Ahh but the thing is you aren't driving market pricing down .. no one has heard of you .. in the last hour i've talked to every architect online none of them have run into you as competition. So even IF you are doing the business you are claiming .. you aren't hurting any of us, I sell for 6cr/unit each and every day and have no trouble getting orders.

You can make any claim you want. I told you I am not a regular troller of the boards. You want me to prove I have the power cores I am willing to sell them to you at a decent profit to myself. I will sell you 60 of them if your willing to pay me 3 million credits. Its all up to you. If you need to ask about things fine log in and look up Willee Wonka and ask him how many harvesters he is managing for me while I am away. You want to find out how our resource program is doing fine ask Exalem he buys nearly as many resources as I do. He will probably tell you the 80 to 100k resources he buys a day is not enough. You want to prove when I became master thats fine go ask Avian and they will tell you how they feel "I screwed them over and used them etc." If you want to troll boards to find out more about me you wont find it you want to talk to some of the people in game thats fine. I should be home tomarrow sometime and be evaluating where we are and what needs to be done. I basically have nothing to prove to you in fact I have never heard of you so I could make the same claims about you. But I don't need too resort to that type of debating tactic.

See Your getting defensive its not a "debating tacit" the bottom line is simple .. you can't be selling 3 pa halls a day and not be known on the server. I'm not talking about board renown, i've now talked to 6 other marster arch's on the server and no one has heard of you. If you were doing as much business as you claim in buildings (i dont care what you sell in resources) you would be cutting into at least some of our business .. but your not =) So .. i really dont care what your doing because your not having the effect on the market you are claiming in this thread ..

No one on the server knows you .. everyone i talked to is booked solid selilng for 5cr+ so .. I think i'll let you do your ego trip on your own.

Well one things for sure at least. With the new maximum 250 item limit on housing there's not a whole lot of people going to be buying PA halls as personal residences anymore.

So much for selling 3 PA halls a day.

Riekl is right to a point there Dumin, You are not affecting the market in the way you think you are. Your claims are bloated, extravagantly.

Dumin:

If you're really selling at the prices you said, then you, personally, are why Architect will fail.

Not why I will fail as an architect. Why the entire profession has been screwed up by infants with zero sense of sustainable business. This is just an example of a PA with no mathematics skill griefing other players in a method that the Devs will probaby never notice. Ruining the game for dozens of others who are paying their very real $15/month is just... stupid. Competitive is fine, but stupid people ruining any hope of us solo types making money are wearing this game very thin.

On Kauri most resources sell for 5-6cr. per resource (which I refuse to buy or sell). I sell most architectural products at 5cr per resource, and I have little trouble finding business, but frequently it begins with the same conversation.

Them: "I know another architect that will sell a medium house for 55k, and you want 75k?"

Me: "If they want to undercut themselves and not be able to pay to keep up with demand, then buy from them, that's my price."

Them: "yeh, I'll just buy from them, thanks anyhow"

Me: "When you find out that you'll be put on a 2 week waiting list because he can't afford to keep up the harvesters because he's undercharging, keep me in mind since I can deliver on the spot."

<30 minutes to 1 day later>

Them: "I have the money, can you make me that house?"

Me: "Tell me where you need it delivered to."

It's a fact that the people on our server who have little to no concept of economics and undercut everyone else ot make a sell are short term architects. Those people, who most of us master architects know by name, last 1 to 2 weeks before they realize that they do nothing all day but hand sample to try to keep up with their overworked list and try to placate customers who wanted their structure 3 days ago. It's almost like the rotation of resources how there's a rotation of new architects trying to undercut everyone else then giving up after 2 weeks of failing to meet their orders.

To potential customers:

Simply put, if you want the product done, buy it from someone who's charging enough to maintain the resource intake and can deliver on the spot (or the next day, given factory bugs). Otherwise, you'll never see your product, and time is money. You'll also be supporting the long term architects and have someone you can call on in the future when you need things done. We'll be the urban planners you're going to need soon, those who undercut themselves won't make it.

3 million credits in the bank....and you have that many harvestors. Wow and you say your making a profit....i have over 4 million credits and this is with only 20 lots as opposed to your 100. Im happy with my prices , i price my items as i see fit...if i buy resources at 3cr per , my prices reflect that....plain and simple.

People dont buy fine by me , i will save all those resources for Urban Planner and continue to charge a fair prices as i deem fit. I have great business , my furniture sells and now i have Master Architect Furniture items and those are selling well....and this is 15k for the Couch. If i get resources cheap , my prices are low...if i have to buy them at 10cr per on Hides for example my prices reflect that.

