I am also a Wookie AS and I think only wookies should have the schematic just like the bowcaster. It just seems right to me.

Interesting how Wookiee's don't hesitate in asking us (Armorsmiths) and the communtiy at large for help in getting them much needed armor by signing petition after petition. Yet, when they finally get their wish, they wanna be selfish and keep it craftable within their race. Actuallly, I take that back, only the Wookie Armormsiths are being selfish.

Stop being selfish Wookie children. 'Nuff said...

I can't really blame wookiee armorsmiths for wanting to have something unique to craft like the weaponsmiths have (Bowcaster). However I don't think that limiting who can craft this armor is good in the long run for anyone. I've suggested this idea a couple of times now but perhaps it will be heard here. What if wookiee armorsmiths got an extra 1 or 2 experimentation points to use specifically on that armor? This would allow any armorsmith to create wookiee armor, however it would also allow the wookiee armorsmiths to have a better probability of creating some exceptional wookiee armor. Just a thought.

oh please for the love of Lord Vader dont make me have to track down a wookiee armorsmith and stand in line behind 300 other wooks to get my armor...

several more reasons why this shouldn't be wookie only craftable.

1. Wookies are specifically described as being skilled with mechanical devices, such as weapons, and are given a bonus to assembly for this, correct? But they are given no such bonus to armor nor are they described as being skilled at it's construction.

2. Several species can't wear certain other armor. For example, only Humans and Zabrak can wear the Tantel Helmet, but any species can craft it. If this were the dev's intention, they would make it so only human and Zabrak armorsmiths could make that helmet.

3. Wookies have the option to use any weapon, just like any other species, and have the additional ability to make thier bowcasters. This ensures that they can always find a weaponsmith to help them, and can additionally help themselves out. But to rely on wookie armorsmiths only to make their only type ofarmor, they will find many who gouge the market making it more unfair for them to getanyarmor.

4. It doesn't make sense in the star wars world. Wookies making bowcasters does, cause that technology is protected and developed by the wookies, but there is no such corresponding armor equivalent in their world.

Finally,I stick by my previous statement that, as a PSG only Master Armorsmith, this new armor will drastically change my business, and not allowing me to change to keep my customer base would be unfair to me and others like me.

any tailor can make wookie only clothing. i don't see why any armorsmith can't make wookie only armor.

Really how much of a interesting spin would it make. Me asa Human A/S if I can make wookiee armour or not is a mute point, I would like to make it for all my guild mates that are Wookiees, but if I don't get the schematic I will just keep on making the same old armour as I did before and it is not like I will be losing any clients. The only problem I will be see if the armour becomes wookiee only is the fact I will be getting this tell more often "/tell Are you a wookie A/S" SoI willget to the pointif yo Wookiees fight to get it wookiee only you will only hurt yourselves in the long run trying to find a Wook A/S to make it for you and when you do how long a wait will there be?? I run armour for a guild on bria sever that has close to 50 people and most of my orders come from them and I can't keep up with the demand I have a 2 day to 3 day wait period. Just think of thenumbers on a wookie scale.

I'm a Wookiee and I'll bet you wont find 10 non-AS wooks ANYWHERE who support this wookiees-only idea.

Even though it may be well-intentioned ( /givesBenefitOfDoubtToFellowWookiees), it actually just slaps us with an artificial limitation in our long-struggling fight to get armor and could end up effectively gating poor Wookiees from armor period.

that's unacceptable.

as I said, the bowcaster thing is kinda cool because it follows "canon" (although I'm learning to hate that word) and because THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER / BETTER OPTIONS FOR WOOKIEE RIFLEMEN IF THEY DONT HAPPEN TO KNOW A WOOKIEE WEAPONSMITH...

that scenario just doesnt apply to armor (unless of course they make several different kinds of wookiee armor <wish, wish>, and one of the lesser-but-perhaps-cooler-looking sets was given some sort of cool wook history and made wookiee-only

I'm not campaigning for that last part, btw, but its the only way I can see a wookiee-only armor schem FAIRLY getting into the game

To be honest, I don't care. Sure, it'd be nice to get some new schematics and new business, but I'm already up to my eyeballs in resources for factory runs of composite and ubese as well as the odd custom order of padded or chitin.

In all honesty I know it should be a Schematic that all can use and create... I have even stated it in other posts... I just was going with the flow...

the Schematic needs to be a short simple quest that does not need Loot Componets like the worthless RIS quest... and the Schematics need to be Unlimited useage... None of this 5 Use schematic Business...

Thats fine for Items that they would like to keep rare... but for something that is going to be some what common.... The 5 use schematic gets old..

Lets see:

Bowcaster = Wookiee only schematic, yes you needWS components to make it and WS skills to make a good one but you can make one with out being a WS

WS = All other schematics minus the Bowcaster

I guess the reason I can't afford to buy +20 in tapes is b/c I don't have the same mind set as most other AS's. My state ment wasn't about greed, it wasn't about anything except keeping the wookiee unique. What the hell I am sure you guys make enough money off composite and other forms of armor. I am a MAS and I run 18 fusions. Lately I have rarely had more then 500k in my bank. And I would say I move a fair amount of armor. Well maybe I don't have my armor priced high enough, but I am making profit on it so that is what matters. But the point being is dammit you guys are turning this into a money issue and its not what I was trying to do. If i wanted to make a large profit with little cost I could focus on being a PSG smith only and sell those all day long for 10k a pop. (as they do sell out pretty damn fast) But crafting only PSG's would get pretty boring. I like filling special requests, someone coming up to me I'm tired of freakin rifleman, You have anything to fix that for me. It's not about the money with me its about the actual armor. I guess you can call me crazy, but since i have all my lots tied up with fusions I only run 4 factories. Heck if i placed 9 more it still probably wouldn't be enough. but any way the point being is 90% of all armor that I sell was hand crafted. So for all you wankers out there saying My statement was about the money I got a nice piece of pointy and rusty composite you can stick up your A$$. Peace

Well in generaly wookiees were very secretive about there technology and their culture so how would armor be any different from their bowcasters.

The statement I made is not one attempting to be greedy. But wouldn't it put an interesting spin on things as far as the economy goes now all of a sudden new armor is out and the whole community doesn't flock to the same old AS's saying me me me. and the some old AS's have the same jacked up prices so why not make an interesting spin on things
