Camo kits don't work as well as you think. They hardly work at all.



I, as a Master Ranger, had a CL 10 Giant Gubbur break my camoflauge and attack me in the same move. I was also wearing +14 Camoflauge BE'd clothing.

1) you cant dictaterandom spawns on you


2) avoiding agro takes time/patience and is extremely dull


3) mask scent isnt the be and end all, it still fails and leads 2 death


4) even in CL80 anything under level 80 will agro you still if you level 1, just the damage is reduced


5) there is an issue, caile agrees there is an issue. basically crafters got shafted from lots of content/areas because they cant survive anymore


6) even a split combat/crafting mastery is not enough .. you used to enjoy bits of both worlds now you are eitehr combat level 60 or combat level 1 - a crafter/fighter can never hit CL80

Try to keep everything in a player city or atleast within 50m of it. Thats where all my stuff is and I never have lairs/wild spawns near my factories.

I dual client with my combat alt to place stuff, and my factories are like 25m outside the city so im safe!

Sure its difficult, but ive had no greater rush than sampling on some God awful dangerous planet


To date, two deaths, one from not watching the radar and the other from triple incap. Thats sampling and servicing harvesters on Yavin, Dathomir and Endor. Even long trips to the village as a crafter, during phase 4


I leave my radar on 64m, anything that turns into a dot is too close, overhead map on since things spawn quite a way in advance on there. It is possible to sample while still in a speeder too, for a fast getaway.


I agree there is something about factories that seems to attract the wildlife. I have my pest control guildmates on call if need be. More pesky when on several occasions spawns literally appear after several minutes standing there with all the hopper windows obscuring the screen.

The worst part of the Crafting Deaths for me is the fact that they put one of our necessary resources on DATHOMIR.... Ok, I can get around on Lok, Yavin etc.... even the starting planets you can take one hit sometimes 2 and if you are very careful you can work around it.....


but DATHOMIR isnt happening.... 1 Hit dead, even if im on my bike half the time its 1 Hit, off the bike, dead. It is COMPLETE BS !!!!! ... I even took one of my crafting charc and did a master combat prof on her so she could survey Dath for me.... well guess what you SoE Geniuses... she cant do it either.... She gets one hit constantly too.


Why for the love of god did they put one of our required chems (not even a hide, but a chem) ON DATHOMIR ???? Was it just a nice big fat middle finger to the crafters or what?

Agreed, but we ALL have to deal with this. I had my combat lvl 80 char killed yesterday while driving across Dath because some Black Sun NPC's spawned beneath me. Should I start whining about this, or should I just deal with it and move on?

We'll just remove every aggro character from the game, that way your non-combat character can do whatever you please without taking into account that the areas you want to go to are full of vicious wild creatures that want to rip you to shreds. Yeah, sounds like a plan.

Low level mask scent sucks, I do agree with that.

You still get aggro'd, but you don't get one shot killed, giving you time to get away. That's the whole point, right? Not getting killed so easily? If you're complaining about merely getting aggro'd by vicious wild creatures...out in the wild...then I feel no compassion for you on this issue.

If Caile agrees, then let him bring it up to the devs. I think it's silly, but that's just me. I have a crafter, I surveyed/mined fiberplast on Dath as a level 1 character. I died a few times, on a char with zero combat, out in the wild of the most dangerous planet in the galaxy. If Caile wants to waste time on small issues like this, so be it. If you ask me, there are far more pressing issues that could be address, that there is no workaround for.

My crafter is below lvl 30. I have had ZERO problems since bumping her up to that level. I have not died once. Yes, I still get aggro's by a lot of things. But again, these are vicous, wild creatures.






I hate to be such a grouch, but seriously...this is a pretty lame issue to be complaining about when you look at the bigger picture. If you can't figure out a few workarounds for it, and just want to complain about things that you refuse to try and use the many simple solutions listed in this thread...then I really have to wonder how well you actually runan Armorsmith business, even if it is only in an online game.

I have to agree. If you can't take the time to avoid aggro, then what are you doing on that planet in the first place. It's dangerous. It's SUPPOSED to be dangerous.


I've run through a whole 128 meter radar FILLED to the brink with red mobs many times on dath and not been killed, and I'm lvl 25. It's not that hard to be worth complaining about.

Ermm.. you dont have to be a millionaire. I've run around dath ALOT. As only a level 1. I've died.. maybe 6 times in all that. Lost 2 bikes. Nothing too serious. And this is biking through massive unavoidalbe fields of big red dots surrounded by those oh so friendly purple circles. And as for increased HP. It doesnt actually help that much unless there's a level to go with it. I just finished the vehicle control quest that gives you the HP crystal. And as that day was being VERY bad for me (Quite a few deaths durring the missions etc. mostly NPCs with guns.. or oddly enough melee critters hitting me from 20-30m out. Likely lag) I decided to pop it. Weee.. I'm sitting at 2900 HP. Pop a pixie for an even 3000hp. And promptly get one shotted for 3030 damage.


I've just ended up making myself a pair of 'suicide run' pants. Take that, a bike. toss all my deacyable stuff in a droid. Put on a PSG for the very very limited but better than 0 protection it offers. And generally speaking I wind up allright. I still get killed now and then with only 900hp but eh. It _WOULD_ be nice to have abit more surviability. Not just for crafters but also for those who are pure entertainers. As they face the exact same issues. Not as badly for the most part as a crafter. As they dont have to be out in the field -quite- so much. But still.

i just use camo kits made by a master ranger if i get alot of nasties around my harvesters on any planet. usually tho if you keep moveing while serveying you dont get thumped to much.
