You go Daylin!

Wow! You solo architects sure know how to point the fingers eh? You try to come down on people who can do things cheaper than you instead of on the miners who are making money hand over fist and you people fall for it! Think about it...

I have not crunched the numbers yet, but it cost roughly .5 to 1 credit per resource to mine, depending on the %. Most resources could sell for 1 cpu and still more than double the investment!

An you people perpetuate that by paying 5 credits per! The miners are looking at architects and thinking "suckers!"

My god! This is a multi person game! Find a couple friends and borrow their un-used lots! I'm supported by my pa and I provide them with all their houses and furniture free of charge. I have never bought a resource on the bazaar and have many return customers outside the PA. I'm sure I do undercut your prices, but I'd feel guilty charging more.

Stop pointing your fingers at the people doing business smarter than you and point them at the miners who are price gouging you. 5 cpu in nothing short of robbery! Especially when architects could use materials with 0 overall quality with no adverse affect to the product! I will not pass on price increases to my clients because other architects insist on supporting overcharging miners.

The higher the price of architectural items, the more people will decide to become architects. Prices will inevitably drop to a point where many will feel it is no longer worthwhile to be an architect.

It's also a no-brainer that the architect class is a deadend, absent any changes, since we can make no consummables.

That's just the way it is, and it does no good to whine about it. Price fixing efforts are doomed to failure, since it will only result in some pissed off people deciding to become architects.

We need to have experimentation fixed.

We need to have Durrability and decayed added to our class.

Price fixing wont happen but bringing in consumables to our class could and should.

3 point Shot Tommar!

Yes, the more profitable archetects become, the more people become architects, the customer base is dwindling ( and is likely to continue to dwindle ) As more and more architects compete for fewer and fewer customers the price will drop through the floor.

In a while we will be lucky to sell something at a loss, and what will really yank thier chain, is thatvery fewwill buy resrouces at 3per anymore either.

Somethingneeds to be done about the economy, but that something should NOT be aimed at making archetect specifically more profitable, that is a spiral into oblivion.

Decay needs to be established on structures, either that or stop all abiilty to re-deed anything, even extractors. ( ducks ) That would mean that resrourse shifts will need to be slowed, I always thoguht resrouces shoudl gradually dissappear, instead of now you see it, now you dont.

That will create a demand for products.

You forgot to mention that it is the same people buy and selling those resources that are the competition.

I disagree, I think Sam Walton who did exactly what you mentiond was a very good businessman.

Prove your case and actually sell over 50,000 in resources in one day for 4-6 credits each, or whatever you think the raw materials value is. 50,000 in resources per day is probably on the low end for a master architect. You can't compare 500 blocks of high quality resources selling for 2500-3000 to thestuff we can use to build structures. The fact that I can place harvesters within a thousand meters or so of my house is a tremendous advantage, which I learned yesterday when setting up harvesters to make stims. On two planets and one more to go.

BTW, I paid 3 credits perunit for an organic resource that had both Overall Quality and Potential Energy over 900. The stuff my architect harvests cannot compare.

It amazes me to see all of you Architects getting so upset at each other for what pricesfinished products are sold for. Who you shouldbe pissed at are all of the people selling resources for ungodly amounts. Any fool can throw down some harvesters, get some resources and screw all of us who are willingly buying them.

Some of us have steady suppliers who charge decent prices, some of us harvest ourselves using extra lots from others or second accounts, but alot of people buy from the bazaar or from people shouting out.

With the exception of a few, I haven't seen many prices on this board that are too low, provided you are obtaining your resources in such a way that allows you to make a good profit.

If you are buying all of your resources or are buying structural components pre-made, then that's probably where you are getting screwed, not by other architects. Focus your rage people, it's not the architects causing these problems, it's the suppliers charging high prices for resources. But then again, if people are stupid enough to pay it, then things will never change.

I also tend to think of undercutters who do it on purpose as either too selfish to think of others in the game or not smart enough to realize that they could be getting more. As it's a game it shouldn't matter what people charge. What matters is people attacking my prices, which feels like it's an attack on me. big whooptie do if you can sell for cheaper then me. Keep it to yourself. It's just mean to promote your prices the way you do Dayln when the majority of us aren't asking for anything unfair. You make alot of people feel bad for being fair minded and reasonable.

That's right Rheet, and if anything I think the current pricing structure is too low because it doesn't allow an architect to buy resources to compete. Prices should be from 7-10 cpu for, what I feel, the market to be a stable pricing.

hmm,

obviously dayln isnt a businessman and in real life i would fire him from my company with his opinions.

that apart, the problem isnt how mch money whoever has.

this all is about logic, business and market.

if u got pure resources on market for 3 to 4 cr average, which is the case (no skills needed, no failure risks, no factories, no personal craft station needed) then its obviously that architect plus all other crafters need to get sales for more then 3 to 4 cr per unit or its considered a loss.

there is not 1 argument against that and dont even try it.

sure we get cause we set up our own harvesters the resources cheaper, BUT if you see the market value of them, it IS 3 to 4 cr per unit pure resource.

so the price needs for an undercutter even to be 4 cr per unit cause he needs skill, failcovers, time (oh yes time all forget and its sad cause this game isnt real life, so ppl just dont count it)

but why ppl run a business normally? sure to make some win, and the win you get only if u are above the market value.

somehow for ALL other crafting professions it works pretty fine. i dont know how many resources a composite armor set costs to make, but i am sure way lesser then a heavy mine, but that armor costs over 100k. see the "little" difference?

we even get blamed if we try to sell for 5cr per needed unit. and only cause of ppl like dayln.

how often i have to hear "50k for a factory? that a bit high man" and i can always just dig my head in the ground and reply "well it takes over 13k resources and so 50k is almost price of pure resources, but i need skills to make and have the risk of failures to make it"

its more ten annoying that i have t explain many ppl how many resources i need to produce a big structure.

i do it anyways and most ppl agreee then that a price for like 5 cr per needed unt is fair, but several not, they waste alot cash on armor or weapons for very high margin to the crafters, but whine about structure prices and just look up the cheap guy then.

i would like to see that people like dayln would wake up and realise how "business" and "economy" are difined.

but well when that guy start working in real life and feel the real touch and sense of the economy then they will see what all architects here say to you, but sadly then the economy in swg is ruined already.

/sigh

Business is war, and it is PVP war. You need to learn that. Your ranced taste does not bother me at all. This is not the USSR where some government sets prices, this is not OPEC in the Arab world where a few big bozos decide what everyone else pays. This is not some monolopy that a PA owns. This is a free market, an open market, you commies!

Are you even going to respond to the fact that what you are doing is illegal in the US? Or do you just choose to ignore that part. What Walmart did is different than what you are doing now.

It's price fixing that is illegal, under-cutting the competition is not. Not that this has any relevance. Killing people is illegal too, but it happens all the time in games.

Explain that part.... I havent figured it out yet.

How is it illegal to make a good profit selling for sell than others do?

Sam Walton isnt in jail, as a matter of fact he is 6 ft under, but he never went to jail. Sam Walton actually sold at a loss on some itmes, I dont do that, I have never sold at a loss.

I cant respond becasue I dont understand what you think is illegal. You also have to understand that Naboo or whever is not in the US and not under US law. Murder is also illegal in the US and it happens on Tatoine on my server every day.

But back to the question, you explain to me what it is that is illegal and I will respond.

if you mean a monolopy where the same person that creates the raw materials also makes the finished pruduct and sells it you are wrong I can point to a dozen companies that do that every day.

What is illegal?
