Thread: Correspondent Position
lwwrestler wrote:Thanks for the info Tiggs, but would it hurt for us to hear anything about our issues?
This kind of amuses me. I understand you AS types are upset about a lot of the changes. I just find it amusing that the dev tracker has devs posting in pretty much 3 places for the last while. The AS Forum, the Commando Forum, and the In Testing Forum. At least you're getting some kinds of reponse. Reading the issues threads, it kind of amazes me that unarmed has no weapons and haven't even had it acknowledged yet. At least you guys are getting commentary from the Devs, even if they're not telling you what you want to hear.

No offense Tiggs, but "Community Relations" is in your title. When you are too busy to do what your title says you do, then I say that SOE is obviously short-handed and has the priorities misaligned.
And "communication" implies a 2-way street. There is a term for people who keeping talking to something that does not respond: it is "insanity". In this case, the SWG forum must be the largest looney bin in the world.
Again I have to stick up for TIggs. To those of you that have a real job and support yourself or a family.. you do what it takes to make your boss happy!!!!!!! Please read that again..... Do not blame Tiggs or TH.. They are doing thier job.. But who defines thier job????
That is the person to blame.
Excellent way to get yourself out of a job. You do your job correctly and to the best of your abilities. If you have a great and competent boss, then yes, you do whatyour boss wants. However when your boss wants you to do something wrong, you object. If it means you get fired, well guess what, you are out of a job if you do your job wrong anyways, so is your boss.

You sound like you've worked before and you know quite well that the way you deliver the message is as important as anything else. If you don't want to disclose anything fine, but don't come in and say everything is okay, move along nothing to see here. Let me guess, we should still be looking for those weapons of mass destruction.

The comments are pretty harsh right now but they are all warranted...there's an old expression, don't piss down my neck and tell me it's raining. Everyone of Tigg's post would suggest that this is business as usual and there is no problem.
Better to come in and say hey, we've been busy doing things, we're sorry for the lack of response...anything, but don't come in and say that you've been giving all the information and addressing everything when even your correspondent can't get any answers from you.
As long as she wouldn't get fired for doing that, then in my opinion she should have been doing that all along.. Point of my story.. we don't know what her or TH's job is on paper.. we only know what SOE has told us about thier jobs.. Come on. If you are running a for profit company and you have two folks slacking on the job you would cut them very fast.. But instead.. SOE promoted TH and then hired Tiggs.. Think about it.. Maybe TH has some dirty blackmail pics of the SOE CEO and was friends with TIggs to get her a job.. but I would think TH would be higher up than what he is if that was the case.

Man, I thought the Jedi were a bunch of wussy whiners.Have you thought that maybe the reason there is no response is because theyre trying to come up with an alternate solution to present to you?Theres nothing wrong with making your displeasure with a change known. Thats how the devs know they need to change it. But the correspondent trying to start a freaking revolution because something has been on test center a week is rediculous.I'm glad someone like that is gone.
He wasnt trying to start a revolution, he couldnt get any answers from the devs. Also if they were coming up with an alternate idea then tell us so, not keep quiet. They may be the designers but we are the ones who play the game in the end. That has been one of their major marketing downfalls, they rarely ever tell us anything, sure we got Screen shots of cyborg arms and plants, but that had nothing to do with how combat would act, how crafting would change, now they wait till 1 month before they are supposed to release it and find out no one likes it. That is their own problem. And stop bother Tiggs, she has her bosses also, most are kept on a tight leash about the info they can give out, it is SOEs fault not Tiggs.

The devs working on combat upgrade can either hit the forums and respond all day to your questions or work on CU. I am sure we are all in agreement with having them bang away at issues and bugs with CU rather then post all day.

I would rather the devs respond to our questions and listen to us than screw up a game behind our backs.
"Community Relations" ?

You and 33 other professions want answers RIGHT NOW to their immediate concerns.
Looking in the Dev Tracker, I see several posts devs in the AS forum. One of them being a cut in resource requirement by 50%, a sign that they are listening, although the ungrateful community still whined it was too high. From the way this crowd is acting, he could have cut it by 90% and they would still whine that organics were expensive and should be removed all together.
No consideration is made in how this all fits in with the rest of the combat upgrade. I see no posts from armorsmiths that have tested the high end armors on test center and seen what the combat players that will be wearing it think of it.
Considering the mitigation bonuses combat professions get, experimenting down hinderence (which seems to be the biggest complaint, that by upping the protection, you raise the hinderence) may be worthless anyway. If I have 60% mitigation on movement on my assault armor, what do I care if you've got the hinderence experimented down to 25%?
This isn't the old encumberence system. You can't look at it and try to make judgment calls on whats going on with the CU system.
Weaponsmiths have only had one useful line to experiment on since the beginning of the game. What makes the weaponsmith? His resources. It'll be the same with armorsmiths post CU (granted this wont change, which it will because despite the idiotic behavior of the people on this board, the devs DO still care).
So this is my big beef with the armorsmiths. You haven't even gotten in the game and seen if this is actually a legitimate concern or not.

well, guess devs are takin into consideration the people they gonna lose vs the people they gonna gain. The CU is gonna fluck up the game. Wish they would listen to what most people want instead of what the devs or whoever "thinks" we want. WOW, here i come
Don't let the door hit you on the way out and see you when you come back (everyone comes back... if they actually do more than threaten adn do leave).
