Thread: Architectual Item Pricing

Regardless what his prices are, I'd say most of disagree with most of his statements. I haven't figured why players feel that their viewpoints must necessarily be imposed on every other player in the game. I guess in the absence of regulation by government, people feel they must impose restrictions on themselves.

As for his pricing, it's more curiosity for me. Like one of the posters said, the breakdown of experience for products to pricing of products is uneven for Blackstarr's price list. There's no standard and no explanation on why it's so uneven, especially since he believes there should be a standard.

Stownhart, maybe you should post a WP so you aren't lynched as a troll.

Unfortunatly, unless a wp is posted soon, I'm going to have to say that he has already been confirmed as such. It has been just under 3 days since his last post.

And now it's been 4 days... and I never heard from kallaswieither even though I gave him the opportunity to contact me in game with the waypoint. I suspect this guy and his second account will lay low for awhile then pop up in another forum to troll. Maybe next month he'll show up in the weaponsmith forums claiming he sells Krayt weapons for 10k and under and how every weaponsmith should too

If you're going to say that this guy is legit, mind giving us a wp and the location and name of your city.

I've been a little busy IRL to do much online recently so I haven't had a chance to send you the waypoint. If you want to fly out to Blackstarr's shop go from Bestine toward's Ben Kenobi's house. Blackstarr's shop is a couple hundred meters past that in more or less a straight line (in the western dune sea that you claim Corbantis doesn't have). While you may suspect that I am his second account I am just a pleased customer of his.

Oh I see... you've been "busy" Because it takes what, a whole 3 minutes to log into the game to get someone a waypoint? I know if someone was calling ME a liar getting that waypoint would have been the FIRST thing I did. Maybe your computer crashed too? Your SWG subscription ran out and you couldn't log in? The dog ate your hard drive?

But apparently you wern't too "busy" to come out of a 2 month posting hiatus to reply in, of all things, this thread. What a happy coincidence for Blackstarr you just happened to be reading the architect forum to see this thread tobe able to defend him...

But alas... still no waypoint. No sign, no evidence that this shop exists anywhere but your mind. There comes a time when as a troll you need to know when the jig is up but you seem to be trying to buy some time.Iamhalf expecting you to reply with a waypoint to some shop that got put up within the last couple of days with some empty vendors and the excuse, "well somone just bought out all the inventory but usually it's stocked!".

Well busy for me in this case involved my wife's health so the last thing that I was thinking of was logging in to a game to get some information for someone who refuses to believe me. My computers are all working fine, I have had no account problems that I know of, and the dogs do not seem inclined to eat computer parts (although I'm sure they would give them a try if I added some peanut butter).

The reason that I even read this thread was that Blackstarr had sent en email to myself, and presumably other customers of his, asking us to chime in and I finally got around to doing so. I will hopefully be able to log in this evening after work and get you the waypoint. I have not been to his vendors in a couple weeks so I have no idea of the current stock but Blackstarr had just restocked a number of things at that time.

I did make the journey as described. I did find two houses. A medium generic house and a small Tatooine house. The waypoint is -5092, -2091. This location is around 600 m from the Ben Kenobi POI in a straight line from Bestine.

It was a pain though. Hostile Dune Stalkers, Tuskens, krayts and dragonets galore. A newbie in a landspeeder does quite poorly. I'm assuming this is the right location. I say assuming, because the medium house is titled "Closed" and has a 50k entry fee. (The small Tatooine house says "Hey neighbor!").

I don't understand the location. Bestine is 4k away, the nearest shuttle (Tombstone) is 3.2k away. Unless there used to be a player city with a shuttleport much closer by, the shop's location is bizarre.

My character doesn't have 50k unfortunately. I had to recreate a few times to actually reach the location so I don't have that free 75k anymore. If anyone on Corbantis would like to tip Irxosxi 50k to see what's in this shop, feel free. Just shoot me an email on Kettemoor that you did, and I'll see about checking this closed shop.

Course kallaswi or Stownhart could make this so much easier with an actual wp and accessible shop. Using a POI to give directions to your favorite Architect shop? Wouldn't a wp be easier?

From the description that sounds like the place that I remember although it was much easier to get to before the krayt spawns were increased. He must have closed down within the past couple weeks because I haven't been out that way in about that much time. The location is strange and his shop was much more convenient for me when it was southeast of Mos Eisley but for his prices and service I was willing to travel. I'll check my waypoint when I am able to log in (hopefully this evening [EST] after work) and confirm the location.

So what are the possible explanations at this point?...

1. Stownhart was selling at those low prices and simply burnt out / failed as the extreme undercutter is apt to do. So he closed up shop.

2. Stownhart was selling at those prices and his advertisement here caused his fellow Corbantis architects to buy him out like a pack of rabid capitalist vultures. So he closed up shop.

3. Stownhart and/or kallaswi are engaging in Trolling and the whole thing is fabricated. Either for entertainment or in a vain attempt to try and affect architect prices. The shop was put in the middle of nowhere as a feeble attempt to grief people by leading on a wild goose hunt across kryat spawns.

4. Stownhart was selling at those prices but for whatever reason closed his shop temporarily and will reopen and come back here at some point and tell us how wrong we are etc etc.

5. Pawlin has multiple alts, too much time on his hands and a severe case of schizophrenia. No I don't. Yeswe do.

Any other possibilities?

lol

After you pay the 50k entrance fee, nothing he is selling seems like quite the bargain anymore That 10k swoop will now cost you 60k But even though I am pretty sure I know what is inside that "shop" I'll tip you the 50k anyway. I have about 50 million so I can spare 50k for a good troll. Post your findings

Just as an update I saw Blackstarr online today. I sent hima tell. He ignored me. About 30 minutes later kallaswi sends me an email with the location of Blakstarr's shop. The location is exactly the one you posted above.

I visit the shop and what an adventure that is. I am a MAbut I have a full setof top of the line 500k Composite and some decent combat skills with an AV-21 and I was almost killed trying to get to it. A dozen mobs attack me. I finally get there and it is indeed closed as you already stated

I'm not sure when it occurred, but the said medium generic house has been taken down. (Hazelina, as much of the money as could be tipped was tipped to you.)

I asked the locals in the Western Dune Sea region, but no one seemed to know where his shop was. There do not seem to be any vendors associated with Blackstarr on the overhead map.

I spoke with Cora from the Rats of Nimh guild and she did not know where Blackstarr's shop was.

All this seems to point to Blackstarr arguing for prices he does not actually support in game anymore. So unless he decides to open the shop up again (without a 50k entry fee) and posts a verifiable wp, I guess we might be able to view his posting as a ploy for architects to price themselves out of business.
