A few questions...
OK. I've scanned through a lot of posts now, and I want to know what is more viable to become Jedi faster. Is holo grinding for 5 or 6 free slots faster than waiting 6 cycles to train a branch every 3 weeks? Also, I believe I read somewhere that there was something you could kill that dropped a holo to tell you your next "apparently-not-so-secret-profession"? Or do you just need to grind every single profession to master for a sure-fire 6 free branch unlocks without any hints? Am I just totally out of the loop here? (probably) Could someone explain that process to me and tell me which would be quickest?
Thanks a lot

Well, I ground out about half the available profs, and I never unlocked. The 4 holo profs were "easy" (more or less, unless you had to master Dancer, like I had to *wipes the bitter taste from his mouth*), it's mastering the 4 other hidden profs that you needed to unlock that was hard.
No thanks, I'll take the mind-numbing FS grind, where I know I'll be rewarded, to the hidden prof method anyday!

Just use the ole "I can't afford my second account anymore" excuse... Can't argue about needin' money.

they said it, so it'll just be a matter of time
as for your buffbot, it's yours, not theirs... but if you need excuses, we can help you come up with those
lets see:
general:
- as the previous post says, cannot afford account, electricity to keep computer on, etc.
- I sold my account
- I gave my account to someone else
- S.O. threatens you to stop
if you can create a new char:
- I accidentally deleted the char
- got in trouble with someone in game and wants to restart char
if you want to keep playing the char:
- roleplay, and said you were under some strange mind control
- computer getting icky when left on, can only play for short amount of time before having to restart
... gimme some more time

I'm of the opinion that your game is what you make of it. You can shut down your bot on your own volition without an act of SOE to validate it. I've long ago stopped doing things in game that I find un-fun, because it's MY game, and MY leisure time and MY money and MY choice (however, there's never an excuse for ruining others' fun). Sure, I'd rather people like me than hate me, but I'm not about to sacrifice my enjoyment of the game just because others would rather that I be at their beck and call.
Your game is what you make of it, not what your server-mates would prefer.

Are they paying you real out of game money to run your bot?
If the answer is no they can pay $15 of their OWN money each month if they really MUST cheat some poor musician out of 2-5 thousand game credits.

Are these guys ever going to fix the buff bot problem?
I'm getting tired of starting my bot every day. Been doing it for the past 7 months in the same spot, day after day, vacation after vacation. It's almost like a 3rd job. It would be a good excuse to quit.
I think the people on my server would blackball my main character if I ever shut down the bot. This would be a good excuse.
Oh the poor buffbot owner. I can tell that this whole AFK issue has truly been an inconvenience to you. But here's a suggestion - if you want to shut it down, do it!
It's not as if ...
a) we're going to mind
b) yours is the only bot on your server
c) there aren't some live ents around who might be able to pick up some extra business
Think about this Naish: what does it say about your friends or these other people on your server if they did blackball your main? What does it say about you if you care about what such people think? I don't know about you, but I have decided that I don't have time in my life for people who befriend me for what I can do for them and not because they have some interest in me as a person. As all the bot owners like to say, it's your $15 a month so you should be able to do with it as you please (at least within the limits of the rules of the game) - and that includes shutting it down.

Here's a great excuse..& somewhat original..
"I realized the damage I was doing to the Performance Professions and decided to no longer contribute to imbalance in the game."
