You've done it with vehicles, andit was a great success! Why not with armor too? Here are some points of view about how it would benefit everyone!
From the Armorsmith's Point of View:
The armorsmith wouldn't have to create multiple colors of armor so that the customer gets what they want. This would allow less frusteration and also increase the amount of armor they can sell of one type, reducing the issue of having too many items to view at once when viewing vendorsales! It will increase the sales they make because the customer won't be discouraged from buying the armor because it is either a color they don't prefer or don't like (find ugly). The armorsmith won't have to take special orders (which some already don't due to the high inconvenience and frusteration), thus increasing conveniency and decreasing frusteration on both sides!
From the Customer's Point of View:
The customer can easily buy the pieces of armor they want, with an armor customization kit to re-color it to their liking. They will have less frusteration because they won't have to search around for the color they want. They can/will buy anice 80%+ composite suit even if it the ugliest thing they have ever saw, because they can easily change the color. The customer won't have to buy special orders from armorsmiths, decreasing frusteration and increasing convenience for both sides!
Competition between Novices and Masters:
With armor customization kits, novices can craft and sell them to make money. It is extremely hard for a novice to make money because of the Master Armormsiths' armor being so high quality. People can also mass-produce them with factories and make a lot of money, prehaps even their own business selling armor customization kits!
They key point is that it will increase conveniency and decrease frusteration on both sides of the armor sale, and maybe even give Novice Armorsmiths a money-making opportunity, to help them succeed without having to be a Master Armorsmith!
I recommend that the "Armor Customization Kit"s be craftableat Novice Armorsmith. I know that people can craft bone armor at Engineering III, but this gives Novice Armormsiths that money-making opportunity!

Its been discussed a few times before is all.
It was generally thought to be a good idea as long as there was no armoursmith input required post crafting, as every smith in the known universe would hate the idea of 'come colour my armour' tells on top of the regular 'make me 90% base 2 ham armour' which we tend to get.

I think the kits should be made by Image designers or only usable by image designers. Give the armor to them and they give you a custom paint job-They're so creative
I don't want to have to make another thing to make a trickle of cash.

If the armormsith or image designer had to use the tool it would be just like smugglers scamming people out of armor and weapons which they promise to slice! Also, less conveniency for the customer! Make em usable just like vehicle customization kits... Usable by everyone!

I like the kit idea as they say that they wish to nerf the vendors to a lower number based on what your skill is in merchent. This would make it so i would not have to create mass colors just to make the customer base happy and they win as i dont have to put in so many colors.
Currently with the way it is now i just make black composite so the customers can change it there self to the color they like and i have not been more happyer about that change.
It would also work for other types of armor aswell for example padded. The main reason i dont make padded as i dont wish to stock 255 colors of it just to keep people happy and this would make it so i can make one type and the other person can customize it to there needs.

No thanks. I like the armor coloring like it is, I like the color anytime perminant color. I don't feel like making bit items like coloring kits, its just not worth my time or effort.

Get a factory, sell crates of 50... Orr, leave it to the novices as their opportunity to make $ without competition of Master Armorsmiths! C'mon devs... see the opportunities....

I actually think the Armor Customization kits should be craftable by novice armorsmiths. This would give them a money-making opportunity.

I think this is a great idea, just started novice armorsmith and it is so hard to compete with all the masters already selling better armor, on top of that nobody really wants armor unless its ubese or composite, which i cant craft anyway. I see this idea as a great way for novice armorsmiths to make some money and everyone able to change the colour of their armor every so often. Lets face it everyone feels like a change once in a while.
