Thread: The thing people have been waiting for: What armors are certified for which professions.

Its about near impossible to plant harvestors on higher level planets without buffs and the increased creature spawns, so I think it stinks that crafters are being left out of certifications. Especially if Doc and BE are included. It doesn't make sense and I hope the DEVs are open to modifying it.

I wouldn't worry about it. They are going to need to do something about all the pre-elite professions. Non of them get any type of armor under the CU right now.

No, that is precisely what they are - I believe the devs have already said that you will not be able to equip armor unless you have the appropriate certification.

ZionHalcyon is correct, if you DO NOT have the first series of Mitigating numbers in the Novice box, you can not equip that style ofarmor. If you untrain the novice box that grants you the basic mitigators it will strip that armor off you.

Ooh, awesome - Dev response!

If you are still viewing, quick question.

If I train in 2 elite novice professions (say, carbineer and BH) that give me certs for 2 armors (battle and assault), do I need to be holding a weapon appropriate to the profession to equip the armor or can I equip both armors regardless of what weap I am holding?

In other words, BH gets assault, but if I am also a novice carb, can I equip battle armor while holding an LLC?

Ok, enough with the melodramatics.

Seriously.

As armorsmiths, we have ALWAYS been able to see what we made looked like by dropping a set of armor off in our house and checking it out. Beyond that, there is NO NEED for us to really be able to equip armor.

Would it be nice, convenient, and helpful? Sure. Is it CRUCIAL, NECESSARY, or ESSENTIAL?

Hardly.

Seriously, enough crying over this. It makes sense, and to give us the ability to equip armor could lead to exploits.

Think about it - its funny because its TRUE. Yeah, just grind up AS and you can wear ANYTHING! Sorry, but that smacks of an exploit to me. When I go to a clothing store, I don't see models parading around in the store's wares....I see stuff on hangars.

All the armor is cool and all, but whatever happened to professions that wen't suposed to have armor? Last time I checked, Han Solo and Lando didn't run around in their Ubeese armor. (Which was actually worn by a Ubeese BOUNTY HUNTER, which is currenctly going the assault-armor route...) Are there still going to be constant-buffs from professions not designed to have armor in the first place?

Now the only remaining question is...

If I have 2 combat professions that grant certs for 2 different types of armor....lets say I'm a COmmando/TKA... if I wear the armor granted to me as a Commando, do I still have full access to all TKA abilities, modifiers, and specials?

That is precisely what I am trying to find out. I am all for the system thus far, but at the very least, I want to equip any armor I am certed for, regardless of what weapon I am holding, etc.

If I go master rifleman, master carbineer, for instance, I want to be able to wear both battle and recon armor, regardless of whether I have a rifle or carbine in my hand.
