This issue is rampant among items that are not supposed to have vulnerabilities (IE Tantel, RIS (debatable) and PSGS)

I am making my first batch of PSG MKIII( I have friend working on gettimg me the imp prototype one) . I noticed the two artisan compontents allow you to experiment on the. Does this make a different or does the final combine experimantation what matters.
Thx

Makes no difference as of now.
Use the cheapest materials that you can on all of the subs. Use the best possible materials for the final MKIII Assembly and experiment the quality to maximum.
If you have any exp points left over use them to increase the hitpoints on it

Ok I started testing PSGs with and without my armor. I usaully watch the combat screen to see what my damage is and how much I am taking. When I eat food it shows the reduction as with my armor but it does not show the reduction for the PSGs with and with out armor. Is there a bug or are these things not working. Thanks for the feed back.
Also on another note. How do you get high resist stats on them. Most of the items you craft for them you cant exp on them. Well thanks for the info.

Hey guys, I know this question is probably asked a lot, and I hate to sound like a noob, but can someone explain how a PSG works? I know it resists damage and such, but does it only last until the condition is at 0/3000 (for example), and what does recharge rate have to do with anything? Again, hate to trouble you but I checked the sticky's and couldn't find anything on it, maybe I'm blind.
Anyways, any feedback appreciated.

Perhaps a bit more detail?
1) PSGs only protect against ranged energy attacks (not lightsabers, blaster fists, or any kinetic or elemental weapon).
2) The protection on a PSG drops as it takes damage. It will stop resisting damage when it gets to zero.
3) PSGs recharge. As they recharge, the resists go back up. How fast they recharge is determined by the recharge rate (hardly surprising).
4) Each time a PSG recharges, it loses some condition.
The imperial prototype PSG is pretty much the same as a Mk. III PSG except that it grants melee and ranged accuracy bonuses.

Can PSG's be crafted to protect against elemental damage types other than Kinetic and Energy?
