Thread: People who are jacking up our economy...
Becaue I like working in a challanging business, money is NOT my only goal, If it was I would just sell reseoruces. I like working directly with customers, althoug many sales are though my vendor.
I like making houses and selling them to people and then visiting the people I sell too, I enjoy it, and they really like me for it.
If I didnt like it, I wouldnt do it.

I am not trying to impress anyone, the only thing that impresses me is a solid business.
What I have been trying to explain to people is about the faiy tale of 3cr per unit.
But I know what the real problem is, the probelm is thatit is the same people that complain about housing prices being low that are selling and buying resrources at 3cr per unit.
I dont buy that garbage, I know what it cost to make a unit. So I throw out the "conventional SWG prices" and I set my own price based on my costs and overhead. And everyone gets upset. It does not bother me that you sell for more, it does not bother me when others sell for less than I do.
The problem on this board is that people expect to make 400% profit from 1 unit of resrouce like it is a god given right, it isnt. This is an open economy.
Well as long as you know what you're doing is illegal in the US, let alone most of Europe, fair enough.
No your pricefixing is illegal ![]()
Sam Walton won every lawsuit about his low prices, this is amercia, we love competitive business.
Or is this Naboo? I keep forgetting.
Wherever u go or whatever u do, there is always going to be someone that will sell your product for less than you yourself would.
the goal of an architect should not be profit margin or making cash. it should be satisfy your customer and impress him enough to refer you to others and come back for repeat business.
I just made Master Architect last night on the Eclipse Server, which is pretty well established and full of other aspiring novice's. I get people all the time asking for this and that, and when i quote my price to them, they go i can get that for 10-30k cheaper, but more often than not, he was just pulling your chain and will give u a tell the next day or so asking and accepting your price and will come to purchase the item or items.
The fact of the matter is, yes there are people out there selling cheap, but if they dont take care of the "customer" and satisfy their needs, he can be rest assured his business will dry up over time.
When my customers come see me, i make sure they get the best possible product in a timely manner.
The resource market is about right tbh, with the fking way resources shift every few days or so, resources are MEANT to be hard to come by. Its part of stabilizing the economy tbh. I dont like it, it makes it hard on me to accumulate the massive amounts of resources i need to make the items people want, but i can understand why that is.
as for Davin..... make sure you let your pa and friends know that u appreciate their efforts at dropping harvesters and supplying u with information on where those good resource spots are, because without them u would be hard pressed to sell a large harvester for 90k.
The problem is money has no value anymore. People can undercut the system, making all architects look like they should sell for pennies, because in reality thoes people have the funds and it doesn't matter anymore.
I have 2 mill in he bank, collecting dust. I can buy my resources when I need to, build whatever, blowtons offunds on clothing and accessories, and still have money left over to burn. Because there IS so much money on the server, people care less about having it.
Sowhat does this do? Even I am beginning to sell cheaper then I used to allow myself to,not because the business isn't there, or that I feel it should be cheaper, but becauseI don't need the cash. If I rerolled my guy today and picked classes that do not makegood money, I'd have more cash then whatever the character I rebuild could spend in a lifetime, and when I continue into Urban Planner, I'll be plenty rich to build player cities. A lot of crafters are in the same boat... So learned the trade, made a small fourtune, and now money means nothing to me. Hell, BECAUSE I began as an artisan any kind of cash below 100k feels like pennies to me. My Pistoleer on another server gets 20k and I don't even consider it cash.
Money is a place holder for resources. Other then that, Money is meaningless.

If I were American, I would be offended. I'm sick of the Wal-Mart comparisons. It's not the same thing.
Regardless, Wal-Mart, while very successful for the Walton family has had an overall negative effect on the US economy. Wal-Mart helps destroy local business, encourages oppressive labor practices, and does all other sorts of evil megacorp stuff.
You should only strive to be like Walmart if you're a soul sucking, heartless corporate wampire! (Die wampire die)
Bingo, like I said to Dayln earlier, I hate Wal-Mart. I can't stand it. Are it's customers happy? Would they be running propaganda commericials if they were? Nope.
Dayln, there are huge amounts of people in this thread disagreeing with you, as I have done for the past month. Every thread you post about your customers. Your customers are not happy with you, they are happy with your UNDERCUTTING prices. Yes, you ARE an undercutter, the rest of the architect community has spoken. Do you need every post quoted back to you?
Fun. This game is about fun. We pay to have fun. Architects cannot have fun because of people like you, who our customers have to read about and listen to. Architects cannot make enough money to have fun with because of you. What do architects do with their money? We are the heart of many guilds, we create cities, we change the landscape. Because of this, we give up all our skillpoints to be the best architects we can be. And what do we get for it? We get some guy telling us that our prices are a ripoff and insulting us because he heard some other guy was selling it for 1 CP/R.
So you go price your non-decay items at 1-2 CP/R. Go ahead and ruin the game for the rest of us. You will NOT be a fellow architect to all of us who have posted here. You will not be a comrade to any of us. You will not be a friend to any Novice who seeks advice. Be alone.
Layoff the guilt trips. Dayln owes you nothing and the concept of "fellow architect" has no value to be traded upon.
Lol, it does to some of us, obviously not to you, who doesn't have anything claiming to be an architect, nor with a name I've seen before. Tell us why we should listen to you, and you win the cookie. Otherwise, don't let the door hit you on the way to the Weaponcrafter forums.
Vyper51 - Attack my logic, not me as a person, if you wish to have a logical argument.
If you don't, *shrug*.
No, Sobel has only a point for some architects. I've never had 2 mil. Sobel is also on an older server, not Naritus. Sobel never ruined the economy for the Novice Architects on his server.
To other people, who don't have a huge bankroll, money still has meaning. Money has no meaning for Sobel because he has nothing to do with it. I pay the maintenence on 25 harvesters. I went through 500k this week with all the shifts.I advance funds to guildmembers so they can have fun with it. The money pit is another inherant problem in the game, there aren't enough sinks. Selling structures for 3k a pop isn't helping that either.
