Thread: Seriously utterly f. fed up with crafter deaths
I took my CL 1 Master Armorsmith to LOK unescorted for over 2 hours of surveying this past week.
If you are careful and avoid contact you can live, survey, service harvestors, yadda, yadda, yada.
When I remember I just group with a CL80 and take my alt on his merry way.
Its just not that bad, if you use alittle caution.
When I need a lair removed I call for help on guild chat.

I was avoiding contact and the area I was in was clear of critters as far as the eye and radar could see. I was there a good 10 mins placing harvesters and they just spawned literally on top of me. Kind of hard to avoid
Suffered a new low, incapped by a spineflap, I can live with a ran or ns, but a spineflap lol. Woot i'm a CL5 AS and I laff when I die.....I seem to be laffing a lot this week.
Can't we have a crafters innate armor, I dont want combat skills just something to enable me to get away without being spanked sensless in one hit
My level 80 combat char should be able to craft! ![]()
Ok, seriously though...
I was lvl 1 for a while. I only died a few times. Frustrating, yeah. Game breaking, no. As others have said, camo kits, friends, and caution will all help you quite a bit.
Personally, I went up to 4000 Smuggler to be able to buy and sell faction on this girl. Puts me at level 21. Sure, I still get aggro'd, but I have plenty of time to get away. No more one shot kills. I can drop and access harvesters from my vehicle, factories are in town, shop is in town. I have not been incapped once since I picked up a little combat, although I still have to run from everything.
Out in the wild is a dangerous place. Without combat, you're supposed to die. That's how it was in the beginning, before 90% comp and buffs. You'll adjust, but you have to realize that you need to adjust what you're doing first, and not just blame everything on the system.
You bring up a great point. My level 80combat player CAN CRAFT!!!! I can make bowcasters as long as I supply him with the components. I never said my level 80 crafter ought to be able to compete with a level 80 combatant in a combat situation, just like my bowcasterscan't compete with a WookieeMaster WS's bowcasters. What's wrong with experienced crafters having enough hitpoints to be able to run away from incoming spineflaps?

simple solution i feel.
crafters shoukd get full hitpoints and combat level so we get dmg reduction and can do stuff like DWB again like we r meant to]
but dont give us mods.
we will have 0 defense 0 attack but we will have a chance
