I have brought this up many times myself, for multiple reasons, but so far the Dev's haven't bitten. I have no problems with them being made by Novice Armorsmiths except that they can not have full access to the color pallettes until Technique IV. And why is it that every time someone brings this up, there is always one person who sez "let the image designers make it"? Not there job. Armor is armor, droids are droids, tattoos are tattoos, and they should never meet....ever.

This idea should also be implemented for Tailors. I would love to see this as long as....

1. The customization is permanent! This fading of customization is lame, and serves no purpose. People hate being forced to color things over and over again, but if they are anything like me, they customize so their clothes, vehicle and droids all coordinate.....I had a car painted years ago, and that paint job (cheap as it was) didn't fade the 20th time I drove my car....repeat sales will be fine.

2. The kits can be made at novice armorsmith, but at each level of Technique a new "dye pack component" schematic is made available to take into account the pallette changes up through master....or....kits are made per armor type and give the full pallette for a different armor type at each level (i.e. Novice gets kits for Bone and Mabari, Technique I alllows kits for Chitin, etc). Either of these would work, though I tend to lean towards the latter.

3. Keep the colorization in the profession! Image Designers have no business painting vehicles, dyeing clothes or lacquering armor!

Ya, we could let bone armor be color-changable with the kit. Its still an armor. The only griefing I could see with this is that the kit might have more color-choices than the armorsmith can make armor colors for. The best way to fix this problem: The expirimenting stat for these tools could be the amount of colors choosable, meaning people with good resources can make great kits that have all the color choices!

I vote for armor customization kits, just like the vehicle customization kits we now have.

Let them be made by novice armorsmiths. Once made and sold, they can be used by anybody on their armor. Maybe because of the different color palettes, you will need different kits for diferent types of armor.

All I know is, the way we can color and re-color composite now is great! That's another reason why comp is so popular, both with the smiths and the users.

MattThecomputerguy,

yep, you sure can. Just use the radial menu in your inventory when not wearing the armor and you get a "set color" option.

the reason I think it should be made by novices and not based on the techniques line is that once again you then have an item that people won't buy unless you are a master (which gives all the colors. Tech IV gives most but not all). And once more, novices don't have a credit making product. It's not perfect, but it is a solution.

If the kits are not implemented then they should give all armor the same "Set color" option in the radial menu as composite.

Only a fool would be opposed to such an idea. Please make it happen. It wouldallow people not to look all the same.

Ya know, I never even noticed that Composite Armor could be customizable via the radial menu. Maybe the radial menu "Customize Armor" option would be better than the Armor Customization Kits. What do you think?

The set color option was added after the devs screwed up in patch 5 or 6. They changed the color palette or something and pieces of players comp armor changed color with the patch . The set color option was only supposed to be in for 2 weeks so players could correct the problem but was never removed because of popularity I guess.

I would like lots of different color customisation areas of the armor, Every Armorsmith would have there own unique style then.

/me vote yes

Yeah, all the composite turned to dark grey I believe. Makes it great when I order from my armorsmith though.

Him: OK, 4 sets of composite, what color?

Me: Surprise me. And pink/yellow for my friend that doesn't know about the color change.

bump, bump, and BUMP!!!!!

I LOVE this idea. I came to this forum to find answers to this very problem, and had hoped this is an issue being considered. I can't tell you how long I've been searching for the jut the right color of Padded Armor I want for my costume. I've searched every Armorsmith on Tempest and NOTHING. I'ts hard enough trying to find anarmorsmith that even stocks Padded to begin with.I can't tell you how muchgame time I've wasted searching for the right combination of armor, stats, and color. Being able tobuy a customizaton kit so I can changecolor myself would make itALOT easier to buy armor. Here is my vote on how I'd like to seethis be implimented. I don't want to have to buy a separate kit for each type of armor i have. I just wan't to buy one kit that can customizedall aromor I have and It should have all color choices available to me. When I click on this kit from my inventory,I'd like it to present me with a list of my armor from my inventory to click on.Onlyaromor that is able to be customized will show in the list. Depending on the armor piece that is selected, the color choices will change. The customization kit may or may not have limited uses before a new one will have to be purchased. My character isn't an Armorsmith but I'd like to see a Novice Armorsmith make the kit becouse an Armorsmith with more skill will be too busy making Composite, and PSG's to be bothered with making customization kits and I'd like the kits to be readily available.
