I hope this is a mistake. Woolamanders dropping more bones, I can see, they were a timed spawn and too easily monopolized. Gurk kings, you can get a wild lairs, no reason to change. Peko pekos, you can find in the wild, no reason to change. GDK's we were told were going to stay the same, and I liked that, something in the game would actually be RARE. But now I expect I'll see RIS helms going for 1-2m and regularly stocked on vendors. Rather disappointing.

I guess the main reason I'm miffed at this was that I actually waited for TH's response on RIS drops before I went whole hog into getting my full suit. To change the drops now after such a direct answer stating that they were staying the same would just be wrong.

If this is confrimed to be intendedI'm dropping AS and destroying my RIS resources. Yes kids, I'd take my toys and go home

Come on guys, get a life. As it is RIS and Mandalorian armor are nothing more than trophies to show off to your friends. They have no useful in game value due to the difficulty in obtaining the resources, nevermind the resists. While I agree that certian things in the game should be uncommon, the only things that should be rare are the legenday weapons/armor enhancers.

  • Mandalorian is a joke to get due to the difficulty of the DWB.

  • RIS is/was a joke to get due to the 1% chance of getting a GDK scale. All the other components had reasonable drop rates.

  • All "rare" armor is not worth wearing due to the repair bugs/implementation.

  • Uber rare stuff can still be aquired through legendary enhancer/component drops.

All those who say "it won't be rare," are just selfish people who want to have everything for themselves. Grow up and realize that everyone needs a shot at the less the easy to come by items. Heck, the geonosian pistol and DE-10 schematic isn't as much ofa pain in the but as the RIS or mandalorian is.

No, we're people who put in the effort to make these items (and help others make them along the way) and resent the rules being changed to make something that was revered and cherished just slightly less common that other drops.

If I'm so selfish why did I write up a guide to hunting GDK's after I got good enough at it to find random spawns with no tracking skills within 15 minutes of hitting Lok? Why did I answer all the questions I could here and in game about finding the items, and about crafting the armor in general. Look at all of the posts some of us have made helping others out on their own RIS quests - if we were selfish do you think we'd share any of that?

Anyone would be upset if something that they had worked months for and were exceptionally proud of overnight became something that could be obtained in a couple days of hunting.

I agree. it is not selfish when we put so much time into getting our components and now they aremaking it exeedingly easier. Think of it this way. If you worked all your life to become a CEO and finally got there, and then they took some kid off the streets and made him one you would be pissed. It is the same thing. We wasted untold hours on getting our RIS components one at a time... now they are raining down on us. Does that really seem fair to you? I hope not.

Its just like buying a brand new model of a car that just came out. When they first come out the prices are a lot higher, if ya wait a while, they will become a lot cheaper.

For all you that made your full suit of RIS, you had the privelege of showing it off for several months before everyone started hearing about it.

A recent scale sold on Starsider for 7-8million also, I think the devs want people to actually, get this, WEAR IT. 90% of the people getting the loot drops also aren't even armorsmiths, they are out collecting the pieces for a suit for themselves. How is this an Epic quest for us Armorsmiths then?

I would agree with this BUT Thunderheart stated very clearly that the drop rate on RIS components (in particular the GDK scale) WAS NOT going to change. Serialed loot drops in sets of 1 to 11. I'd say an average increase in drop rate of five to six times more than before is a change in drop rate.

If this is a bug, it needs to be fixed. If it is not a bug, well then, I see no need to participate in a profession that is blantantly lied to.

In case anyone missed it, here is TH's quote from the "19 questions" thread roughly two months ago. Nothing has been said about RIS drops rates since:

Thunderheart wrote:

Even though the Giant Dune Kimogilais the hardest and rarest of all the creatures that drop RIS components, its drop rate is by far the lowest. Will the drop rate for the Giant Dune Kimogilascale be raised so as to becommensurate with the other RIS components?

RIS armor is equivalent to “epic quest” armor and as such, the drop rate is one of the only ways to control difficulty.RIS armor is meant to be this difficult to acquire.

Again, I'd have no problem with the drop rate increasing if this statement had never been made or if it had ever been canceled out by a more recent dev comment.

I truly think this isa bug. What I'm worried about is that the dev team won't know how to fix it and will end up trying to pass it off as intended.

Selfish...Hmm.

Not being happy about something that I've worked hard for being cheapened isn't selfish.

You want a good example of selfish? Perhaps all the smiths that have this decide not to make it for others. Bet that would piss ya off.

Personally, I don't really care. If this is how it's been decided, it'll just be another suit of armor to make. The resources I've been collecting for the last 6 months will increase in value tremendously. Not the loot, as much as the other stuff. I guess that explains the requests on the trade forums for the resources.

Now...we just need to decide how much to charge to put a suit together. Probably be some combination of credits and loot. No different than giving a WS the scythe schematic and getting one sword.

guys, ever think that this is a bug? Because these are looted components, that when they got serials, they began to behave like other serial drops? Anyway, I am going to try for some gdk scales now, and if I manage to get a ton, then I might actually have a suit made pre-balance. I will admit, it will suck though seeing people in RIS more common...
