Thread: Any coders out there? (C++ type)

The app itself is working great, however the aliases that gets generated seems to need some work. It prints out alot of code with the stats and resource names and its very very hard to read the text that comes out. If you dont get the same results I can get you a screenshot if you like.
Also I have a question, is there a way you can generate a .txt with the resources instead and show that to us somehow? It would be alot easier if one could have it in a .txt and access it with /nabbo for naboo and so on. Just like you access the notepad.txt with /note for example.

The idea of using /note was covered already and found that too many people rely on /note for other uses.
However, maybe it could be worked in as an option on the GUI for those of us who wouldn't mind the loss of /note's normal use?

Nono, I dont mean you should use notes at all. I mean another .txt that could be called LIKE notes.txt. For instance naboo.txt and some alias like /naboo which then display the naboo.txt. I dont know if this is possible from within SWG though.
Does anyone know what that alias /notepad does? Maybe theres a command within SWG like "/displaytext text.txt" and /notepad just does "/displaytext notepad.txt"?
Would be good to know whats in the /notepad alias.
Hmm.. sorry I misunderstood, and maybe still do hehe..
Do you mean to have it pop up in a notepad "like" /notes does, in it's own UI within the game?

I went ahead and got you a screenshot
yah i noticed that too, he explained that it is the way the alias work ( or thats how i understood it) if you look closely you will see that it is the same data in unformatted and formatted type.
I dont know if it is just me, but i run swg windowed when crafting to monitor swgcraft and various boards meanwhile, another window with the resources i need wouldent clutter it up much more.

sorry, but /note and /notepad ARE the command, they are not an alias at all.
doing a /naboo to load a naboo.txt into the gui would not work at all, and yes, the alias spits out the command like you typed it, then it executes it.
for an example, if you have an alias that is "test: /say hi;/pause 10;/stand;/pause 10;/welcome;" then when you execute "/test" you will see the command first, then the actions.
This is a known thing that happens when executing alias', think of them as just dumping text to the command window when you type the command.
np on not seeing how it worked, its a common misconception about how alias's actually work, they are just shortcuts for long commands, and they actually replace what you type with the actual command.
As for the output, already ahead of you on that, and have a sizable screen with search options under development, i am awaiting a few more feedback items before i do the next update, but it shouldn't be long, i want this app to work for everyone who wants to use it.
So far planned features are:
1. Option to either output alias, notes.txt, or both
2. Ability to popup a sizable (remembers size and location) that will have a search bar and update for people who play windowed.
3. Cleanup of some items i seem to have missed (planet hex isn't being used, only resource hex for example).
4. Resource filtering (will require the download of the 600k resource library from SWGCraft.com in order to do filters.
5. More friendly GUI
6. More and More and More options and filtering. (example: only show me 900+ OQ Metal spawning right now, etc...)
Anyone mind letting the rest of the crafters know about this project? Wouldn't mind getting as much feedback as possible.
EDIT: All crafter boards flooded - mission accomplished

When I went to post that I noticed that someone had just released a Crafting Tool project too.
Though I do like this notes.txt update idea too. Anyway, lots for you to choose from.
