand those who have a mandalorian armor..., in eclipse only a few exclusive groups are strong enough to venture into the DWB and do its quests for the componets..
I don't think that will ever change..., same goes for the change to get a exceptional / legendary item,,, RIS is just something armorsmiths can make out of never so rare to find components..., its not meant to be common, and it never will..., but as rare as almost impossible to get.., it was never its intention..
Besides.. the RIS 's protection mods may vary from the AS that makes them..., making them with diferent grades, some better, some worst.., therefor, some more expensive, some less.. despite the fact that you may see some people with some.. doesn't mean that they all have good mods. (problem is most are getting it done by the same AS, witch since we are in eclipse it happens to be one of the best of the entire game, if not the best, but now you'll have to wait since he will only take 2 requests per day

I think it may be just luck, as last night was able to loot 32 scales from about 40 kills,
night before, couldn't even find a spawn!

I'm a Master sword with a good temp and have been hunting GDK's on and off for almost 2 yrs.
I have killed over a 100 and no RIS GDK scales, I can solo 3-4 on a buff.
How do you kill 40 in a night, group? and how is in your group.
Please help I have tons of everything else to make RIS just no GDK.
IS there a best way to kil them, we dont want to go into the GDK scale buisness I just want enought to make 2 sets.

My hunting partner and I can get GDK down in about 6mins he is the tank/doc MSwords/MDoc and I am the damage dealer 0040 Commando I am reworking my template from a melee stacker so I have lost my tanking abilities He spams Hit3 and intimidate and sends up the occasional area disease cure while i spam flame1/2 and cone 1. we make sure to pull them far enough away to keep the spawn going.
