A standard, crafted Advanced Reinforcement core is around 45 min/max damage, so have a look at an unsliced powerhammer on your server to see what the bones will do.
With respects to the bones being illegal, no they're not. However, if you have a weapon crafted with them that has either a higher minimum damage than max (e.g. stun baton will with those bones), or the potential to have a higher minimum damage than max (using powerups), then that weapon is illegal, and will be confiscated by CSR's.
However, Power Hammers have a large damage range (300 points), so even with the higher min on those bones, a hammer made from them will not even come close to being an illegal hammer.
The reason the weapons have to conform to having a lower minimum than max damage by the way is that ones with a higher min damage break melee mitigation, so it has no effect. This means a fencer with an illegal stun baton is way deadlier than a fencer with a legal one.
If you want to get baton's made from the bones, or maybe a 2-handed Axe (they are decent when made with acklay bones), then indeed, get the stats switched by a CSR. Otherwise, get them put in a hammer

From the way I understand it Min > Max bones are bugged, but not quite illegal. What is illegal is Min > Max weapons. You could put those bones in a Powerhammer and have a much better hammer for PvP because of the higher damage, but you might be taking a chance of an illegal weapon. I don't think you would have any trouble if you put them in a powerhammer the way they are, but if you made em in a stun baton, the stun baton may have min > max damage and be illegal and taken by a CSR and you will get nothign back in return. CSR's will reverse the stats though, I guess they feel reversing the stats and taking bugged weapons is easier then fixing the drop .....

min higher than max dmg bones are ok. unless they can create a weapon where the Min damage is higher than the max dmg they are ok. the bones arnt illegal but the possibility of making weapons with a higher min dmg is. example: Stun Baton 250-230 dmg. that means no matter what you do you will always hit for 250dmg, thus being illegal.

That's a good question what is the CSR stance on making weapons like PH's that have a high damage spread with bones like that. Obviously it would not result in a PH with a higher min than max, but alot of players including myself would rather have the extra damge on the min rather than the max.

Hi all smugglers
I've been a melee player for god knows... too long.. I love it to death. I have played ranged profs before (mastered commando, marksmen, rifleman) and got to 1/4/2/4 smuggler and novice pistoleer. my main question is this..... I am toying with the idea of switching to master pistoleer, x/x/4/x BH, x/x/4/x smuggler. any ideas? never got far in pistoleer and i guess i never got strong so never thought it was good, is it?

its a good stacking template...yes..... but a lot of smuggler might be insulted that you asked that. You should post that in the M. Pistoleer forums since your obviously going for Pistols Master...But yes it CAN be a deadly template.../shrug

Well, I picked up novice pistoleer because healthshot2 made levelling smuggler easier for me. On down the line, I picked up master sword and am adding some pistoleer trees for the defenses.
One tree will give you +70 to Dodge. Another has some melee def (+40) and one tree has nice Def v. Blind (+40), KD (+50), Posture Change Down (+20) Dizzy (+40) and Stun (+40), but that's just my inclinations, can't say it's the best way, but it works nice for me.

Last ditch to my knowledge is a 10X modifier that does dmg to a random stat....so yes it CAN be quite effective......

x10??? woah... that makes me really consider starting pistols... i might do it slowly by keeping TKM but starting to work on smuggler too since you need unarmed IV anyways. thx for advice.
