Thread: Top 5 things that you want fixed

1. Armor hole. It should be the only thing submitted.

Drive the point home, this needs to be fixed, ASAP.

2. If you want, submit the shifting stats bug.

These are the two major things that would go a long way in fixing ARMOR, which as armorsmiths should be our primary concern. The experimentation issues are an armorsmith issue, they aren't game breaking and are nothing but an annoyance ( a major one, but not game breaking ). Lets not give the devs any room for confusion, lets get our desire to see armor fixed and working properly in the limelight, and leave profession issues for now.

Everything else listed here is trivial, you people are cluttering up this thread with pipe dreams of tailor dye kits and logos and damage visible on armor. There are a time and place for these suggestions, a 'top 5 things you want fixed" thread is not it.

Amen Ilok.

There are2 major bugs that are hampering the viability and usefulness of armor as a whole in the game. Until those 2 are fixed, everything else should be on the backburner.

  • Armor Hole

  • Stats Shift

  • Experimentation Failure Rate (Too High)

  • Crit Failure on Quest items (ie; RIS Segment, Layer, boots). We shouldn't lose the components in regards to the quest.

  • Padded Armor needs an overhaul:

  1. Blast protection is gimp.

  2. Padded Armor has too many weaknesses and can be easily surpassed by Ubese armor.

  3. Padded Armor schematics requiretoo much hide. In fact Padded armor schematics call for alot of resources, in comparison to other armor types.

  4. Padded armor HAM is too high to make this a viable armor for the protection it affords. Rediculous.

  5. Padded Armor Helmet is the ugliest thing I've seen in this game. I could care less if this armor was showcased in one of the movies; the concept artist was wrong, change the helm design.

1. PSG stat shift, by far. (includes Tantel/RIS)

2. PSG bugginess, the fact that my PSG's haventshown in combat spam as reducingany energy attack for the last 2 weeks while wearing.

3. The bugs from the last patch, (composite color on parts, no health HAM shown. ETC...)

4. Mabari stats. One (Blast I think)is permanently bugged, at 5% or so. It lists as a special resist, but it isn't.

5. New Armor, either factional or otherwise, for lower level armorsmiths, (a full suit of tantel fits into this).

1. What kind of armor you were wearing (all pieces)

55% Advanced Composite - full suit

2. Whether you were wearing a PSG, what the stats on it were, and what condition it had

No PSG

3. Whether you were wearing any other items (shirt, belt, backpack, etc.) and if so, what.

Only a backpack (the BH one)

4. What you were fighting.

Doesn't matter, everything hits the armor hole eventually. As a side note, I ONLY seem to get hit in the body when armor hole 'happens'.

Seriously, you need to make it number #1 and send it alone. I have so many deaths thanks to it, it's not even funny.

Oh, as a side note it did not matter whether I had the backpack on or not. I still took body shots with armor hole regardless if I had it equipped.

Jaato, perhaps this will help...the last report / experiment I saw in the forums with the armor hole was using a slow repeat weapon versus a fast mob. The hole tended to occur when the mob hit twice before you fired back again. At least that is my understanding of the current "hole". It was usually on the second hit that the armor tended to be ignored.

Maybe someone can point you to the exact thread...

hmm, Fluxuation of the stats...

And apparently there is a Cap on how many Exp tapes there is..this is really dumb

More colours, maybe the ability to mold yourown armour..now that would be sweet!

Banished88- I just want to confirm- you were wearing helmet/chest/gloves/boots/legs/both biceps/both bracers? And none of them have condition zero?

What planet were you fighting on? I want to try to duplicate this myself tonight.

If you have the time, can you try something for me? Go to one of the starter planets and agro a lair with blue mobs. Let them wallop on you and see if any of their shots hits the armor hole. This will give me a control to the tests I was running last night.

If any of their shots hit the armor hole, then there's something different in the configuration between our sets of armor that's leading to the armor hole.

If some of their shots hit the armor hole, the mobs you were fighting last night somehow penetrate the armor hole while the blue bunnies don't.

What I would like to see is

1) No more shifting stats.

