Thread: 2 different smiths able to hit 44 stun on Intrepid(Edited on Oct 14 with how we did it)
I'd like to be sure, though, so I know I'm not wasting my time.
so with this information in mind, did you stop crafting after your stomach was too full to eat more pyollian cake?and after 6 or so assemblies, did you wait for 45 mins for your stomach to empty so you could repeat the process?

I log in and start grinding here and there for a few days and ate the "assembly food." Within a matter of about 100 experiments
If this is true then Im going to have to go grind resource hunting lol

I don't believe that luck has much to do with it - it's just down to plain old probability. Two 35% slices in a day is improbable, but not impossible. Rocky managed to replicate Yaman's success through sheer perseverance (and he's clearly stated his motivation for the attempt). With assembly rolls, we're just going to have to be insanely patient to hit the critical success.
I was fortunate enough to break a resource cap last night with an amazing assembly. Unfortunately, it was on an AV-21, not the kinetic layers I spent two hours throwing away the night before. Go figure.
For info: on the AV-21 I maxed the single line at 96% rather than the normal 94%, with 3 exp points remaining.
I made an AV for a friend and hit 100% experimentation with resources that usually would not go past 89%. I was a bit amazed.
(no, it was not nerf day)
Do not have screenies, but I'm sure my friend still has the AV with the perfect condition.

Just to let you guys know, Critical successes come up under normal circumstances about 1 in 15000 attempts. What a critical success does is acts as if the resources used during crafting were 100% perfect. IE 1000/1000/1000/1000/400. This gives the obvious bonus of higher base stats on an item but also removes the experimentation limit allowing for 100% experimentation. And it also means that, if this is what you are trying to do, the materials you use don't matter. You can use Grind level material.
Things that effect Critical Success chances are your crafting levels, player city bonuses, force sensitive crafting bonuses, etc.
That's all theory. The odds of 1:15000 is theory and using grind resources is theory. Perhaps the odds are 1:15000 if you used grind but 1:150 with better quality /shrug If those are facts please post a link of where that information resides.
Since we are specualting and the only thing we know is that these two smiths have made them, reproduced it, the best information we have is the data they collected when it occured. At least now we are starting to be mindful of the assemblies and are attempting to recreate this on other servers. I think its a bit discouraging to tell people those odds - 1:15000 sounds as if it will never happen, yet it has, twice, and repeated.

Do we (the community) know if the Critical Success is actually displayed on the assembly window or is it a term that we have adopted? I will continue to play with layers in hopes that I can actually have this happen to me, but I am stopping at the assembly screen. I look at the numbers and if they are identical to a Great or Amazing I stop and build another. Sure wish we had more info on this. This could bring a whole new level of Armor to each server for those that have the patience to hit this Crictical Success.
Well i've done some searching and i've been able to come up with some very informative pages such as:
"There are too many searches being performed. Try again later." And:
"There are too many searches being performed. Try again later."
What i can say though, is that the discussion of Critical Successes started in relation to the Jedi Force sensitive crafting skills and what they did. Since it became apparant that they did NOT give people a bonus to their experimentation points people wanted to know what they really did. Add to that the reward given for one of the Crafting quests is a lightsabre crafting device that grants 5 gauranteed Critical Successes and that is where the term Critical Success came from. There is also a reward on each server of a device that gives 20 Critical successes that was given to a select few people.
Regarding whether there is a prompt for Crits; i don't know. I am not a crafter nor have i ever been one. I do spend a good deal of time reading the boards however and that is where I reference my knowledge from. In many of the topics related to critical successes people reference a post by the devs stating that critical successes should happen equally as often as critical failures. I only have second hand knowledge of any post by the devs so i can't back that up. If we assume that they did say this, however, it obviously doesn't work that way. Crit failures happen about as often as amazing successes and amazing successes are not giving out the results seen on these pieces of armor.

I've found that Google is sometimes better at searching these boards than the boards themselves.

Im guessing what is happeneing is that crafters are able to get a hidden bonus to add onto the resources that you are using when crafting. This bug or freak assembly will not make any resource you use act like all the qualities are 1000 or whatever that type of resource caps at.
I'm sure it would take about 1 or 2 minutes for a dev that has any crafting knowledge to clear up this whole mess.

Do you have ANY sort of reference to back this up?
