Im working hard on my FS slot but im unclear about something. Once you startyour FS char, can you still use you original char on the same server as a kind of benifactor to help you new jedi in the credit department?

Yes. But not have both inlogged at the same time. But you may still switch between them, yes.

Or maybe they are all intelligent, avoiding the horrendously broken trees in commando. What does that make you?
I somewhat agree. I only have heavy and flame, because the other two trees are presently near worthless. In addition, filling two trees just to get master gains very little.

I plan on mastering commando within the week, and then dropping it until it is fixed... at which point I will come back. I am just pretty miffed about how bad the class really is. At the number of skill points one spends to master, I can only think stubborn people keep master.

Not just stuborn people keep it. Some people pick a class because they like it, ... it's them. I wanted to be a commando before launch and after launch. And got to master as quick as I could, even though at that time there were no weapons at all...NONE.
Now is the first time in the game I have consider quiting it almost out of necessity. It is such a shame to suck so bad.
I almost oh it to my fellow PA members to quit in order to be effective in the GCW.

Since when did 0-0-4-0 mean your a commando?
Half the people i see posting anymore claim to be a commando and there titles all say commando 0-0-4-0!
Your nothing more than a run of the mill flame monkey!
Did I ever mention that im a pistoleer (0-0-2-0)
Ok thats my rant for the month.

No, the thunder and music and other sound you hear when you are ready to learn a skill is just an audible alarm like the 'DING' in EverQuest when you leveled, nothing more. I've gotten that sound on every skill of of every profession I've mastered and I'm on 16 right now, if the sound made any difference I'd have unlocked 3 times already...

That's what I said "...the thunder and music and other sound you hear when you are -ready- to learn a skill..."
It might have been a tad unclear but by 'ready' I meant 'qualify'.
