Fun fun fun, I log in just now to find the chestplate has vanished from my inventory, the materials used to make it are gone as well (including the segments used) I logged out 20 minutes before the server went down this morning, I can't fathom WHY they never manage to save information that matters in the last half hour.. Somehow it saved the items being used but the final item is vanished.

I am looking into filing a BBB complaint against SOE for the utter lack of support and failure to provide any service. I've had a single ticket for other issues going for well over a week now with zero responses other than, we are working on this blah blah blah...

I'm so close to quitting smithing and quitting my CH too because of **** like this.

50% kinetic shield and 50% kinetic composite vs 1000 dmg hit (if AP 0)would yield...

1000 hits the shields AR 1 and is dropped to 500 the 500 is then hit by the 50% kinetic resist dropping it to 250 geting through with the shield absorbing 750, Then the 250 hits the armors AR 1 and is dropped to 125, which is then reduced by the 50% resistance for a 62.5 damage hit.

1000 becomes 62.5 in that situation

If the attack is AP 1 then you have the shield dropping it to 500 and absorbing 500 and the armor doing 250 absorb of hte 500.. leaving 250

If the attack is AP 2, the hit blasts past the AR 1 of your shield and hits for 1250 which would be reduced by the 50% resist ( I prety much confirmed this works that way today, i was curious ) doing 625 dmg, then it hits your armor and at this point I BELIEVE it does the +25% again on teh damage that hits the armor due to the AR AP differences, so that 625 becomes 781.25 and is then reduced 50% to be 390.625..

its more like 1000 damage hits 50% shield == 500 damage vs 50% armor == 250 damage hits player.

i am a valcyn armorsmith who has Tech 4 PA 3 Deflectors 2... i will hit master in a week probably shoot me a tell and we'll make arangements to test out your segments... names esapa

So far I've found Bone and Chitin Segments, they are all horrible. They are no where near as good as these dragon segments, and the corresponding Segment Enhancers from the same mobs seem to be bugged because they just add more HAM penalites without granting any bonuses.

I know someone who got composite made with krayt segments, and its awsome stuff. She wanted all the experimenting to go to lowering encumberance but it was still at around 30% protection. She got an unsliced composite helmet had like 30% protection and 220 mind which is like 70 mind lower.

This is the first time I heard of this. Could someone tell me then if you get these items from "looting"? I always thought creatures had nothing lootable, but I guess I'm wrong.

Also, what creatures drop parts for other armors?

I looted a Sharnaff Skull Plate off a corellian Sharnaff bull (if my memory serves me). And it looked at the stats. It has 7% effectiveness, and no health encumberance, but double reg mind and action. It says at the bottom "This looks like it could fit perfectly as a Chitin Armor Segment". I tried it. No, didn't work. :-(

Where did you find krayts?

For information i already do Composite with 41% protect without this segments. (Except electricity is in special line)

Well, it is a big deal. You are obviously using excellent components. I would be curious to know what your NORMAL composite %s are, that way we can compare and see how much of a difference you are getting compared to your krayt composite.

As far as you getting a 41% composite, you are obviously using excellent components. His are substandard (average at best). Image how good the krayt comp mightbe with excellent comonents? Not very fair to say his armor isn't a big deal. Its awesome. If you don't think so, you are very much back handing your own work. You armor is 90% of what his is. I can't image how good yours could be with these components... Possibly in the 50s?? Would love to know what he normally gets on his armor!

Still making composite armor on Starsider. (Although its really expensive) EVEN THOUGH WE HAVEN'T HAD BERYLLIUS COPPER IN >>>2<<< Resource shifts!! Good thing I had 4 harvesters on the stuff during the first shift! But, its getting really old!