Run it how you see fit , but if your starting out and need cash then you will have to compete with those low prices or just give the profession up for a bit and just harvest resources and get a combat profession to pay the maintenance and wait till it picks up again.

On my server you do a search for Architect and you will get quit a bit show up....do the other crafting profession and you will see 1-5 and thats not much at all.Dunno why people wana be architects so much...all crafting professions can make nice cash...well dunno how tailors or chefs do.

Well just do what you enjoy and brush off the undercutters plain and simple.

I have to say AndonSage2, this is the best post I have seen about prices and the people we architects have to deal with. I tried starting a topic about this, which didnt last long. I got a few poeple who agreed and more that thought I needed an econ class. I am on the corbantis server and am fairly new to the profession. I do hope to get to Master, but no one is selling houses from me.

Dumin is a good example of whats wrong with architect. (no i dont blame you.. its not your fault) PA's can destroy independant architects with unrealistic prices i cant compete with.. thats why im done. His "profits" are spread across an entire PA.. i have to do it all myself.. i cant compete. None of you indies can. And you will go bankrupt competing with PA OR you will spend more time online than you spend at your real life job to make it work.. either way.. no thanks for me.

I'm about finished with this profession, I thought it would be fun, that it would be neat to build things that stayed over time. But I'm trying to support a very small PA that is made up of casual gamers and the maintenence is catching up.

All I get all day long when I quote 5 creds per resource as the price is "Wow, I bought mine for XX". Why exactly is this person saying they bought theirs WHILE asking for another one? Case in point, a guy asked me how much a Heavy Mineral Harv was, I told him I charged 120k. He claimed to have bought one for 55k. Why the hell is anyone selling this low? You can't even BUY the resources for the heavy mineral harv for 55k! On Starsider every resource is going for above 3 per resource. Why should architects be putting together installations and houses for LESS than we pay to get the frigging resources in the first place? And then we spend time at our factories and then time and critical failures making your structure, for a lousy FIVE creds when armorcrafters and weaponsmiths get 20-100 creds per resource NO QUESTIONS ASKED!?

I really am going to have to join the ranks of Master Architects that have just decided to quit selling structures and sell resources. There's no **edit** profit in it at all, and the fun of the entire process gets sucked out right from the beginning by some non roleplaying combat character who has no freaking clue what an economy is. Combat characters can make corvetteloads of creditsa day in missions, yet we can't even come close trying to sell our wares. Ridiculous.

Dumin, you really are the reason the architect industry as a whole has been sucked right down the toilet, you know that? Everyone else here seems to. You have no concept of what it is to work for your upkeep. Your guild just hands it to you, and your architects have no value on the structures they make because they didn't have to pay for the resources, so why charge what is fair? Just undercut everyone! Yay, you win. You're the financial PKs of this game. Your prices aren't even close to fair. What they amount to is thegriefing of a profession.

Wow, I didn't intend to start an architect war with my post, hehe

My post wasn't intended as a complaint about pricing. It was intended to show the mentality of people who sell their resources for higher than they expect to pay for finished structures. Those people need lessons in economics.

Crafters will price their wares based on how much the wares cost to make, and how much people are willing to pay. Weaponsmiths and armorsmiths can charge what they do because people will pay their prices. Architects have a much lower profit margin, but still need to price their wares to make a profit. Even Dumik wasn't selling mediums for 25k, hehe

I do want to comment on a point that Riekl brought up. Just because someone doesn't advertise doesn't mean they aren't who they say they are. Dumik could very well be doing what he says, I have no idea. All my business has been through word of mouth. I've never advertised. Heck, I can't afford to advertise, because I'm always backordered two daysas it is. I got Advertising III to list my shop on the map, but haven't done so yet. I haven't even listed my shop on any web site.I'm currently upgrading all my medium harvesters to heavy as I can. Once I have the stored resources I'm comfortable with, then I'll start advertising.

I am interested, though, if you've heard of me Riekl Or if anyone else on Chilastrawho frequents this forum has, hehe

For you independent Architects, who scream about the PA architects, there's a simple solution... ask your friends in the game if you can use their lots. Many combat professions only ever get a house, which leaves extra lotsthey aren't using. Yes, I'm in a guild, but in my guild, that just means I have friends who let me use their lots to place harvesters. I still do all the work myself. And yeah, that means about 2 hours a day just tending harvesters. The rest of the time online is spent on crafting.

BTW, Dumik, you're not the only one with factory crates of Power Cores
