Thread: What if...

Regarding point one.....I would first propose to add a new tool, which lets you choose. It would cost a lot of resources to craft, and it would only be craftable by weaponsmiths/armorsmiths. This tool would also have to be used in conjunction with the Clamps.

Point two: Well, that would really revolutionize our profession. First, there would be CRAZY resource gatherers. Miners would make even more money. Second, I'd bet that a lot more smugglers would double up as Weaponsmiths or Armorsmiths. Third, a smuggler's reputation would mean EVERYTHING. I can see it now:

"Hey, can anyone slice my DX2?"

"Sure, I can"

"How do I know that you use high quality resources in your tools?"

And the 15 minute /tell justification begins.

I suppose my preference would be to have confirmation or changes which would basically set the quality of the item itself as the determining factor. This way, it stays beyond our control as smugglers, but customers can still find ways to get great weapons and armor via their preferred smith.

I've said it before... if the smuggler tools state the effectiveness (just like crafting stations have an effectiveness rating) then that would solve the problem.

Then the conversation would go like

"Hey, can anyone slice my DX2?"

"Sure, I can"

"How do I know that you use high quality resources in your tools?"

"Take a look at my tools - see the "14.7"? That mean's my tools are good. If they're 0, then they're average. If they're negative then they're junk".

Hypothetically, ...a city's mayor wished to resign his politician skill points to pursue the grand "holo grind", and a successor had not been voted into office? Or, what if said mayor gave up the game/deleted his character altogether without a "voted in" successor?

What would happen to the city and it's status? (if anything)

Would the next closest in mayoral votes then take the reigns on the city/city hall?

What if Rifleman had one working tree?

What if...Teras Kasi had less melee defense than Rifleman?

What if...Fencer's dodge was broken?

What if...Pikeman always missed?

What if...Heavy Swordsman, weren't so heavy?

What if...Power Boost was broken?

What do they have in common?

They all were like that at one point.

And fixed.

Commando's?

From 4/4ths Broken, with no weapons.

To 3/4ths broken with one weapon.

To still one weapon that works as intended, but less weapons to choose from than any other class.

Combat Balance. The HAR is getting fixed on TC soon.. So it'll be 2/4ths profession broken. It won't be so bad to tide us over til the Combat Balanceif they make the HAR viable.

Constructive criticism at its worst!

While the Weaponsmiths might not care overly much, as they probably won't lose a lot of business, the Droid Engineers would raise holy heck if this were to happen. As for now, their only real useful droids are either med droids or BH seeker droids. I do not think it's really bad to have to rely on another profession for crafted items though.

neat idea ... unfortunatelyit does go well with the mechanics of the game. If one class could become totally self succifcient it would disrupt the economy greatly and throw it even more out of wack then it is now. Thats assuming that we could make compairable items to what a master of each proffession (weaponsmmith/armorsmith/chef/smuggler ect) could make otherwise why bother giving us the ablitie to make sub standard equipment.

Actually I'd pefer to not beable to craft a damn thing if I could trade the ablity to make camps and trapps for some offensive/defensive bounuses

I'm sure this has been discussed before as there are quite a few intelligent people on these forums. I was thinking about it though, what would really make BH worthwhile (to me) as a profession, is to at least give us the option to completely be self sufficient.

Give us the ability to spend all 250 skill points and allow us to craft our own droids, craft our own weapons and craft our own armor. Make it tough and all the components quest components but make it worthwhile. Make all the weapons, armor and droids non tradable so only the BH that crafts the weapon, armor or droids would be able to use them but nonetheless, having that ability would really make it a great profession.

Overall, when I think Star Wars, I think Jedi, Smugglers/Thugs and Bounty Hunters. It really depresses me that all three professions pretty much suck in this game. At least Jedi are finally starting to get some attention.

Sigh. Just a thought.

Well, they could make it to where we were still reliant upon Armorsmiths for getting armor segments and tailors for getting clothing and weaponsmiths for getting weapons components but we would do the final assembly and modifications to everything we craft. Allow it to be like lightsabre construction. Different pieces allow for the weapons or armor to have different abilities, defenses, stats. I agree on the droids though, that would really suck the life out of their profession.

I'm really struggling here... It just seems to me that BH should be more reward for the price.. We need something more and it can't really be combat related because then everyone else would start complaining.

Right now I see little to no reason to be a BH and it frustrates me to no end because it's such a wicked profession, in concept.

Sigh.

You would not have to rely on crafters for just components, as a lot of components drop as loot. The developers are more apt to increase component drops than complete item drops, just to please the crafter professions.

It really goes along the line of being a scout or ranger though. We can craft a lot of stuff, camps and traps, but only others in our profession can use them, so their is no market for it.
