Macros - Page 65 of game manual.
-OR-
Hit hit CNTL A
This will bring up your macro window. It lists all of your combat hotkeys, social hotkeys, macros, and other hotkeys. You need to lick on the macro tab.
Under macro find the button somewhere near the bottom named create new. Click it.
I window will pop up. At the top you can name your macro. In the middle you can select your icon for your macro. Dont worry about selecting an icon that is already in use. Its just for looks. And at the bottom is a space for you to type your macro.
Every special move and most commands have a command line equivalent. Example. You can either drag and drop your headshot2 special move from the combat list or you can create your own macro and in the command body type /headshot2
Note: You must use a semi colon after every command to indicate a new command is next.
Example macro: Dancing
Name
anceDanceRevelution
Icon: what ever
Command text:
/stand; /startdance basic; /pause 5; /flourish 3; /pause 20; /flourish 2; /pause 20; /flourish 6;
/say Please tip your entertainers. 100 cr is the norm;
....thats it. Then once you have your macro you can drag and drop it into your hotkey list. Alternately you can assign a key stroke combination to activate your macro. For example I have my harvest and loot macros assigned to CNTL NUMPAD1 for /harvest bone, CNTL NUMPAD2 for /harvest hide, and CNTL NUMPAD3 for /harvest meat. Also /loot all is set to CNTL NUMPAD 0.
To do this you need to bring up your keymap. Hit CNTL O for options. Chosse the tab controls, select keymap. There will be a tab for your user defined macros. Find your macro you want to assign a key to and double click it or click it once and choose rebind. Your screen will grey out and a window will prompt you for the proper keystroke combination. Hit ok. Important next step: HIT APPLY before you hit okay again. Then hit ok or escape out and you're done.
Enjoy.

Two quick things:
Starting a new line is the same as a semicolon. However semicolons are better because I believe their is a line cap.
If you just do a semicolon and write things after it, it goes down as a say command, and you don't have to "/say".
Yes it is. First, lets say you put your pistol in the Shift-F11hotkey (slot 22)and your carbine in the Shift-F12 hotkey (slot 23) on hotkey bar 6 (bar 05). Note that the slot and bar numbers are one less than you think, because they start with 00, not 01, when using the slash commands.
Now, your macro will look like this:
/ui action toolbarPane05; (changes to toolbar 6)
/ui action toolbarSlot22; (toggles the item in slot Shift-F11, if your pistol was unequipped, it is now equipped)
/healthshot1; (does the healthshot, I believe the 1 needs to be there but not positive on that one)
/ui action toolbarSlot23; (toggles the item in slot Shift-F12, switching to carbine)
(I'd also stick your favorite carbine attack here once or twice)
Doh! I must not be quite awake yet... I forgot to end the macro.
/ui action toolbarPane00; should go before your carbine styled attacks to switch you back to toolbar 1. And then stick this macro on toolbar 1.
Mennace says:
"I agree one shouldn't be alowed to macro for the 8hrs they're @ work but it's usefull to get a 30 or so mins of harvesting done after you fall asleep..."
Roqu32 says:
"Personally, I'm not going to get too used to macro'ing. I think the "nerf" bat might take a swing at macro sampling. It takes away from the effectiveness of the harversters..."
Eddieo says:
"I dont like the abuse of macros i do think that using one so my char isn't standing there while i go to the john or to have a smoke is ok. i run thru a sampling macro to let my char sample 3 times isn't abuse..."
Shufflefield asks:
"So we can macro in SWG and SoE won't get it's panties all bunched up?"
You guys can't be serious, right? SOEbuilt macro and aliascapability into the game. It's there to be used, so why all of the festering guilt for doing so? You either use these features, or you don't. Some of us are just looking for ways to use these features most effectively.
Even more comical are the folks that say stuff like, "I think it's OK to use macros to automate boring stuff for 4 hours and 15 minutes, but once you go beyond 5 hours, well, that's just abuse..." Huh? I suppose you also think pressing the Num-Lock key to automate running is also abuse, unless you turn it offbefore crossing a maximum of 3 hills and valleys? /boggle
Remember, SOE also offers EverQuest - a game in which mostcharacters are on 24-7 ... when they aren't at the keyboard killing stuff, they are in unattended merchant mode (as a Trader in the Bazaar) selling their hard won bounty. If "unattended play" rubs you the wrong way, all I can suggest is that you get over it. It appears to be fast becoming the way of the future. It also seems to be a step toward levelling the playing field between those who can afford to sitat their computer for 12 hours a day, and those who can't. Just some thoughts...

There IS a way to loop a /sample macro indefenitally. I Also have many other tricks up my sleeve that can make you combat classes more effective through the use of macros as well . . .
