Do you think writing to LA, and all the game magazines would help?

It would only work if we all did it. I have thought of doing this.. but the devs always hide behind the "only the whiners write you, everyone who likes the game is playing it" line. It would have to be such a phenomal outpouring of letters from the entire community for them to take serious notice. Can't hurt to try though, anyone wanna start a website?

Does anyone else find it odd that someone with "Community Relations" in their title can become too so busy working that they cannot respond to the community. When I see good people that bust their butts at their totally unrelated job and are still taking time to post for the betterment of the community in every forum I visit and then see someone, whos actual job it is to post in those forums, complain that they get too busy and cannot respond it really tweaks my mellon.

If your grumpy then dont post because it will get you suspended and/or banned, your trolling and stating that Tiggs does not respond to the community regularly is a lie and just pointless ranting if post like that continue I will start handing out suspensions. Just because Your personal most important question or concern is not answered individually does not mean that there is a lack of communication. If the devs (or anyone for that matter) were to sit here and reply to every question that each individual feels they deserve an immediate answer to there would never be any game dev going on, there would be no maintenance, there would be no patches, and there would be nothing done.

Community relations Director is not just about posting and there is a ton of work and Tiggs (as you can see by her posting times) pretty much works 24/7 and that is by no means an exaggeration.

With all due respect Garva, I think it's just frustration that this entire boondolgle know as the CU is being pushed through and our opinions are being considered to stop or MAJORLY change it.

No major concerns of any professions have been met, as of yet, and communication as to why this is so import to go through "As-is" or close to as-is, has been answered.

Couple that with lying in chats about community response in Dev chats and John Smedley letters, how did SOE expect anything else?

Also, I do believe Tiggs is working close to 24/7 but if it's on something 74% of us hate, most people aren't going to appreciate that effort.

You'll notice we did give her her "props" for the time she spent communicating with us previoulsy under Tyrants leadership-no one can or should deny that.

lol i can't believe you actually sat there and read through this thread. Any way I think people are miss-directing or venting their anger at Tiggs what i think would have been better is that a dedicated thread which only devs responsible for each profession could post on in the profession forums . So someone like Blix or Even Tiggs could pop on look at the top 5 issues for Armorsmith profession or any profession and just take 5 mins and say "yup i've seen what you have to say and its noted". I think thats where the root problem is pushing aside the issues regarding okaram2k being removed as the correspondent for Armorsmith.

I think we need to know more than "it's been noted". I trust the devs at face value, that they know what we're saying.

What we need to know is why something was changed and when it will be changed back (assuming it is changing a majority of people's gameplay and has community support for being changed back)

No one is upset at them for bug fixes or anything like that. We're upset at them for changing things that aren't broken.

I have no particular view on Okram's departure as AS. Spamming dev's email addresses was obviously not a great thing to do and it deserved punishment. Whether removing him as AS was the wisest thing to do at this time (when a CU is going through andrevamping armor is a key part of the changes), I doubt, but then I do not know all the facts so I will not comment.

What I would like to ask though is whether the SOE team have considered what might have motivated Okram to carry out such an act and what they can learn from it?

I am sure Okram probably knew that it wasn't going to go down well so why did he feel his only course of action was to spam your email?

The fact is that many professions are deeply, deeply concerned about the CU and there is very little information coming back from SOE. As a result, people are panicky and worried. Some of their nervousness may be justified but much of it may well not be justified and could easily be allayed by some authoritative statements and communication from those in the know.

I speak as a Ranger who has been participating in the CU sporadically and is, like my Ranger colleagues, very worried about what is happening to Ranger in the CU. We still are worried, although the change to give us CL that was announced on the DevChat the other night was very welcome news. However, there are plenty of other things still bothering us and no-one appears to be providing our correspondent, Owen, with answers to the questions that he has put forward on our behalf.

The Armorsmiths are a profession who seem to be very worried (dare I say downright angry?) about the CU and I can only assume that it was those worries combined with a lack of communication that drove Okram to the actions that he took.

Surely, there are some lessons in there for you, SOE, about communication, about handling testing and the opening up of testing to players and not least about the CU itself and what the player base think of it to give you pause for thought?

apparently everyone has different definitions of "regularly". i mean, i think that's how this all got started in the first place.

grumpiness or no, armor and armorsmithery is exceedingly important to the CURB. I think it's important to allow dissenting opinions, and especially with the CURB being released in a few weeks, it's also very important to provide clear and rapid communication on these issues.

it was a really bad decision to boot the armorsmith correspondent this close to may 5th. i can't imagine TH or tiggs being able to do the work of an armorsmith correspondent in addition to their normal duties, exspecially this close to the release of the expansion and the CURB, and, i can't imagine the new armorsmith correspondent becomming framiliar with all of the ins and outs of his position in that short amount of time either.

