Used the segments you get from the Geo Lab to make some real nice Chitin for a friend. He loved it. So light, with decent protection.

When i first became tka novice which wasnt long ago maybe a month ago i went searching for chitin. I thought it was the coolest and i figured it wold have less ham drain because my cheap 60% composite was draining me horribly. I asked over 100 armorsmiths i know if they could make me chitin and they all said no. The either said they dont have a harvestor for those materials or they sisnt have time. I mean wut kinda business is that I would never go back to someone like that! I finally just bought cheap 15% chitin off bazzar. I really just liked it for resists. But now i have my 90% composite and nothing touches me at all. It maybe draining but it doesnt matter because i take like 25 points of dmg from rancors so im good!

If AMERICA outlaws hog hunting the last true test for bulldogs will be gone. They have already outlawed bull baiting and pit fighting. If AMERICA loses its bulldogs AMERICA will lose its courage and will be its downfall!!!!

I love the stuff. What can I say? It's dirt cheap, and I'm not afraid to die in it. LOL. I keep telling folks when they ask about armor: learn how it works, and know what you want it for. No wonder folks are complaining about prices: they buy the hardest to wear armor with the highest maintenance cost, then go hunting nunas.

I'll have to go hunting voritors for segments. Then I'll go get myself some low HAM chiton.

I'm in lust with my new Marauder armor, too. 10 mind per piece! Whatta bargain!

I can't imagine selling an Ubese chest piece for 60K. I sell full suits for that amount of money. Of course Im only buying the hides, but I just can't imagine customers are paying that!!

Every server is different of course, but I can't keep it in stock at 200k a suit. I'm also paying 50cpu for hides. My Ubese is 71%.

i coaxedmy guild's weaponsmith into making me a unique set of chitin

i harvested a bunch of bone (wasn't all that great, so when i get a new set, i'll try and get better bone) and asked him to make it for me

while he was making it he kept wondering why in the world i would want a set of chitin since i could have.... COMPOSITE or ADVANCED UBESE

and i replied with "MUCH lower ham costs"

with helm and all, i have 254/285/301 ham costs, the stats are 58%/17% before slices, some got up to 24%eff after slices

i haven't taken off my chitin since i started wearing it and really wish more people would make it...... i asked an amoursmith who was advertising in theed about the stats on his ubese or chitin he just replied with: "i only make composite"

five-stars for this thread, i totally agree that chitin is the best for every-day use

I like having some of each armor on my vendor and some days have as much trouble keeping Chitin on the vendor as I do Composite. I jsut need to find more hours in the day, I think *smirk*.

I saw something pretty incredible the other day and wish I had gotten a screenshot. The person said it was his "samuri" look armor: Mabari pants, Chitin Biceps, and a sunshade are the only parts I can remember. It looked really really good and very samuri-ish.

"Your a Master AS? And ur wearing Chitin lol..."

So i showed him my helmet i made with voritor segs, 67% Kin 18% Energy & 15% Base with nearly 1/3 of Comp Ham costs.

"wow, thats sweet" was the reply

It made me so happy well why i wait for a polysteel copper to spawn, im easily pleased

The demand for chitin is small because no one makes it. If more armorsmiths would make more chitin more people would want it.

-Maccus I'll have a full set for you ASAP (this morning 6AM EST) in game e-mail will explain details.

This couldn't be more true. I'm here browsing the armorsmith forum because I've been completely unsuccessful in finding anyone on Sunrunner who makes quality chitin (other than one fellow who hasn't responded to any of my email inquiries in over a week). That being the case, I decided to see what materials were required for the suit I wanted so I could go out and collect them myself; if the mountain won't come to me, I'll go to the bloody mountain.

I don't know if I'm typical of combat players (probably not, since I originally bought the game to be a dancer), but style matters to me every bit as much as protection. The only styles I've seen, however, are composite (utterly unflattering on female characters), ubese (see above, and add the ugliest helmet in the game), and 9% kinetic stuff on the bazaar. I guess what I'm getting at here is that I would gladly pay the same or more for chitin than I would for ubese. But nobody, and I mean nobody seems to make it. So I wear ubese. And I wear composite. And I keep visiting vendors hoping I'llone day bepleasantly surprised to see what I've been searching for.

Anyway, I found the information I was looking for in this thread, so thanks very much. I wish all of you who are marching to a different drummer an enormous amount of success (and if you're on Sunrunner, my funds will contribute to your success).
