Thread: Do you find that people even look at encumbrance anymore?

HAM's are largely unimportant (except when having pissing contests with other AS's), so I always try to get mine as low as possible.
5 stars for you ![]()
Anyhow i work hard to make some light weight 80kin/65base armor that tends to sell well.
I always experiment to get the Enc as low as possible
PvP is of course in duels a problem but large engagments less I think
PvE is very mutch a problem when Taking high lvl MOBS Higher base is more importent to my buyers and they buy my 80% kinetic 71% base suits with 801/730/811 Enc
but if people are grinding whel I advise them mostly Ubese or my Low Enc Composite suits
LOW Enc Composite suit 80% kinetic 64% base 536/463/550 Enc
and Ubese 75% Kinetic 16% Base 288/342/406 Enc
and my Low suits sells just as fast as the Heavy Tank 71% base suits and price is just the same

(btw fdiskman, I sent you a PM since I'm on Corbantis too).
When talking about low HAM armor, I didnt see anyone comment that in making it lite aren't you also increasing the max condition too, making it a more durable and longer lasting purchase.
Just a thought.
Also, I must say that I am happy I finally stumbled across this forum .... seems much more civilized and constructive compared to what i have seen ... so far that is.
Thanks

Hello. My view as a combat/non-crafter character
I'm Master Swordsman/Master Pike (Zabrak).
I don't PvP very much anymore, to many DOT weapons, to much anger from both sides, etc.
For PvE I always get Encumbrance armor. I have a full suit of Ubese that I can wear, even the Helmet, unBuffed & w/ my Health & Action substats at the minimum, for general running around. I have a Padded suit that I use for faction missions, just to get a little better resists for Energy weapons. I need Buffs to get it all on, but even low Buffs (1800ish) makes the HAM costs negligable. For high level PvE (NS, SMC, etc) I use Composite suit w/ Kinetic & Blast in special (Elec might be in there also, don't care to much about that) & the other resists about 60ish. Kinetic & Blast are the only 2 melee that have Medium AP, I think. All my armor is also Encumbrance sliced & I'll give away or delete any that gets Effectiveness slices. My melee defenses at Master provide as much protection as the armor itself so I rely on the low HAM to make sure I can last in a fight that takes longer than I planned.
PvP'ers probably have different needs, but give me Encumbrance armor every time.

fully agree on this. Just last night i was loot drop hunting. I got torn up fast by the city punks. I am a pistoleer. I honestly wished my armor resisted more than 10% on most npc attacks. not just kinetic. I don't hunt critters all the time. I have never found anyone seeling anything other than Ubese or Composite. I either have no resists that i need, or i have to buff or get many many slices to have any protection that will let me live a bit longer.
PvP is dead to many classes right now because they can't compete but where are the armorsmiths that do not fully supply to that style? We have gotten to much in a mindset that one size fits all.
I now vow to make one of my alts into an armorsmith. Time someone brings in an alternate form of armor for the non PvP players.

Very good point, although there is a caveat for Composite Armor -- experimenting on Durability during final piece construction only affects HAM. Experimenting on Resistance (bottom line, normally special protection) actually increases the condition. Sounds like a bug to me, but that's the way it goes.
I always make sure I can pour at least3 points (hopefully amazing success) into durability / encumberance on layers and segments.