2) Armor experimentation

3) Armor holde (if this is still around)

4) Repairing.......needs to get a serious rehaul

5)No crit fails on RIS

My experiences with the armor hole seem to reinforce the theory that it is due to too many hits in one second. I wear a full suit of 90% composite armor, so it is VERY easy to tell when a hit gets through. I also wear a Bandolier, belt, and Ubese Shirt. The most dramatic instances of the armor hole have involved several Mobs, usually high level, attacking me with fast kinetic attacks. Gurks on Lok, for example, seem to have a good chance of hitting the armor hole (almost always health) when they surround me and start hitting me every second.

I have dont some Turret killing lateley, and Large Tower and Block turrets seem to have a better than 40% chance of hitting the armor hole. A related bug that may be worthy of attention is that turrets do not show hits in the combat chatter. Instead of a red "a Large Turrets hits you for 800", there is only the green "your armor absorbed 320." This makes it impossible to tell how many hits miss the armor, since they don't read at all. With that in mind, I am basing the likelihood of a turret missing the armor off of the numbers floating off my head, and the amount of damage a turret can do in the 45 seconds it takes for me to kill one.

Anyway, my complaints go as follows:

1. Armor hole

2. Stat shift on RIS and PSG

3. Lack of Stun resist on armor(Jawa Ion is King)

4. Bleeds are based on the size of the hit before armor is calculated.

5. Padded armor should be as good as Composite, but in different ways. (I.E Stun Protection)

6. RIS components rediculously hard to come by, and final result is not worth half the effort.

Now, there is another issue I am loathe to bring up, but it must be addressed. I am the proud owner of a suit of 96% pre-nerf composite armor, and many suits of 90% post-nerf. This armor gives me a strong advantage over anyone in lesser armor, but this is getting out of hand. Almost all hardcore PvPers on Bloodfin now own suits of 85%+ armor. The game has been reduced to stun weapons and DOTs. This cannot go on. The truth is that the combat system of this game is on the verge of a total breakdown due to such overpowered equipment. I take partial responsibilty for bringing this plague upon my server, as I was the first to make 69% composite and slice it up to 90%. I have had to completely redesign my PvP character to take into account the abundance of this new Uber-armor, but this cannot be as intended.

I do not want to cry for a nerf, especialy when I am the owner of perhaps the best suit of armor on any server. However, I can see that this is not the way things should be, and the imbalance caused by 90% armor is plain to anyone who has fought me. I feel that there should be some discussion about the possibilty of lowering the max slice to 80%. It may seem small, but in fact 90% armor is exactly twice as effective as 80%.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being virtually unkillable. I walk around knowing for a fact that I am totally safe from everyone except for Master Rifleman with Jawa ion Rifles, and Combat Medics with mind poison. However, I must also face the fact that anyone with armor like mine is equally unkillable, and so I have had to change my template to favor DOTs and a Tangle Pistol. I know PvP is not perfect, nor will it ever be, but with everyone running around in 90% composite, DOTs are the only thing that matter....and it makes me sad.

This nerf does not need to happen right away, but if it doesn't happen, then the combat re-balancing had better take this stuff into account. I would be surprised if the Dev's and the correspondent know about this problem, and due to the randomness of slicing it is very very expensive to make, so not everyone has it. However, the few that do have this armor are virtually bulletproof, and it's just not fair to the rest of you. 80% is reasonable, but 90% is rediculous. Believe me.

I'm going to say this once, and once only:

This is a company, one that is out to make money, so banning people who hadn't done anything wrong would be really dumb since it would mean that we would be losing money. So before you just believe someone who says they are being wrongfully punished take a moment and reflect.

Also, ranting/flaming and attacking customer service isn't going to fly on these boards so any further posts about it will result in the suspension of that person's forum account.

First, I agree with the top 3.

And I'd like to add just one more.

Tantel

This armor feels incomplete. Ideally, I'd like to see a complete set in our schematics, and an advanced segment so that it falls into line with all the other sets of armor in the game save RIS (which has a layer of it's own, so that may well be advanced segmenting). And at the VERY least, a response from the armor developer as to why tantel is the way it is, in the armor technique stage that it's at.
