I could just see the Simpsons nerds now.

I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a [the three nerds chuckle] magic bandoleer that provides45% resists to cold damage or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.

Sorry but this is the point, Woookies should stay as they are without armor. And the armor has to make the Wookie a bit weaker than a human, so eat their ham and give them a bit lower resists.

Uh, explain the reason that Wookiees should be weaker than humans, please...

Weaker in armors, stronger without, this is balancing and giving diversity to the game.

The fact is Wookies are wilds creatures living in huge forests. In all my reading of SW books each time the Wookies where described as a proud speice, even they have to go beneath they forests alone weaponless to proove their are able to survive and be recognised as adults.

Iagree they would be able to make very good armors if needed as they have high skills in technology, but I see them reluctant to use an armor. So in themind of a Wookie wearing an armor is being weak. Anyway the devs decided to give Wookies armors. So the best thing to fit SW feeling and devs proposal would be to make an armor but not as high-end as the Wookie could be able to craft as they would reluctant to use them and so reluctant to invest time to develop uber ones.

One more thing, wearing an armor for a Wookie would make them be "Strom trooper like" and we all know the wokies hates them as the empire transformed the Wookies in slaves and the Strom troopers are the image of the Empire...

Like I said before, Continuity should not be used as valid argument point for the opposers to wookie armor.

Continuity is lacking in all aspects of the game. I don't care what you read in books or what you saw in the movies. Just because you didn't read it in a book or see it in a movie, doesn't negate its existance.

If the Devs intended this game to be strictly in compliance with all of the books or movies, then probably ever Rebel in the game would be named Luke or Hans and every Imp would be Darth or Phantom.

All wookiees would be brown and could only wear a bandoleer and use a bowcaster.

Every human female would have buns in there and no one could wear composite.

THIS IS NOT A BOOK YOU READ OR A MOVIE YOU SAW.

This is an every changing Universe. It plainly states on the first page of the Manual:

Like many massively multiplayer online games, Star Wars Galaxies is a deep and ever-changing experience. As the game grows over time, new content, systems, and game mechanics will be added. We have tried to ensure that the Adventure Manual is up to date, but given the evolving nature of online games, there is no way to ensure that it remains completely accurate or includes information about every system in the game.

So, please enough with all this "Star Wars" feel crap.

Also, FYI it does not mention anywhere in the manual that wookiees cannot wear armor.

/sigh;

You are a handful, are you not?

Bandoliers don't hold 50 items so we should just say "This could never work" and give up? It's called K.I.S.S. (re: Keep it Simple Stupid) - Make the bandolier hold 50 items instead.

Next.

Niiiiiice try, but let me quote what you said:

"That's rich. Anotherindividual who does not understand that a backpack and a bandolier both carry items in this game. Have you ever wore a bandolier, or did you just assume you knew what you were speaking of?"

*cough* - doesn't look like you're proposing that it SHOULD hold items, but rather that it already DOES carry items, which it does not.

To all the clowns talking about wookie armor ruining the "starwarsy" feel of the game, so does everyone else wearing armor.

As I recall, basically only the stormtroopers wore armor.

As I recall, the "starwarsy" reality was that such armor didn't do a damn thing to stop a blaster shot or one hit by a wookie punch, so quit whining about what's "starwarsy."

I think a lot of us DO care about what we reads in the books because all that is written in the books is looked at high level by thoses who made Star Wars world and myth.

If the Devs intended this game to be strictly in compliance with all of the books or movies, then probably ever Rebel in the game would be named Luke or Hans and every Imp would be Darth or Phantom.

You are going a bit too far, there are many examples of differents names for rebels and imperialsin the novels AND in the movies.

All wookiees would be brown and could only wear a bandoleer and use a bowcaster.

You forget to tell a satchel too.. The wookies use them to carry their goods and tools with them, did you know it?

Every human female would have buns in there and no one could wear composite.

Sorry but this is the point, most of us are playing this game BECAUSE it is labeled Star Wars and BECAUSE we are looking for a Star Wars Feeling.

If not most of the players would have left and gone for new horizonts cause of SOE miscommunication, the bugs, the nerfings, the constant revamp, the lack of loot, and all things wich are burning our time like shuttle waiting...

Don't think I'm telling this game S#*%, it is a good game, we are all looking foward and it could be better. We are staying BECAUSE we (I do) thinks this game is only in it childhood and need to mature a bit, as do need SOE TEAM either... and some players!

Sorry the manual isn't by bible and I never used it in my posts. I worked for a large entertainment compagny and I know it is impossible to make a manual accurate even more in a MMORPG. That is why even as an Imperial ZabrakI NEVER shouted loudly :REMOVE THE ZABRAK PENALITIES FROM BEEING IMPERIAL.

I'm not going to debate your calculations, but I believe there are aspects you aren't looking at - maybe an AS can clarify, but the difference between 60% composite and 80% composite is not 20%, it's scaled and the effectiveness is compounded. Again, we are looking at the extreme, high end of the scale.

The difference between 60% and 80% is a 33% increase from the 60 or a 25% decrease from the 80. Depends on how you look at it. But I have no idea what relevance that has.

I agree 90% is the extreme high end. I figure 75% is about average. I was slicing armor for an AS today. A good effectiveness slices I was able to get the effectives to 77%. The Special Protections were higher than that.

As to the bonus, no, no one is forgetting that other species have HAM bonuses, but not as severe as wookies, and they aren't in here asking for full suits of armor comparable to composite either as some of your wookie bretheren are, nor are they saying, "We should be stronger, darnit!" at the expense of game balance.

Because they don't have to. Those others races don't need armor comparable to composite because they can WEAR composite.

Many are saying they should be stronger by arguing against Wookiee armor. It has been repeatedly shown how unbalancing that is.

Not all Wookiees are asking for full suits.

The Devs are going to have a hard time balancing the wants of wookies with the balance of the game and without gimping other species in the process.

We never said it would be easy. Only that it was necessary.

I agree with others that wookiesshould get armor, but they should not get armor as strong as Composite which has 3 layer slots. There armor should be limited to 1 layer slot. To me this would keep things balanced between wookies HAM bonus and humanoids strong composite armor.

One thing I wish people would realize is that things have to be balanced. I see a lot of posts with people wanting maxed everything so they can be god like. Only problem it will ruin the game not to mentioned they themselves will get bored with the game themselves if there is no challenge.

Last time I checked, armor had an encumberance on it. And that encumberance reduced your HAM. So why cant our new wookiee only armor have high resistances? I mean, for the love of god, all you have to do to balance it out is make the wookiee armor have higher encumberance to the point that it would equal out. Its not that hard, wow, we can still have our high resistance armor, and with a higher encumberance our "UBER l33t" HAM bonuses (/lol, bonuses, /lol) would be negated out. Did nobody bother to think of it that way?

/hugs all devs, wookiees, and wookiee friends
