What would be nice is if you could view the items in a bad on a vendor. The time is better spend there than on a vendor limit.
I agree Meparch.
If a full suit of armor counts as 1 item in a bag for sale, loose pieces of armor being sold is offically dead. If someone needs a new Composite Bracer, Bracer, etc.................gotta buy a full suit.
By far, this is the STUPIDEST idea SOE has come up with to date. I'd rather have everyone back to days when a Novice CH could use Rancors than this change.
I can sell out of 10 suits of Ubese in a day. I can sell out of 10 composite in a day. I can sell out of 10 Padded in 2-3 days. I am stocking right now to be able to be gone 4 days midweek. I hope I am not stocking too soon and that I won't have to do a major restock again before Wed. I have close to 150 -suits- (in bags) of armor on the vendor and about 30 suits worth of pieces on the vendor right now. That -might- hold until next weekend. I'm not betting on it.

2 Vendors - 60 items each (120 items total).
___________________________
Composite Armor - 9 pieces
Wookie Hunting Armor - 4 pieces
Ubese Armor - 7 pieces
6 Suits of Comp - 54 pieces
5 suits of Wook - 20 pieces
6 suits of Ubese - 42 pieces
Total = 116 pieces

This will not allow me to sell many (if any) PSGs, Padded Armor, Nightsister Enhanced Armor, Janta Enhanced Armor, Sliced Armor, Loot I have got from killing NPCs.
With the above setup I would need to visit my vendor everyday (twice on the weekend).
ALSO, this would be yet another thing I need to manage along with serial numbers of multiple components, multiple resources, storage limits of houses.
The Vendor changes proposed are laughable and a stupid bloody idea.

Oh you didn't know this was a work in progress? Oh wait. It's been so long that they said this they hope ppl will forget. They tried to stop us from selling armor in bags. We revolted. They backed down and said they will work on a way to allow ppl to see whats in a bag on a vendor. Still waiting on that fix. It's been what? 8 months or so? Oh yeah but alot or profs have been broken since beta. Let's not fix those profs. Let's nerf the ones that are out there.
Btw. I am in no way condemning what they are doing to empty vendors. OR even if they take away vendors with ppl that dropped the skill. I hate the idea of the vendor limits. Dumbest idea ever.

(100 each in my case) Why would you need more than that? I try to have one set of each type of armor on my vendors at all times. I know others dont' do that, and most specialize in one or two types of armor, but seriously... why would you ever need more than 660 items on any vendor anywhere? Do you really expect to sell all that in 30 days?
Stop being ignorant. You might be a new crafter so you don't have the business to stock more items on a vendor. You have to look at the community as a whole. You ever go shopping for a gun? Well if the WS's are limited to what thye can stock they will only stock the top of the line stuff and their vendors will be camped with ppl waiting to pick up some weapons. Ever go shopping for Brandy? Camp their vendors as well. Also their won't be as much of a variety on chef's vendors anymore because they will only sell their top seller which is Brandy. The list goes on and on. Vendor limits are bad. Removing empty vendors is good. Get your heads out of your ass SOE and start playing this game to see the problems we have.

- I am not a new crafter, I've been doing this for over 6 months (on this server) and have good business with many loyal customers.
- Actually, I haven't gone shopping for a gun. I'm a brawler.
However when I do look for a new weapon I've never seen this "vendor camping" you speak of. - I've never gone shopping for brandy either. In the rare chance that I'm actually fighting I'll just borrow a sip from a friend, if I even need it.
I see good points in some of the previous posts and I do understand where they are coming from.I think the point of the Vendor limit is to enforce the concept that not just anyone can sell a ton of stuff, but you have to be a pretty good merchant to be effective. It's IMO a great idea, though this is possibly (or probably even) the wrong way to implement it. Say if these limits were doubled (100 for Business 3, 1320 for Master Merchant) I think that would be better.
It's funny... no one complains about a limit of 20 on the bazaar, anywhere. Is it possible because it's just always been that way? *ponders*

Reason why no Armorsmiths complain about the 25, not 20 item limit on the bazaars is that no Master sells on the bazaar!
This vendor Camping which you never seen, is because the vendor limits haven't happened yet. Would you pay 250k for a pair of Vibro Knucklers? Be prepared for that if you aren't friends with a weaponsmith.
I acquire all my items from fellow PA members, so I don't have to go shopping, soI could care less about finding empty vendors if I go shopping. But, I'm not worried about myself, I'm worried about all the other players not being able to purchase things.
Just because you have no marketing skills and/or make garbage armor and this is the only way you could compete doesn't mean this change should happen.

I stand corrected - 25 is the limit on the bazaar. Not much of a difference though, and I never said armorsmith... I said anyone. No one complains about the bazaar limit most likely because it has always been that way. If personal vendors had been the way they are proposing for the next publish then I don't think anyone would be upset, simply because everyone was used to it. So the question that presents itself is as follows:Is everyone upset because there will be a low limit on how many items can be on a vendor, or is everyone upset because the things they are used to are changing? Now before you go and flame me or one-star my post again, think about it. Had there been a limit right out of the box would you have complained and threatened not to pay for the game at all? Or would you have just played along because "that's how things are"?By the way, that last paragraph was completely uncalled for. You know nothing about my marketting techniques or the quality of my armor. I never said that I need this to change so that I can make money. That is a complete fabrication.
OK, it works fine for YOUR business model. However, I am not only an armorsmith, but a tailor, and I manage vendors for my wife's medical supplies. Not only that, I try and sell alot of the repair tools, armor upgrade kits, and such items.
I have over 2000 items listed on my vendors combined. And since I don't have the points to spare for master merchant, I would be cut down to a limit of 600 items. This does NOT work for me.
On one hand, they try and make the merchant a viable profession by making the skills mean something. Then on the other hand, they set limits that are ABSURDLY low for anyone trying to be a 'true merchant'. They won't have much of database problem anymore if this goes live, alot of the crafters will simply quit in fustration, then noone will be able to get equipment. then the fighters will quit after the only thing they can find to fight with are looted CDEF's on the bazar. No players, no database problem, simple!
