Thread: GDK Scale Drops

A friend and I have just spent about 2 and a half hours on Lok GDK hunting.
In that time we found about 36 GDKs. From those GDKs we looted 5 sets of GDK Scales, totalling 24, for RIS armour. Isn't RIS supposed to be rare? At this rate everyone in the game will have a suit in a month or two....
It seems the drop rate AND the spawn rate was increased. Fair enough increase one, but both of them? The drop rate needs to be put back to what it is was, this is just crazy.

its still relatively rare... its not a drop everytime thing... but i think they are attempting to normalize the market now... and remove camping as a necessity

Well camping is not really an issue with wild spawning creatures, and increasing their spawn rate is another nice way to deal with that. I just don't agree with increasing the drop rate as well. Rare things have to exist in the game or it becomes truely pointless and boring very very quickly.

If you cry nerf because there dropping to much the devs will hear you and actually do it then you wont get any drops at all. Then you will cry where is my loot this game sucks blah blah blah. Just look at the krayt situation now NO pearls are droppng at all. How is RIS armor supposed to be rare? God forbid if someone went out looking for some actual content looting the componets needed to make something cool in this game and actually gettingit made.
It would just be horrible if if a casual player got something cool with some effort. I know I sure enjoy spending 15 bucks a month tocompete with afk loot wh0res,the unemployed, children without jobs, and e-bayers sellin creds/items.
Ill be getting a suit of RIS made then im going to be helping other people in the guild by looting the parts needed so our guild Armorsmith can make it for them as well. Free of course because of my guildies it costs me almost nothing to go looting...free armor free weapons free buffs the only thing it costs me is time. But having great friends you play a game with well thats priceless.

some of us do not have the time to go out and kill 40-50 of these guys ( we actualy have other more important things to do than play a game). So why should only the power gamers have access to this content, we both pay the same amount so get over it. Easier loot drops are great opens the game up to the more non power gamers.

your missing the point behind 'rare' loot. not everybody is supposed to be running around wearing RIS or wielding excpetional/legendary items.
im not sure why everybody feels that everyone on every server is excpected to have the best of everything. the concept is ridiculous. otherwise, people have nothing to strive for in this game.

Well you people saying RIS should be rare got your wish now the GDK scales are broken again! Thanks! I just wasted about 4 hours of my time. RIS shouldnt be rare its supposed to be crafted its made rare from the hardcore powergamer loot wh0res and e-bayers that camp every spawn point and K'S ever chance they get True RIS isdifficult to get but it shouldnt have to be impossible for the non power gamer to aquire the game shouldnt have to revolve around from someone who spens 16 hours a day amassing items and credits to make themselves feel speacial.

my 2 cents....
I spent my buff session last night swooping around LOK and have been there each night for the last 4 days. I found 1X 4 GDK spawn, no RIS comps looted, only deleted armor scales. The one thing I did notice was that wild spawns of anything seemed rare. For the most part it was me and swoop, and the desert. It reminded me of dant last year when when u could fly for days without a single spawn of anything. I must have zig zagged over 30K of distance on the southern part of the planet. What did I see zip.... GDK ha not even a dang mylok.
My point, just because you happen to have a run of nice loots does not equate to everyone on your server getting a , "rare piece of armor". Now if you toon is a M. Ranger and you are tracking GDK's, then great for you, but I would guess that the total ranger pop of each server is less than 5%. That would make your char an elite RIS lewt component finder. Not a bad prof idea.
First people complained when these guys only dropped 1 unit per. Then they complained when they didn't drop. Now I see cries when they get a bunch. What gives????
As for me it took me about 20 or so kills to get my set of 7X, a bit of hunting and luck. I really don't see what the prob is...