Now there is some great communication to the player base...2 forums 99.9% of us have no access to.....

Thats why they created a correspondent, to take the information from the players, weed out the non constructive 'stuff' and submit it to the Community Relations/Devs. And then take responses and put together what they see shaping up in the Correspondent/CU forum and get it back out to the players. One Dev/Community Relations post on the CU/Correspondent forum can have information for all the professions, its up to the correspondents to get that info back to the players.

Except that correspondents often can't tell us what they know due to NDA.

Im probably stirring up old dirt, but I only got this far before I needed to reply. I could be wrong, but I dont think Tiggs does coding for the CU. I was under the impression that as the community relations person, it was her job to communicate with the playerbase. So I dont think it would detract from those doing the actual development work and code writing for her to come onto the boards and tell us whats going on.

Now if Tiggs has other obligations than being the PR person and is actually hammering out bugs, then thats different.

Woah there, please do not take my post out of context, or put words in my mouth and start a flame war. I never said Tiggs does not respond regularly, I mearly stated that it is not cool to be too busy or to complain to be too busy to respond with all that is happening right now. My intent was to suggest now is not the time to say that to the player base. We want to believe you are only here for us and only care about us. You should be too busy loving on us to get your other work (probably TPS reports for SOE, hehe) done .That is what we want from CR Director. We want constant feedback.Change = fear and without constant information to keep the fears at bay = panic. We crave information!!! The blog has stopped, correspondants have trouble getting responses and have tosuicideand become martyrs to be heard, where does that leave the lowly players?

BTW I was refering to this quote,"Unfortunately there are times when TH and I get very busy and we need to concentrate on the other duties we have. During these timesthe correspondents may nothear anything from us." <- with so little time left and the widespread tumult already happening, this = fear and panic.

The devs working on combat upgrade can either hit the forums and respond all day to your questions or work on CU. I am sure we are all in agreement with having them bang away at issues and bugs with CU rather then post all day.

I don't think it would take all day to type up a paragraph that would give a run down on some of the more major issues.

Correspondents have rules just as you do on our forums and these need to be upheld. When a correspondent goes against the rules they will be removed just as any of you would be. A correspondent's position is to bring to the Dev team the issues their profession is currently having or foresee. It isnot to rally up the troops and spam in private message tells tothe devs, just to be heard. The correspondents have direct access to our email addresses and to the correspondent forum. Unfortunately there are times when TH and I get very busy and we need to concentrate on the other duties we have. During these timesthe correspondents may nothear anything from us. We do however let them know we are still reading their posts or emails even if we aren't replying and their concerns are being brought to the table.

All of this is outlined in the correspondent forum, the application for being a correspondent and the welcome letter they receive.

Please keep it constructive, any posts that are not constructive will be removed.

You are trying to silence us. We complain, *boom* locked thread. We try to be constructive *boom* locked thread. You go on about rules for correspondents and for those that post on the forum, but what about the little rule of "Value for money" or "looking after the consumer" ? Somehow I think they slipped through the cracks here. We armoursmiths didnt ask for much, just a re-think of the current state of the profession and more importantly the proposed changes from the all singing all dancing bork fest you call a Combat Upgrade. Sorry to do this GarVa but this is moreso proving the point, this is a public forum and has turned into a discussion about the CU, face the facts - the majority of the players hate it.

People have had their opinions on Tiggs AS the CU and mostly communications between us (the players of the game) and you (the people whos job it is to make us play the game) and sadly you're gonna have to dealwith that and accept that there are deep seeded problems and this CU if pushed through blindly will wreck the game.

Deleting posts that identify that a lack of communication (i've read the entire post and there are some suggestions to aid communications/the CU towards the start) aka posts you dont like or dont agree with or worse still - critisize someone for not doing their job properly! *gasp* is a perfect example of why this game is heading where it is.

I seriously hope something is done about the game and about relations and that it wont HAVE to involve dragging in mmorpg.com or gaming magazines to make you guys open your eyes and listen to what the customer wants.

As a crafter on a couple servers but NOT an Armorsmith I must step in here because the failure of the Devs to "listen" to any of us is universal. I must also point out that the ONLY problem here is the communities failure to REALLY do anything about it. I read all these posts about the Devs failure to heed to the desires of us, the guys who pay their salaries, and act accordingly. How many of you guys who constantly post how the Devs never listen to us have actually cancelled your subscriptions? Almost 2 yrs into this and the problem from the beginning is the same problem as today. The devs refuse to listen to the community. If its been 2 yrs and no progress how many of you actually think its ever gonna get better?! If you want to make a statement then cancel your subscriptions. That is the only "post" they will listen to.I know this game is addictive and all but if things are that bad then quit. The devs will take notice of that if nothing else. I dont expect this post to be around long so take heed, and yes I have cancelled my subscription in case anyone asks.
