Thread: Correspondent Position

The post that was removed earlier was removed in error. The moderators received numerous reports on the thread and removed it after reviewing those posts. We are not trying to silence you or I wouldn't have posted at all. I was trying to explain why things happen and will do so again with more detail this time.
Correspondents have rules just as you do on our forums and these need to be upheld. When a correspondent goes against the rules they will be removed just as any of you would be. A correspondent's position is to bring to the Dev team the issues their profession is currently having or foresee. It isnot to rally up the troops and spam in private message tells tothe devs, just to be heard. The correspondents have direct access to our email addresses and to the correspondent forum. Unfortunately there are times when TH and I get very busy and we need to concentrate on the other duties we have. During these timesthe correspondents may nothear anything from us. We do however let them know we are still reading their posts or emails even if we aren't replying and their concerns are being brought to the table.
All of this is outlined in the correspondent forum, the application for being a correspondent and the welcome letter they receive.
Please keep it constructive, any posts that are not constructive will be removed.
The devs working on combat upgrade can either hit the forums and respond all day to your questions or work on CU. I am sure we are all in agreement with having them bang away at issues and bugs with CU rather then post all day.
what an incredible b..........
i think you simply miss the entire point and motivations of the player base. it is your duty to bring us what we want and to communicate with us.
and we clearly want more communication. we want clear statements. and if you have to state that you are unsure, state that you are unsure. if you have to state a concept, state a concept. but state something that is clear and can be understood without making sentences that can have 3 different meanings just to avoid saying something clear.
i think it is your job to save the precious time of the devs, and in my opinion you are failing. you are completely failing.you dont explain the intentions and planings of the devs. and i am nearly sure that you are not telling the devs what we want, and what we dont want.this incident shows clearly that communication is not working, and it should have been you that has to leave, and not our correspondant. because the correspondant seems to be forced to spam you to get a clear and understandable reaction from you.

Tiggs..I don't think anyone expects to see the actual developers ( the guys writing the code ) and designers of the CU to spend all day answering our concerns and questions on the forums. However, we were led to belive that both you and TH are responsible for expressing our ideas and concerns to the developers and designers. At least thats what we have been told time and time again.I read the Armorsmith Corr. forum post the other day, and it seemd to me that he wasn't getting any responce from anyone including you or TH. Which led him to belive that the only way to get the information to the actual parties responsible, would be to contact them directly. So are we now to understand that your duties have changed ? I personally belive that had you been communicating with the Armorsmith Corr. in the manor that we as a community have been led to belive you would, that he would never have taken the steps he did.I'm not suggesting that anyone is perfect. We all make mistakes, but I belive that you and TH share as much responsibility for this as the Correspondent did in his suggestion to bypass you and go to the source.
I have another word for unable to do the job. rather bigword too. "incapable" is the more politiclaly correct. I have another term witch I have used on Subs that can't do their job right. to bad tiggs isn't fired yet.

BULLSH1T!!!!!!!!! i for one would rather them pull their lip over their heads and SWALLOW! just like they should swallow this POS CU. get some customer service and get out of this secretive crap going on here. we players have a right to know what the frig is going on. when 80% of the player base thinks what they are getting is SH1T then that needs to be addressed. not some bogus letter from the pres of SOE stating a flat out lie that it is getting VERY positive feedback from the players. and friggin ban me all day every day i dont give a RATS ASS! that seems to be the policy here. for people who dont pay much attention to forums you sure do lock and delete and ban very quickly.

Lol, guess who set the May 5th deadline.
And you all know that any red name dev post anywhere on the forums turns into a 30 page thread in 2 hours withhalf pushing their smuggler/bh/jedi issues in the AS forum and the other half complaining they only said they're looking in to it. They told us their intentions a couple of times, e.g. merchant item limits, and that started a huge uproar so doesn't seem like the way to go. Communication has gone wrong from the start and is very, very hard to fix now.
Maybe when CU is done, several profs looked into, GCW expanded and other big bugs fixed we, as community, can respond calmly enough so dev's can post without starting a war on the forums andpeople tipping gamesites about how terrible SOE is doing. They want to, they spend many hours a week on this, and I'm surethey read the forums to see how their work is received. It's us that can't handle the red name posts.
Maybe if the Devs would do something they have NEVER done before-explain WHY they are doing this (and not some vague crap about making it more "immersive" when it doesn't for 90% of people affected, people wouldn't jump on every post where a red name speaks.
When they change things, they usually, affect people's playstyle and NEVER give a proper response to how we're supposed to play now. Maybe they need to remember we pay to play, not work.
Take, for example, 2 questions and responses from last night's chat.
1.) Will the icons, that a majority hate, be changed? Answer-no. We desreved an explanation as to "why the frack not?" Why are they hell-bent on ramming something as petty as new icons on us, without explaining it (no one asked for these)
2.) how will crafters survey, get to their harvesters etc? Answer-Wear a PSG and hire bodyguards. Why should we have to against Kreeltes, Durno and Chuba? These are nuisence creature but now they are Rancors to crafters. How are these bodyguards going to prevent us from getting one shot incapped from speeders? (I know now about the whole level grouping thing but why couldn't the devs say that? What if that turns out to be a "bug" for crafters?)
The problem is they are answering questions but not explaining their answers. With just the 2 above questions, and there were more, the first one answered the question but didn't explain why. (it's childish not to understand the intent of the question and only say "he asked a closed ended question!") and with the second one, only answered one aspect of it and didn't ecplain why we should be stuck in our homes (that is the lucky people that have homes with no spawns around them)
Plus, they ignored tons of questions while answering the respec question 5 times-this is pure bs that we deserve answers and accountability to.

Wait? You're still using the CU forum? For the "alpha" teams?
No wonder no one testing / playing / talking about what is on TC knows anything... its all still NDA'd

I can't believe how many people use the Dev Tracker to follow Tiggs around and post whereever she does with their lips puckered. Some of you that posted just amazed me with your "Go get'em Tiggs" and "Way to go Tiggs".
I'm not takeing sides on the AS Corr. Issue however, I am calling for all Tiggs Groupies to be BANNED from the freaking forums and given Tiggs PRIVATE email address instead of drooling all of us.
Why are you guys kissing her a$$ so much? She can't promote you......
Well...there is a Correspondent opening now so maybe she can lol

Tiggs, please don't insult us. We aren't by any means saying that they should be posting all day. Would it hurt to post once, maybe TWICE a day, to calm us down, let us know what you're thinking? Just a "Hi, hello, still thinking about what to do, will promise to get back to you as soon as we can." That took 40 seconds. There is no excuse for your lack of communication.
There are actually many replies in the CU forum and the correspondent forum from Devs. They do respond when they can.
This is the problem with you style of communication though. This person is just asking for some reasurance on certain key issues. But you post in a hidden forum so we never even know you did. This causes a COMMUNICATION GAP. You need to listen to us on this and stop being stubborn about it. Just post a little more in the main forums geez.
GOOD EXAMPLE = Helios.. awesome job by this dev. CLONE HIM

Tiggs used to be like that..key words "used to be". I'm begining to think that was only due to Tyrant and Caladryll..if you guys that know me have descovered, I've become very cynical since this CU was rammed down our throat.
Do you think writing to LA, and all the game magazines would help?
