Thread: /pay command isn't working on harvs and factories + arguing with Pawlin thread

Actually, I do rent. Rent, beg, borrow, and have an extra account just for the mobile lots. Nine of my harvs were part of a lot swap, but I'm the third person to have them and got them by default--I was the only one who could afford the maintenance and cared to use them; any other offers to do lot swaps I've declined. But everything else is either a live player or something a guildmate dropped for me before cancelling. (Is that any different?)
And I still think that lot swaps area viable alternative. The people that need to compete? Me, for one. If you're able to make an enjoyable living using one factory and a few harvs to make and mine everything, more to you, but to me, there's no game in that.
As for need, well, if I didn't have my extra, the sun would still come up, I'd still have air to breathe andthere'd still be food in my cupboards, but I'd be done with the game. I'm in it to craft, and if I can't, why bother? I need my extra lots to do what I'm doing.
I think, Pawlin, that it isn't your view that bothers me, it's the way you state it. Your words come across as if you feel you have the decisive word on the matter, instead of coming across as your opinion.
Mate, if P-didy pisses you off with his calm demeanor I highly suggest you never get into an argument with me...!

There is no bus in my town and don't have a bike.
Pawlin. Buy me a car.
Are your legs broke?

Why do you NEED those 9 lots? You could replace them with rented lots right? So therefore you do not NEED lot swaps.
My point all along has been that WE do not NEED lot swaps. There are other ways of doing it. Nobody arguing in this thread has explained why they NEED lot swaps. They are saying they NEED them but never saying why they NEED them or why they can't do other things.
Why do I need a car? To drive to work. Well I could ride the bus or walk or ride my bike. I want a car.
Again, its not that I'm saying lot swaps are bad. I'm just saying it is only one way and its not therefore a NEED.
My opinion isn't even really being discussed here. I'm arguing the logic of this alleged 'NEED'.
If you can't refute my logic or support yours then I win the debate.
Well, not exactly. If my job is working at the 7-11, sure. My job, however, requires that I drive between 12 sites in San Diego. Not to mention that I fly to Arabia, Europe and throughout the USA to other sites. ![]()

But How does the game get ruined if You take the few harvesters lots you are using and use those for your factories.. and just buy the resources? Raise your prices a bit to compensate? then Not only are you providing a good income for yourself but you are also providing a good income for a few other people.. Its a win win situation for everyone...
On Eclipse, opening bids for armorsmith (or WS)materials that are in shift run 3-5 cpu. That's other AS/WS setting the prices, not the sellers. Anything older is at least 5 cpu unless you get lucky; some of my materials are 20 to 100 cpu. (That's not including organics.) After spending 40 million plus all my profits on getting the best I can get, I'm still coming up short. So my choices are: put out mediocre armor, which is not why I'm an AS, or harvest myself, which I can do.
Come to think of it, maybe my situation is unique to Eclipse. I mean, 5.5 cpu offers for something that just shifted in is insane.
