I assume you mean the BER rating. its essentially the no. of units mined per minute
so a BER 4 on a 100% spot will pull up
4x60x24x100% = 5760 units per day.
on lower percentage spots, it obviously drops.
Personnal harvs cost 30cr in maintenance and 25 units of energy per hour and can be max BER4
Mediums cost 60cr / 50 energy per hour and can be max BER10
Heavies cost 90cr / 75 energy and can be max BER 13
Wind, solar and fusion generators work on the same principle for the extraction rate but do not need power to run
they all cost 60cr per hour to run
Cant remember the max BER on solars
Wind Gens are max Ber 8 (i think)
Fusions Max at BER 14

ummmm jedi need resources to make their sabers. it would make sense that they are able to harvest their own. i guess you're so much better than me and proved it with your IQ comment.

Not to be rude, but maybe that is his sig?
Also no it doesn't make sense. The devs talked a long time ago about professions relying on each other. You need doctors, you need weaponsmiths you need armorsmiths you need hunters to get the meats for the doctors you need tanks to keep the hunters alive etc etc. Jedi are already very independent. They need to be tied to professions such as artisan for their resources.

Mr Brownstone, that Is my signature, it was not directed at you. I was just stating a fact.
No you cant place structures, but you can have them transferred to you. I am not sure if this is considered an exploit so I didn't post it. Now that it has already been stated, it doesnt matter.
My signature is a personal poke at all the people who have little to offer these forums but negative comment. I also have used the comment that not all opinions are of equal merit, which has annoyed a number of people who like to talk about the right of free speech, without thinking about the responsibilities that go along with that right.
If my signature offended you, I apologize. But I will not change it. Anyone who has read my posts before, knows how I feel about people who never offer anything positive to the community. I am vocal in stating the obvious. I try to do it without any name calling, but will never shy away from calling someone acting moronic a moron.
Your question was a fair one.

You really need the Survey line from the Artisan Profession to place these effectively. With survey, you can find the resource you need, wherever it is and whatever it's concentration is, and then place your harvesters.
Another option is to ask a friend to survey for you, or to take an educated guess and place them in a location where others have done so...

You can carry the harvestors with you and when you find a field of harvestors you can place yours there. But, your still guessing on what is being mined there. The other harvestors might not be mining the higher %.
Your best bet is to get survey and use the surveying tools.

I also suggest checking the artisan boards, I'm sure they have a nice guide in there to help you out.

Are there varyingqualities of harvesters? What should I be looking for in a harvester? or are they all the same.
Thanks!
