C'mon people drop it, whats done is done, whether we agree with it or not. What are they more likely to listen to right now? Our demands over having the correspondant reinstated or our concerns over the CU? Yes, maybe Okram2k was harshly done by, but I am sure he will be one of the first to tell you to forget about what happened with him and concentrate on 'saving' the AS profession - something that can only be done, new Correspondant or not, with a team effort.
We're just making things worse for our profession continually going on about it.

- Are you knowledgeable about the Armorsmith profession?
- Are you a community leader?
- Can you objectively identify relevant issues and distinguish them from simply passionate arguments?
- Do you like organizing information and corresponding with other members of a community?
The Development Team is looking for a volunteer correspondent for the Armorsmith Profession. Participation is completely voluntary and you can stop helping out at any time. We’re just looking for someone who can help us sort through the various issues for this profession.
Some things that you need to consider when applying:
- Developing online games takes a long time. Results happen with long time involvement.
- Player Correspondents should be leaders in their community and set a positive tone.
- Player Correspondents should understand the technical aspects of playing the profession and the needs of their community.
- Player Correspondents should be in touch with the communities concerns, understanding the essence of why players pursue their chosen profession.
- Please include your forum name in the letter
If this is something you are interested in, please write a short paragraph on why you think you would be a good candidate and email it to [email protected]. Please put Armorsmith Correspondent in the Subject Line. By submitting this email to us, you agree to allow us to contact you in connection with Star Wars Galaxies and agree that all correspondence with and material submitted to SOE will be the exclusive property of SOE and SOE may use such materials without limitation and in its sole discretion.
After we have reviewed the submissions, we will pick one person to be our correspondent. We will set them up with a special community title here on the forums and ask them to help highlight for us the relevant issues relating to this profession.
We will still continue to monitor the forums and read as many threads as we can. The correspondent is just to help us focus on the top issues and community concerns of the profession.
Thank you.
*Note: please make your letter the main body of the text. E-mail attached items are automatically deleted as part of our spam filter.
So tiggs, essentially you guys booted Okram2k for standing up and trying to fight for what the players wanted..... Hmmm i believe Oram2k has now just become SWG's first Martyr... He gained the trust and admiration of every armorsmith by a single action.. that action was by being HONEST with us and communicating with us... realize now.. that you have sealed the fate of this game.. it will perhaps be the shortest run game in the history of mmorpg's
That post CLEARLY ILLUSTRATES what is wrong with the AS forums right now.
OKRAM2k WAS NOT FIRED FOR STANDING UP FOR WHAT PLAYERS WANTED - HE WAS FIRED FOR ORGANIZING A MAIL-BOMBING OF BLIX'S MAILBOX.
When someone becomes a martyr, there are 2 kinds - the kind that become a martyr because they have done so much good that the world (and not just their community) recognizes them, and then their are the terrorist martyrs, who break the law and die doing something horribly wrong, and is considered a martyr only by the people who have the same, misguided, horribly off-center view that the original had.
Okram was the latter. And that says a lot about you as a community, with a small % of exceptions.
The fact is, it scares me to see how many off-base excuses people make in order to RATIONALIZE, not justify, their anger, so that way they can carry on like immature children, and explain that they are too immature to control themselves, and it's all the devs fault.
Well excuse me for being an adult, but I have far more self-control than that. Besides that, anyone with a cool head and half a brain realizes that all this misplaced angst is only causing us to lose valuable time that we could be using to fix our profession. No offense, but being jaded never got anyone anywhere.

Every time I read the word 'Whiners' on this forum, I am reminded how immature the majority of the comunity is. Not the ones 'whining', but the ones who choose to look at any complaint, suggestion, or criticism as whining. I mean, they even use a word most commonly in the vocabulary of 4 year olds.

That is a rationalization. Fact is, when people complain, criticize, or suggest something over and over when it's obvious the answer is NO, then that IS whining.
And that is what the AS community is doing right now - repeating themselves like a broken record. They aren't trying to come up with different things, they aren't trying to have the curb tweaked to make it more fun. No, they are trying to get the devs to put in the old system of crafting, even though countless times they have been told that a lot of that stuff is going away (like encumberance, for instance).
You know how many times I have seen someone ignorantly claim "the old system wasn't broke!" FAR TOO MANY. It's broke. And it has been for a long time. It's broken in terms of balance. And yet, try as one might, no one can get these people to realize the old system is far too broken and unbalanced to be put into this new one - that putting it in would unbalance the game again.
So yes, there are plenty of whiners here. But the ones complaining of the whining are also the ones who want to get this forum back to being proactive, and figuring out NEW ways to make AS fun.
Sorry, but the reputation of the As forum being a bunch of complainers is well-deserved right now.

Oh I know tell me about it, a bunc of whiners in those armorsmiths I mean seriously Toasted-Oaks or whatever his name is broke the rules. so how about instead of trying to get him back on after being fired. and wasting precious testing time you just stop acting like kids and get a new correspondent. Because a wise man once said "You have two jobs....to get mad and to get over it"
spoken like a true combat person.

Spoken like a true appeaser.
You should hang your head in shame.
