Yes, but at least in the Hunting armor, you wouldnt want to. The Special Protection is Kinetic, and from the looks of it, should be pretty easy to hit with 3x kinetic layers (it would cap at 80% no matter what the scale you used is.) If you used scales, it would push acid, heat, energy, etc. up into the Special Protection as well, making it unslicable. Sure, if you had an exceptional scale (one in the 30% neighborhood), then that could be useful.

Sorry for the NOOB question but, why would moving things up to special protection make the armor unsliceable ?

Base resists are the only resists effected by an effectiveness slice. Anything in the Special Protection category will remain the same as before the slice.

OK, having crafted well over a dozen suits of Hunting Armor, here are my views:

Resources - The resources are NOT a problem. They were easily obtainable within a few hours. I had 7 people (paid them by giving them the first suits) help me get them and had factories up and running the evening the armor was brought into the game. Granted, I did have to wait for the next day to craft due to horn requirements being impossible to meet. As for gated resources, it's pretty much taken care of in the mads already. With CRAP resources, my hunting armor was 78%kinetic (no experimentation), 58% base (experimented) and very light (less than 450/400/350 Experimented). I have tracked all the wood on all planets for some time (without gathering), knowing that some would be required for wookiee armor. Our current wood spawns have some of the lowest stats I've seen in a while. It will be nothing to get 80%/70% in no time at all. If that isn't good enough, I don't know what is. The hunting armor is easily better than RIS and much easier to obtain. Now that requirements have been changed to require Naboo Wooly, it's even easier. I don't understand the complaining about gated stats and materials being too hard to get from folks who haven't crafted the first suit.

Also I noted folks talking about inventory space. That's fine too. This just helps by allowing us a larger market. We have smiths gearing up to specialize in wookiee armor. Nothing says that every armorsmith has to make every armor. That's just silly, due to this very issue. As more armors are added, this will be even more apparent.

Sorry, I didn't read through all of the previous posts (1st and last page only), so if all this has already been mentioned, feel free to ignore or flame away.

I know folks have asked me a ton of questions about this stuff the last few days, so if you would like to know anything, log into TC and ask for Morik. I will happily answer anything you ask. I don't log in here more than once every few weeks, so I may not see any questions posted here. Additionally, all flames, burns, disagreements, questions, or comments are always welcome and taken under consideration

This is great armor, guys and gals Too bad there aren't more wookiees

Well thats a bit more encouraging to hear....

If you got screens of your crafted armors and care to show them please do so... I would like to see a full suit of hunting armors HAMs...

I have come to acceptance with the resouce list... and so far I can make up for the lack of quality on some of the things by using superior quality resouces for the secondary items...

Have you crafted any of the black mountain armor? How does it compare to the Hunting armor? From what I've seen there's little (or no) differentiation in the types of damage protection and once these new armors go live there will be no reason any Wookiee will wear ceremonial OR black mountain armor.

I have a question about how Hunting Armor experiments.

Does it work somewhat like composite where the "natural" special experiments up along with the base on final assembly, or does the natural special experiment separately?

I have only played with BMA a little. Grawrr may be able to tell you more about it. I really think that BMA is the most useless of the wookiee armors and see little use for beyond experimentation ( which is fun in its own right. hehe).

Also, I would like to point out an error in my previous post. I listed my encumbs at 450/400/350. In reality it was 450/400/250.

I have several screenies at imagedump.com.

Also, I am working on several new layers atm. When the factories are done, I will do some more experimenting.

And experiment your Hunting armor EXACTLY as you would composite. They work thesame.

Later all

Ok Those look nice... and considering it experiments just like composite Caping Kinetic will be simple...

Only thing I think needs to change is they need to eather add an additonal 20k to the durability of the chest plate, or Split it up int Bracers, Biceps, Helm, Chest and leave the duribility alone..

As a wookiee armorsmith and using Wookiee armor as a standard seller, I will say that I sell more chest plates, due to the fact that they burn out faster then anything else out there...

I would suggest upping to an average of 60k durability due to the fact it the chest is covering 4 Hit locations so that it will just last as long as the rest of the stuff will, or last as long as High Grade composite will when in the Higher end Dungons like the DWB and the Corevette...

A good Effectiveness slice and your in business and can go against a lot of the higher end content for a long while!!

But other than that seeing those screens with HAMs and Resistances and knowing your making new layers.. well then I can say its going to a problem keeping up on the organics, but its worth it... So Donate the resouces to the smith you want to make your armor, as I am sure they will be more than happy to give it to you free or at a steap discount...

But that stuff does look nice... Thank you for sharing!!

These are some very good stats. Especially the ham costs. I can see there being massive calls for "nerf the wookiee" after this goes live. The total mind is lower than what a normal composite often would have. eff-sliced, this armor would be like wearing unusually funny looking clothing :-)

Yeah you noticed that too.....

Hey part of the byproduct of using all those woods is that Wood almost always spawns with a MAL of 700 to 1000 where most of the inorganics are heavy so it costs you more in ham costs...

So with the organics, light weight coppers, and polymers the suit will end up being fairly light...

But thats just a side effect of the selected materials... Oh well...

I just like the fact that it experiments exactly like composite... thats a major plus in my book!

Leaving the new resources aside, this armor rocks.... Come on, I can see 80% kenitic, 56% base, 25% stun type armor possible - with silly low HAM costs. This will come in time, just a matter of waiting a month or two for some nice resources. Thinking of re-rolling so I can take advantage of the better armor wooks can now use.

No I am not mad - I take this from the following....

http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=98745&poll_id=0&warned=y

Making a couple of assumptions that 3 high base layers were used, say 4.33% with 4% kenitic. The unlayered armor would be:

45% base

66% kenitic

Now I assume that with better resources, and more experiance crafting this armor we can at least get base to 50% (I think the end result may be even higher)... Add 1x 14%k 2% base layer and 2 x 12.5% stun 2% base layers and the result is as above....

It seems that this wookie armor , after initial scares, is going to be worth crafting after all. Its stats may not be as good as composite, but the HAM costs are superb.

Which leads me on to my next question, does anyone have any estimates as to when it goes live?
