Please. Enough already.

Ah, where are your snotty retorts? Oh wait, it's time to be civil. Tsk... tsk... remember what happened to Sejanus.

We ARE the butt of the jokes right now, because the community is throwing a 3-year old temper tantrum. The only people who seem to be rallying behind the AS's are those who want the old system, so they can continue to abuse it.

As opposed to the new system that is like connecting the dots? And you've yet to explain any 'abuses' in the old system.

I explained them a ton in the post where Okram was advocating PMing the devs to death.

For starters, how about the glitch that allowed AS to make composite as good as it was (when it NEVER was meant to be that good).

I could also bring up 12 AS's buying up skill tapes in order to prevent others from buying them and competing?

There are plenty of abuses that were taken advantage of while the devs looked away. And now that they are looking at them and fixing them, people are crying.

And believe me, they were crying long before the oversimplified exp line - that is just the latest in the laundry-list of rallying cries the AS forum has used to try to keep AS as broken as it is.

I am in no way saying the CURB is all that and a slice of pizza, but in order to get change - you have to meet the devs on THEIR terms, not ours. And that means a new rebalance. Therefore, it would be wiser and more prudent to see what can be added to make the NEW system fun, instead of asking the devs to bastardize it so that it is as broke as the old system.

First off, your kissing up the the Devs is starting to get annoying at this point.

Secondly, despite the fact that composite may or may not have been MEANT to be that good, it was in now way breaking any of the game mechanics or going beyond what was coded in the game to make composite that good. THEREFORE WAS NOT AN ABUSE!

laughing stock, butt of jokes on other forums...? I have yet to see that...From what I have seen, most other profs are supporting AS's...moreso than I have ever seen.

Zion, with all due respect, PLEASE stop lecturing everyone...you don't represent all of us nor speak for all us...yet

It's frustrating, thats all. I told you all this will happen. And I am not saying that to be all "nyah" - it really has me depressed, and a lot of this is venting at a community I felt should have handled itself FAR BETTER than it did.

I want to see progress. I want to see someone have the balls to do the right thing, even if it IS unpopular, and say they overall support the CURB, but we need to have the devs tweak things in order to make sure the profession isn't oversimplified. And we need someone to have PATIENCE.

The community has represented NONE of this, and it frustrates me.

Part of this has to do with my first profession, Creature Handler. Back in the day, we were one heck of a fun profession. But people abused it, and the devs saw fit to make changes. Now, at that time, there were plenty of good ideas that, if maturely presented, might have kept a lot of CH's fun and usefullness intact. But instead, all those ideas got drowned out like they are here, and now CH is as about as useful as a bra on a frog.

And now, I see history repeating itself with AS.

To go through it once is frustrating. To go through it TWICE is mind-splitting. THAT is why I am so harsh with the community. I am tired of people who think they are helping their profession, when in fact they are only helping to bury it.

I didn't get anyone banned. If he were a man (and I assume this is his alt), he would take responsibility for his own actions and realize he got himself banned.

I can't speak for other professions, or even everyone in my own, but as a smuggler who has played since launch, I support you and know many smugglers do as well. Smugglers, as you might know, aren't strangers to such sad situations.

I just wanted to say I'm not laughing at you and I know I'm not alone in the smuggler's community. I sympathize with your concerns and especially, your love of your profession.

I wish you the best of luck.

Those of us who are not AS are not laughing at you, and you are not the butt of jokes. All of us think that what is happening to your craft may soon hit ours.

Zion, believe me I understand your frustrations...with everyone involved...but please remember: "...even if the customer is not always right, you better listen to him (her)"...Being responsive is goal #1 in ANY service/subscription oriented industry...That includes MMORPGs. It is much easier to keep existingcustomers satisifed and coming back to purchase your product than to win new customers (not to mention some good word of mouth PR!). Customer loyalty is what will make SOE flourish if they address this CU properly. Negative feedback and, even worse, 'shutting down' that negative feedback, can only hurt the corporation. Shutting out the existing player base's concerns (not just AS's but for many crafter profs) so close to CU going live is dreadful customer relations, especially since so few details have been posted. These are well-deserved gripes. Granted, many folks are hot under the collar, but they seem to have aright to be.

I would recommend you just tone it down a bitwith berating the AS community for these reactions. LOL, give it a few days...They have been slighted and are venting...Unfortunately, SOE's recent lack of communications re: the upcoming core AS changes has everyone upset...rightfully so imo. To have 1-2years of hard work simply invalidated with the brush of a dev's keystroke and then not listening to (and in some cases actively silencing)the existing customer base's dissenting concernsis really what is at the heart of the current AS community's discontent.

And with only about 3 weeks before the CU hits live, we ALL haveserious doubtsthatthese concerns will be addressed in any meaningful manner. We have each spent many, many months and millions of credits getting to the top of our game. To have AS'ing so 'equalized' to the point where anew MAS witha fewdaysin-game, 100 Mil Ebay creds (~$30 US) and a modicum of cognitive ability to be able to scrounge up resources off the new bazaar search vendor will be able to compete with established vets of 1-2+ yrs. is unbearable. That is a bitter pill to swallow, my friend...

However, as always in SWG, like you cited with DE, some will stick with it and some won't. I suspect that those that can stomach these changes will do quite well in the long run.

Okram may not have played his cards well here...but he did so presumably out of frustration; I think we all sensedthis over the past 48-72 hours in his forum posts. And I for one believe his heart was in the right place and just threw up his hands and told people to go directly to the devs rather than ask him. From what I saw, he represented us very well and provided many positive suggestions to the dev team. His final act(s) may have broken SOE/correspondent protocol, but this wascertainly not a major issue and one wouldn't think areason to oust a 7+ months volunteer, especially so close to the CU going live.
