Thread: Is this a known bug?

If this has been your question / concern all along why all the arguing? Asking would have been a better way to get the issue addressed rather thandisagreeing onpoints you had no interest in.
The reason for the argument seems pretty clear to me. When aglanon brought up his question, Drashk chose to answer with the clearly false "risk/reward" point. What followed was a disproof of that position, and a subsequent resistance to accepting that disproof. It is not a matter of asking a question to have a point addressed. People come to the boards, often, to discuss the relative merits of this or that aspect of gameplay. This has been one of those discussions.
I'm confused as to why you are against such discussion, and even more so confused as to why you've chosen this particular discussion in which to make that stand. It seems to me the General Discussion board is much more in need of being told to accept and move on. Every day people still request the CU get rolled back. The discussion in this thread at least centers on something that has a marginal potential of being changed.

If you want the XP, don't use a droid/pet to do the work for you. If you want to finish a task and don't care if you get the XP, use a droid/pet.

At this time, the droids are not as they could/should be. We all know combat droids, and even droids in general, are in pretty bad shape. People just have to deal with it. This has become a drawn out debate on the ramifications of combat droids and is, to be frank, quite boring.
The idea of droids is to make things easier. Actually, to make things easier for your character. If you character comes across a group of angry animals, the droid is there to ward/kill them off. But, people would use droids to make things easier as in leveling up a combat character, which is way the risk/reward system is in place.
If little damage, full XP were implemented, then a CL1 couldn't defend themselves by using their droid because it couldn't cause enough damage fast enough. And one of the main reasons of combat droids is actually to defend, rather than to attack. Those who are at the same level as the droid wouldn't need the droid to do thing they could do by themselves and still get the XP they need. Whereas a CL 1 entertainer without any combat abilities would need the droid and are not conserned about XP.
And for the record, I never mentioned any names. By people, I mean the general gaming community. There are alot of good players out there and follow the game as intended, but there are an equal amount of players who would abuse the system.
Oh, and please stop saying red herring.

they need to give you and the other fifty million people like you their own forum. I would call it the **Mod Bot - Be Nice** Forum. That way people could argue back and forth with each other on a subject that is going no where and will never stop. We are DE's. We make the droids. We don't dictate how much xp they will give you.
So now we're not even allowed to debate topics?

NO! j/k. Of course you can, but this topic doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and it seems to be causing tension. I vote to let it die.
