Thread: Jedi Revamp
I'm definitely interested.
Finally the potential to be Jedi without suffering through months of grinding and boredom. Some people I know endorse the current system over the new quest-based one.
Rationale:
Number 1: (This one I like..) "It forces you to get to know more about the game, to experience new things that you might not have otherwise."
Debunk: Most people grind and drop, and never actually bother to try to learn to play the profession. The friend that said this was a true exception to the rule, and actually kept Weaponsmith after mastering it, rather than going back to Rifleman.
Number 2: "The grinding system keeps the Jedi population from exploding because only the truly dedicated will go through the grind."
Debunk: Reality. The Jedi numbers are massive. Yes, it's quite possible that they'll skyrocket once the Quest system comes out, but the fact of the matter is, anyone who wants to be Jedi enough is going to be, regardless of the system. The only way to counteract that is to artificially limit the Jedi populations, which would be a bad, bad business decision for SOE, because denied the possibility of Jedi-hood, many, many people would quit, or never start playing.
Personally, I'm looking forward to it. A friend of mine mentioned (as a fault) that if you want to preserve your first character, you have to work from the beginning as a Jedi.. which I'm thinking is more a bonus. It will help slow down the Jedi growth, as many people grow attached to their primary and don't want to get rid of their professions (even those who grind typically do it with the intention of going back to their original template once it's done) and secondly because it will give me more things to do in game, and that's never a bad thing.
Yeah i agree, im gonna blast through them to get my pilot set up too, dont realy care how hard they are. I can take a high difficulty level, however i refuse to do anything that will ruin my gaming experience and others (i.e holo-grind)
