Thread: What will you charge for Wookiee Armor?

I won't charge anything for it... I won't make it ever. There is only 2 wookies and they don't need armor. Anyone that wanted armor deleted their wookie long time ago. Plus they've further made us dependent on Tailors, this time Master Tailors. Nope not worth the waste of time.

ummm...I sell composite for around 80cpu and never have stock...Ubese is near the same, probably about 75cpu. Padded, which uses much more organics however, won't really sell for much more than 50cpu.

PSG's on the other hand, I have sold Mk-3 PSG'sforabout 25cpu and they never sell out. nor the Imperials at somewhere near 50cpu.

So what does this tell me?

The quantity of resources is far less important than you would think.

No, the truth is, that supply and demand are predictated on two things in this game. 1. The desirability of the product, and 2.the quality of the product.

With people guessing on resists in the 50% for kinetic adn 20% others or so range, I would put this suit at about somewhere between the level of Ubese and Tantel. Also, with the initial push, I would say that demand will be higher, causing initial prices to be in theComposite category, with a slow cooldown to somewhere around 50 and 75cpu, depending on the need of wookies and the amount of armorsmiths making this stuff. I would probably then charge about 15k for the arms, and about 20k for the legs and chest/head. I guess?

I'm thinking around 100k on Bloodfin, mostly because good hide goes for outrageous prices, especially leather and wooly.

heres another thought i'm going to throw in here, i've read some post that people were unsure if one piece of armor covers two areas, for instance its been said that the chest plate may also covers the head area, as the HAM of the chest piece would also suggest this, dont forget this one piece of armor is doing the protection of two normals pieces, and prices should reflect this...

if someone was buying a ubese chest piece from you for say 20k you wouldnt throw in a free helmet would you...

also the bracers might cover the hands and the arms, however again i do not know if it actually does or if its just a 'cool look' they wanted to add in to the armor suit, clarification is always welcomed...

Don't forget, if these pieces cover multiple body parts, they will also decay that much faster.

Yeah, for one I'd rather have a seperate head piece as I was hoping to lose the helmet unless in combat as it looks a bit strange. But on top of that having a 22k condition (more or less?) piece that covers chest, left bicep, right bicep and head is like having 4 x5.5k condition individual pieces (from a user perspective).

I saw people who sell it for 10-20k at the test center, and I'm tryin to buy 2 sets for 100k after tomorrow from the flurry forums (I'm no armorsmith btw, just a nobody who roams around forums ).

On bria top quality hide is bought at 50cpu, which means just to produce 1 suit costs the armorsmith21,650 for just the organic components.

If I was making wookiee armor (I'm in the process of making psg's atm, I have components everywhere, and my wood and yavinian leathery suck) I would probably charge 100kish per suit. maby.

To be honest after the initial demand is fullfilled I can't see this armor being a big seller.

Agree!!!..

Considering we have concpet art out for what looks like an Ubese and then one later this week for a third armor in the news letter..

Hides are going to be a killer... And I hope the next suit of armor does not take up a ton of hides, but it looks like it will also along with Bone..

I am just hopping that the third and final Armor will be a minning resouce based Item...

It's kinda sad. Chitin and padded are crap armor that nobody makes and doesn't sell because of the insane harvested resource requirments, and it looks like they're going the same route for wookiee armor.

It's like they don't understand how their own game works.

300k!!!

Power to you if you can get that much. Remind me never to make a character on starsider ^_^

Rule of thumb is 10k per 10% of resist(rounded up) So say 55% kinetic with 23% base will be 80-100k for a 9 piece suit(this is dependant on how the individual galaxy economies are, some are out of whack). But wookie armor is 4 pieces so resource cost goes down a bit. I will prolly charge 75-80K on Corbantis, depending on how much I have to pay for yavinian leathery hide.

From what it looks like it is the same resists as Adv chitin, and I cant give that away at 35k. The resource cost for chitin is so high I cant sell for less. But since wookies have no other choice ATM it will be supply and demand. Prices will be drivin up.

I am also hearing tailors may sell the padding at inflated prices too so that can effect the price as well. They dont need the padding for any of their clothing (Unlike synth cloth and reinforced fiber panels which both AS and tailor use) so you cant blame them for trying to get a piece of the wookie armor pie.

In Tempest I sold mine in coronet for 35k and they flew out of my hands. 30% kinetic, 20% base.

Though in my shop it's only 25k for those who wish to venture out there.
