Is it only weaponsmiths that can repair weapons?, or can master artisans do it aswell?

Also if you have a particular prized weapon, try to find a Master WS who has Repair mod skill tapes/Armor attachments too, just gives you that little bit of an edge.

I agree with the above posts...i know several weaponsmiths who use +repair mods, and it works like a charm for them. Also, they've said that weapons usually seem to repair better when they're about 30% condition, i.e. 300/1000, while weapons that were still in relatively good shape (above 50%) seemed more likely to have a repair that reduced the condition dramatically. Good luck

Does a WS have any better chance of good repairs than Joe Blow using a weapon repair tool?

Most people tend to think so, although I have yet to see solid experimental data to support this theory.

Has anyone seen a SOLID study on this topic yet?

The only thing that will affect this is whether you have Items w/+Repair skill tapes in them.......

Master weaponsmiths have as much of a chance of destroying a weapon as you do.

Weaponsmiths do have a better chance. The devs have officially said so. I don't remember where the post was, but I read it. They said that weaponsmiths have a innate bonus to repairing weapons but they didn't say how much or what the difference it makes is.

Repair SEAs apparently have no effect, and since publish 7 everyone's repairs areequally bad, with 70%+ chance of major condition loss.

I've only carried out 4 repairs in recent memory - 3 weapons and 1 piece of armour. I'm not a Master in any crafting prof, but I've gotten "minor blemishes" on all 4 repairs. Only thing I can suggest is get yourself those 100.00 functionality rated repair tools as that's what I'm using.

I have been playing for a long time now and I feel like a noob asking this but....... I've always repaired my own weapons with a 99% weapon repair kit and the item loses some of it max condition (which i expect since i'm not a weaponsmith) Recently i've started purchasing krayted weapons and was wondering if when weaponsmiths repair weapons do they still suffer a decay in the item or does their skills they've aquired keep the item at max condition or at least a condsiderably reduced decay when repaired? If this is the case, do weaponsmith usually provide this service if asked? I'd be willing to supply the weapon repair tool also. I don't know why i hadn't thought of this before now. I probably could've save myself some money and time searching for vendors.

Read this thread. Since I read this, I tell my customers to repair themselves @ 300 condition (and not to go below 200 in any case).

If you are super paranoid, yes seek out a MWS, and you might have a smaller chance of it failing. But be prepared to lose at least 20% of the max condition either way.

I have a beef with the repair system in the game. It should be set so that a master of whatever particular craft should have a significant repair bonus so there would be an extremely low chance that a repair would fail. This could help artisans earn a few extra credits for repairing items.
